Some of the stress signs that big cats show in zoos include spending an unusual amount of time cleaning,

licking, and grooming themselves, as well as being more vigilant, pricking their ears, and moving around
because they feel threatened. They discovered that cats kept near the public spend more time acting
unnaturally than cats kept further away. The gesturing and shouting from observers make them more
stressed and irritated. Some of the things that can make them comfortable in a zoo environment that
they study how visitors affect the health and well-being of monkeys, gorillas or chimpanzees, cats have
been largely ignored. also, by redesigning the space, including better use of ponds, bushes and trees and
by keeping the visitors just a little further away from the animals.
