ARTS MONTH 2023

I. RATIONALE
One of Saint Peter Academy of Alegria Inc.’s ideals is the
genuine and deep respect for cultural diversity, which is further
reflected by recognizing National Arts Month as the Filipino people
strive to enrich unique artistry with a strong sense of nationhood
centered in this celebration.
This February 2023, in accordance to the Presidential
Proclamation 683, the school celebrates national arts month, which
will enable the aspiring artists of the school to showcase their unique
talents. The students are encouraged to participate in the activities
proposed by the school’s Art Club.
II. OBJECTIVES
a. To provide a gateway for students to exhibit their creativity
and talents.
b. Instill within a sense of patriotism and national pride
through artworks depicting Filipino culture.
c. To inspire creativity amongst students.
III. PARTICIPANTS
a. All students from grade 7 to grade 12
b. All JHS and SHS faculty members

IV. GUIDELINES FOR DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES


Caricature (1:00 PM, February 23, 2023, JHS Computer Laboratory)
Mechanics:
A representative from each section will make a cartoon artwork that
promotes and embraces Filipino culture
 Done in a short bond paper
 Time allotted: 2 hours
 Shading should solely be done using a pencil (no colors)
 Participants are required to bring their own materials
Criteria:
Relevance to the theme: 40%
Aesthetic / Visual Quality: 50%
Originality: 10%
Total: 100%

Comic (1:00 PM, February 23, 2023, JHS Computer Laboratory)


Mechanics:
A representative from each section will create a comic strip
addressing the ongoing social issues such as pollution, prejudice and
discrimination.
 With/ without color is allowed
 The participants should bring their own materials
 Time allotted: 2 hours
 The strip should be done in a short bond paper.
Criteria:
Storytelling - 20%
Content - 10%
Spelling/grammar proofreading - 10%
Creativity - 30%
Aesthetic/ visual quality - 30%
Total: 100%

Diorama (8:30 AM, February 28, 2023, Morning Exhibit, Alegria


Sports Complex)
Mechanics:
The paired sections will work together to create a diorama, which
will be presented during the morning exhibit of the arts month
culmination.
Theme: Nature Preservation
Criteria:
Relevance to the theme - 30%
Creativity - 20%
Presentation - 10%
Accuracy - 10%
Aesthetic/ visual quality - 30%
Total: 100%
Culminating Activities (12:40 PM, February 28, 2023)
“SPAAI Got Talent”
Mechanics:
Grade level representatives will showcase their skills in poetry,
singing and dancing. For the spoken poetry, each grade level will
choose 1 representative; the singing contest will be duet, and for the
dance contest, a grade level must have a minimum of 10 and a
maximum of 20 dancers.

Time allotment:
Spoken Poetry: 2-3 minutes
Dance: 3-4 minutes
Singing: 3-4 minutes
Spoken Poetry (English, Topic: Addressing the Ongoing Social Issues
Such as Pollution, Prejudice and Discrimination)
 The spoken word poetry piece must be an original composition,
spoken in English/Filipino. Each representative is given
2-3 minutes.
 The spoken poetry must be delivered from memory.
 Sounds, instruments, or musical background is allowed to
complement the delivery. No deduction shall be made if the
contestant opts not to have a musical background.

Entertainment value - 25%
Originality - 20%
Costume and audience impact - 10%

Singing (“Original Pinoy Music”, Topic: Addressing the Ongoing

Complementary attire -10%
