ESSAY

Importance of studying Philippine Literature

To begin with, Let's start by defining what literature actually is. Literature is a term that
refers to both spoken and written information. Literature, which derives from the Latin term
for "writing created with letters" and means "writing produced with letters," is most often
used to describe works of the imagination, such as poetry, theater, fiction, nonfiction, and, in
some cases, journalism and song. It conveys that literature can be derived from any particular
sort of oral or written communication.

Another important aspect is that literature consists of writing that expresses the
meanings of life and nature in words that have charm and power and are imbued with the
author's personality in ways that are artistically compelling and timeless. According to the
Presentation of Mr. Jon Rodas in the video, literature is our own story and own identity.
Stories that are unifying of human experiences.

Mr. Jon Rodas, said "Story is Identity," which implies that everyone of us has a unique
set of joyful, sad, amusing, and even sorrowful stories to share. As humans, we are aware
that "literature" already exists in our lives. Literature existed because people wanted to
express their feelings, emotions and experiences in writing. They used letters, words,
phrases, and entire constructs in an artistic way to convey what they perceived about life. 

In addition, I already read a lot of books and stories online and Wattpad. I believe that
the writers of all those stories are trying to convey their feelings, thoughts, and even deeply
embodied sorrows through their stories. Also, many people are not good at verbal
communication. But gradually I became they’re good at writing sentences/stories. Good
writers tend to attract a lot of readers because they don't just write stories, they let people felt
the sincere touch of escaping from reality. And that's because of their top-notch stories. 

Finally, Mr. John Rodas' presentation in the video was all about "literature." clearer and
more precise. Literature is writing that is made of letters and produced of letters. It existed
because many people wanted to. Or let's say that many people have a talent/gifted for writing
stories, novels, poetry, etc. People who have a heart of writing add more colour to people's
lives. A first-class writer who tends to imbue people with the gentle and beautiful side of
literature.
