1. Give definition to the word ‘businesses.
It is the work activity carried out by those people who are dedicated to the trade of
goods and services, for profit.

2. What is the difference between for-profit and non-profit organizations?


Support
your answer with relevant examples.
For-profit companies sell products or services, non-profit companies provide
services for free or at reduced prices, without worrying about enriching their
shareholders.
An example of for-profit organizations can be found:
Wal-Mart, Nestle, Face book, Coca-Cola.
Non-profit organizations:
Red Cross, UNICEF, Association for Women's Rights and Development.

3. What is production?
Are those activities involved in the conceptualization, design and creation of
products and services.

4. Specify the notion of ‘just-in-time inventory’.


Just-in-time inventory is a strategy whose purpose is to eliminate everything that
represents waste in the activities of purchasing, manufacturing, and distribution in
a company, increasing its efficiency and reducing costs.

5. What is marketing?
It is the set of activities carried out to facilitate the sale and/or ensure that the
product finally reaches the consumer.

6. Define such business operation as finance.

Commercial operations: these are operations that reflect market conditions in the
country of origin that have been carried out regularly or within a representative
period between independent buyers and sellers.
Finance: is the field of economics that studies how money and capital are obtained
and managed.

7. What does the HRM involve?


It is a key piece for any company, since its most important role is to select personnel with
the right profile to carry out a specific activity, and they are also responsible for training to
promote productivity, efficiency and worker satisfaction and thus ensuring success for the
company.
