Learning Objectives
This course aims to review some of the basic principles of the English language, such as grammar, structure,
style, and punctuation. The main focus of the course will be on building and improving the academic and
technical writing skills for the students.
By finishing this course, the students should be able to:
Write grammatically correct sentences that describe operations, actions, or systems in any engineering
topic.
BE able to identify grammatical mistakes when proof-reading or reviewing their peers’ writing.
Being able to include figures, tables, and equations into their written documents in a scientifically
acceptable style.

Avoid common mistakes usually made when writing technical and academic reports within the field of
Electrical, Electronic, and Computer Engineering.
Prerequisites
Students taking this course should have achieved an above intermediate level in English (reading and writing).
Additionally, since this course will focus on the technical and academic writing in the general field of Electrical
Engineering, it would be better for the attendees to hold a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or one
of its branches (e.g. Electronics, Communications, or Computer Engineering).
