• Describe manpower requirements to run CRT

• List basic infrastructure required for CRT

• Describe steps to start a CRT programme

• Ensure sustainability of CRT programme

Infra-structure
At least 2-3 therapists in a team
A separate therapy room with good
ventilation/air conditioning
Preferably 2-3 computers, with a mix of
old (WinXP) and new (Win10) operating
systems
Some budget to buy original software /
apps (around RM200 – RM500)

Steps To Start Off
Approval from Hospital Director (~2 weeks)
Setting up CRT lab (1 week)
Therapist training with software (1-2 weeks)
Preparing forms and SOP / referral forms
Informing doctors / agencies to refer cases
Experiment / trial run with 1-2 patients
Extra training / guidance from experts (if necessary)
Run the service!
Refresher courses / supervision from time to time

 Experiment with ‘easier’ patients first.
Take one or two patients initially, when the
results are reasonably good… spread the news..
Some Starting Up Publicise the ‘service’ within the hospital and
neighbouring clinics/hospitals
Tips
Prepare leaflets to distribute to visitors
(potential referrers and clients)
At some point, let existing (especially the
‘successful’ patients) to take the tours for
visitors.
Try to get sponsors from gov/NGO to pay for
the travelling costs (if possible)
