Introduction: Begin by introducing the activity of decorating bottles as a fun

and creative way to express ourselves. Explain that just as we can use bottles
to hold and display beautiful things, we can also use our lives to hold and
display God's love and grace.

1. Choosing the bottles (1 Samuel 16:7): Explain that when we choose the
bottles to decorate, we can look beyond their outward appearance and
focus on their potential. Read 1 Samuel 16:7, "The Lord does not look at
the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but
the Lord looks at the heart." Talk about how just as we can look beyond
the outward appearance of the bottles, we can also look beyond the
outward appearance of others and see their potential.
2. Cleaning and preparing the bottles (2 Timothy 2:21): Explain that before
we can decorate the bottles, we need to clean and prepare them. Read 2
Timothy 2:21, "Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be
instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and
prepared to do any good work." Talk about how just as we need to
clean and prepare the bottles to make them ready for decoration, we
also need to cleanse ourselves and be prepared to do good works for
God.
3. Decorating the bottles (Colossians 3:23-24): Explain that when we
decorate the bottles, we can do so with creativity and intentionality.
Read Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your
heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know
that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the
Lord Christ you are serving." Talk about how just as we can decorate the
bottles with all our heart, we can also serve God with all our heart and
use our gifts and talents to bring him glory.
4. Displaying the bottles (Matthew 5:14-16): Explain that after the bottles
are decorated, we can display them for others to see and appreciate.
Read Matthew 5:14-16, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a
hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a
bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in
the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they
may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Talk about
how just as we can display the bottles to show their beauty, we can also
display God's love and grace through our lives and actions.

Conclusion: After the bottles are finished decorating and displaying, have the
children appreciate each other's work and talk about how they can apply the
lessons they learned to their daily lives. Encourage them to look beyond
appearances and see the potential in others, cleanse themselves and be
prepared for good works, serve God with their gifts and talents, and let their
light shine for others to see God's glory.
