NARRATIVE REPORT ON GULAYAN SA PAARALAN

2022-2023

Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) is one of the programs under the

National Greening Program of the Department of Education. The Gulayan sa
Paaralan is one of the mechanisms the government implemented to promote and
raise awareness to address food insecurity in the country. Food insecurity is the
state where people lack regular access to enough safe and nutritious food for
normal growth and development and active and healthy life.

In line with the campaign of the Department of Education (DepEd) in

intensifying the implementation of Gulayan sa Paaralan, Maquilao Integrated
School has come up with an initiative called “Veggie for IM’s: Vegetable Production
as Fund Source for Instructional Materials,” which is an Income Generating
Project that aims to maintain and sustain the Gulayan sa Paaralan program and
at the same time raise funds for the procurement of instructional materials for
students.

The Gulayan sa Paaralan has created a great impact to the students of

Maquilao Integrated School as it served not just an eye-opener for students on
the significant contribution of agriculture to the human well-being for its
nutritional value, as well as its economic benefits as it helps in creating a
solution to the plight of teachers and learners by the funds it raised to procure
instructional materials that is in dire need of the learners. It also supported our
School-Based Feeding Program by providing school-grown vegetables for the
feeding program of our wasted and severely wasted learners.
Truly, the Gulayan sa Paaralan program of the Department of Education
has made a large contribution and created a great impact in addressing the
nutritional deficiency of our learners and at the same time has served as an
additional source of income to our schools.
