The Role:

The mission for the Data & Analytics team is to enable and empower our partners across the business
to use high impact data & analytics tools, technologies, and methodologies to drive business insights
& improve business outcomes.

As a Digital Data & Analytics Business Partner, your key area of focus will be to facilitate collaboration
between the Data & Analytics team and each of the business teams within your business domain to
drive change and improve the quality of Data & Analytics services. You will also be responsible for
collating and analysing available data to derive actionable insights and translate complex results into
simple conclusions that will empower the business to act.

Your Responsibilities:

Lead on Partnering with Business Teams


 Be the strategic Data & Analytics ‘Trusted Advisor’ partner to your group of business teams
and have the ability to talk about data and analytics in a way that shows your stakeholders
‘what’s in it for them’.
 Proactively identify, collate and validate the business opportunities that could be enabled by
Data & Analytics products based on key business questions.
 Act as a Subject Matter Expert by understanding business needs, scoping Data & Analytics
requirements, synthesizing insights, and proposing solutions for the Data & Analytics team to
deliver.
 Own prioritisation and demand management for your business teams in regard to Data &
Analytics product delivery.

Vision & Strategy


 Provide a clear vision & strategy in how to lead your group of business teams toward a data-
driven and insight-led culture, resulting in actionable insights that drive significant business
impacts.
 Communicate and influence stakeholders within the organisation to support the adoption and
evolution of data and analytics products.
 Work with business leaders to promote the use of data & analytics to support decision-
making.
Delivery of Data & Analytics Products
 With a combination of analytical expertise, data and system knowledge and business insight,
you will answer and anticipate critical business questions and opportunities and deliver
insights to the business in ways that make significant business impacts.
 Deliver new Data & Analytics products & services, e.g., data visualisations and storyboards,
as well as advanced analytical models, descriptive and predictive.
 Improve the quality of existing Data & Analytics products and services.

Team Management, Collaboration and Relationship Building


 Lead, manage and monitor the work of data analyst(s) to ensure effective implementation of
projects to achieve all objectives.
 Collaborate with the wider Data & Analytics team to deliver Data & Analytics products &
services that deliver a high business impact.
 Engage with Technology Product Domains in order to align on demand management and
prioritisation across key business teams.

Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform


 Identify and support the business in defining requirements to enable delivery of data and
analytics products within the Enterprise Analytics Platform.
 Provide innovative thought leadership to the data and analytics team and contribute points of
view on Enterprise Analytics Platform strategy.

Contributing to the Data & Analytics Community


 Support evolution of the Data & Analytics hub and spoke model to address business
requirements and key business questions through delivery of Data & Analytics products.
 Support the development of Data & Analytics skills and knowledge of spoke community
members.
 Promote cross functional ways of working in support of Data & Analytics initiatives ensuring
adherence to standards and leading practices.
 Encourage business user adoption of Data & Analytics products within your business domain.

Essential Skills:

 A Bachelor or master’s degree in a quantitative field (Operation Research, Computer Science,


Engineering, Applied Math, Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Management/Business
Information Systems (or related degree)
 10+ years of demonstrable experience in related field, along with Team Management &
Leadership experience
 Knowledge of leading Analytics and BI platforms (e.g.Alteryx, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI,
IBM Cognos)
 Hands on experience with at least one programming language (e.g.R, Python desirable)
 Previous experience in large scale data warehousing, Teradata advantageous
 Advanced SQL skills desirable
 Advanced analytics experience – predictive modelling, statistical analysis, and machine
learning (Supervised and unsupervised learning models like KNN, Random Forest, K-Means
Clustering etc)
 Proven experience with Data Science / Machine Learning Platforms (e.g. Alteryx, SAS,
Databricks, IBM SPSS etc.)
 Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis with visualisation and analytics
techniques to solve defined business problems
 Up to date on large scale data, BI & visualisation technologies, trends and practices
 Project management experience involving multiple stakeholders, and prioritising and
delegating activities
 Strong communications skills including the ability to deliver a clear story to influence
agreement to your recommendations with data and insights.

 An ability to question and challenge ensuring we are continuously improving our processes
and measuring the right data
 Excellent planning and organisation skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise work
schedule for self and team and work within agreed timescales.
 Excellent attention to detail and an ability to analyse and interrogate high volumes of data as
well as demonstrating an ability to focus on higher level overview.
 Be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal/communication skills, while
demonstrating high levels of emotional intelligence and possess the ability to push back with
professionalism. Proven ability in developing effective working relationships across all levels
of the organisation.
 Operates with a high level of integrity, diplomacy, tact and professionalism.
 Effective and persuasive presentation skills, including the ability to present complex
information in an understandable manner to all areas of the business.
 Sound judgement, unquestionable ethics and integrity with high degree of transparency and
trust
 Passionate about delivering Best in Class visualisations and analytics and applying previous
knowledge to deliver excellent outcomes
 Self-motivated to work with diverse business scenarios, handling multiple priorities and have
a business & consultancy mind-set, while technically (data) savvy
 Passion for discovering new things and ability to learn quickly
