Learning Objectives: At the end of the lesson, students with 75% accuracy are able to:
 Identify keys on the keyboard;
 Discuss the importance of the keys on the keyboard; and
 Use the keyboard correctly.

Keyboard – is an input device used for putting information including letters, words and numbers into your computer.
Mouse - is a hardware input device and small hand-held pointing device that acts as a cursor on your computer screen. You can do
a variety of tasks on the computer screen, such as selecting the text, icons, files, and folders, opening or closing any text, icons,
files, and folders. You can drag and drop any file or folder using a computer mouse.

There are 5 uses of the mouse in our computer system:


1. Pointer - A pointer is also known as a cursor. Gamers do more using the pointer, like while playing the game, you can use the
pointer to shoot something with your gun and turn your gun in that direction.

2. Select - With the use of a computer mouse, you can select anything very easily. For example, selecting a text file, select a file or
a folder, etc.

3. Hover - You can hover over a link using a computer mouse. Hover means that as you move your mouse cursor over the hover
link or on the hover text, then that link or text starts doing motion.

4. Scroll - Using a computer mouse, you can scroll through any soft page very easily. We use the scroll to read a large document
completely or we scroll a web page to read complete information about something on a web page. A computer mouse has a wheel,
through which we scroll a document page or web page. This wheel is found in all types of the computer mouse.

5. Drag-and-Drop - Using a computer mouse, you can easily drag-and-drop something, like - you can drag-and-drop a file or
folder, you can drag-and-drop a document. And you can also drag-and-drop any image or video etc.

Drag-and-drop means to drop a file from one place to another.

6. Open & Close Program - With the use of a computer mouse, you can easily open or close any computer program. Open
computer programs like - You open any application like MS word, editing software, etc. And after opening, when your work is
done, then you close that program.

Right button (Right-clicking) - can be used for many things, but it's most
commonly used to open another window displaying more information about
whatever you're viewing.
Left button (Left-clicking) - is what allows you to interact with different elements
on your computer screen.
Scroll Wheel Button - is one such key component of the mouse that is used to
move up and down web pages or documents.
Wire - is a location on the mouse where it can be connected to other devices like
printers or computers. A connection point of a mouse allows it to transmit data to
other devices and receive information from them.
