REMEDIAL READING PLAN

KINDERGARTEN
S.Y. 2017-2018

I. Objective
To develop learners’ ability to recognize letters and its sound.

To build confidence/independency in acknowledging letters without teacher’s

assistance.

II. Strategies/Activities

The kindergarten learners are starting the remedial reading for the whole month of July. Out of

sixty-three learners, twenty of them needs help in acknowledging letters a nd its sound. After the class. the

teacher is spending 30 minutes for…

 Drills of letters

 Listening to the alphabet song

 One-to-one instruction for polishing/mastery of the phonetic sound

 Writing upper and lower case

 Classifying/sorting big to small letters using flash cards

 Matching big letters to small letters through board works and worksheets

 Singing the phonetic sound

III. What is the nice thing happened while doing the activity?

By using different innovative resources/instructional materials like laptop, the learners become more

interested in the learning process. Their confidence in alphabet knowledge turn out to be refining.

IV. What are the hindrances that happened while implementing the activity?

 Some of the students told the teacher that their parents are not following them up at home.

 Sometimes the learners are absent.

V. Suggestion/proposal

The teacher will visit the learners and parents to explain the good intention of the remedial process, the benefits

and the outcome of the remedial reading plan.
