Part 1:

Research about a new vaccine that can be effective against lung cancer has been experimented
on forty-three patients. Vaccination was injected into every victim about twice a month, for three
months, and managed for three years to confirm the results. After five or twenty-four months, all
of the victims have no symptoms except for three patients in advanced stages, the disease
completely disappeared. Nevertheless, people who experienced early stages didn’t have clear
results. The vaccine stimulates the immune system, which recognises harmful cells and destroys
them. It can fight against not only lung cancer but also other cancer efficiently. In the future,
various studies need to be carried out so that this treatment will be generally worked out with the
best results and make these patients comfortable and relieved.

Part 2:

The chart gives information about many factors why people go travelling and a wide range of
major problems they have to deal with in 2009.

To begin with, the most popular reason of traveling to the US is that they go on business, with
the figure is roughly 49 percent, followed by 19 percent of visitors coming there because of
personal reasons. On the contrary, visiting friends or relatives covers the smallest percentage,
only 6 percent.

In addition, 36 percent of tourists believe that cost of travel is the primary trouble. Space for
pedestrians is also an obstacle but this proportion isn’t as high as others, it only accounts for 6
percent. Others like safety concerns, congestion and aggressive drivers are mentioned as well.

In conclusion, most tourists go to the US for their work and personal reasons, not for holidays.
Also, the issue of price ranks at the high top of tourists’ opinions.

Part 3:

Many countries face dilemma between pursuing economic growth and protecting the

environment. In your opinion should governments in theses countries give priority to

economic growth or environmental protection?

Most countries in the world have a large number of issues needed to be worked out despite
technological innovation. During this time, governments can’t make decisions about giving
preference to environmental conservation or economic development. From my perspective, two
policies have the same importance in life, so we should improve both as well.
On the one hand, the environment has a profound role on every human. However, it is being
threatened and in an alarming situation because air pollution, water, plastic pollution, etc. are
spreading rampantly. People are the main reason for this problem, so each of them assumes the
responsibility for making it cleaner and greener. Unless a lot of campaigns and urgent measures
are taken, these countries will become worse with dangerous diseases, or even some of them,
including the young, can die. As a consequence, the young crowd can’t help their region have
foothold in the world. Nobody can try their best to support their country when they suffer from
weak health. The more humans being change the environment, the better people’s health
improves.

On the other hand, growing economy should be encouraged because of its potential. If the
governments only care about the environment, gradually, their economy will become extremely
old-fashioned. With superior growth of other developed areas, these countries have to catch up
with them. What they need to do is take action now or it will be very challenging due to the fact
that society develops more modern and fashionable on a regular basis. In addition, developing
countries means that giving a wide range of job opportunities for unemployed young people,
better salaries for all citizens. When a great deal of money is made, governments hardly find
difficulty in solving serious issues, including pollution and diseases. Thus, most of them can be
treated in the most efficient way.  Last but not least, a strong economy can help a country’s
standing on the global stage, in terms of its political influence and trading power.

In summary, authorities should place a high value on not only the countries’
improvement but also on environmental observation for the reason that they equally have vital
impact on their life and their country.
