BARANGAY ZAMORA-MELLIZA

CITY PROPER, ILOILO CITY


MESSAGE
Nature has its own fury and no force of man can stop the devastating
power of it. However, enable for us to caution the effect of it we must study
and make necessary preventive action to reduce or even eliminate the risk
that may arise.

The Importance of BDRRM for us is to be prepared of any disaster that


may occur and by doing so, we minimize the impact of disaster. Ultimately
to educate the people and be aware of any impending natural calamities that
may occur.

I, Peter B. Abadiano, Punong Barangay together with the Sangguniang


Barangay present this 2022 Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management
Plan of Barangay Zamora-Melliza to address the challenges
and adopt the necessary programs for the
community-based disaster risk reduction
management.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
I. INTRODUCTION
A disaster risk management is the systematic process of using administrative
directives, organizations and operational skills and capacities to implement
strategies, policies and improved coping capacities in order to lessen the
adverse impacts of hazards and the possibility of disaster.

Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan of Barangay


Zamora-Melliza was carefully crafted to ensure that it remains true to the
essence of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
Framework and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan
and is consistent with the salient provisions of Republic Act 10121 otherwise
known as the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of
2010.
II. ECOLOGICAL PROFILE
The Barangay Zamora-Melliza is more or less 100 meters from the Iloilo City
hall bounded by the following Barangay’s:
North : Barangay Monica
South : Barangay Sto.Rosario
East : Barangay Concepcion
West : Barangay Muelle Loney

We are one of the 10 Waterfront Barangay of the City Proper District with a
population of 2,875 (2020 PSA Census) residents

5% Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund : 294,746.00
