someone can hear me I can continue shouting and fighting with them.
Narration
1. The author uses a variety point of view, including first person point-of view and third person point of view.
Somehow, the author uses this kind of approach to show the reader how does the main character feels at the story.
2. None, because the narration itself is enough to catch the attention of the readers. Also, the narration is enough
to easily understand how did the story goes.
3. The ending is quite sad because of this phrase “Lahat ay kinuha sa kaniya”, which shows that Tata Selo has
many problems in his life that he feels like he doesn’t have everything with him. From he doesn’t own the land
anymore, second is that he killed Kabesang Tano that leads him to imprisonment, lastly, there is no one that he
loves him anymore.
4. I will end this fiction at least making Tata Selo feel loved because it is clear that Tata Selo has lost hope.

2. How is Saling depicted in the fiction?

described in the fiction?
2. Do they have meanings or are they symbols of what?

2.
3.
4.
5.
New Historicism
1. The year that the story has been written is 19th century since the story itself shows how farmers struggle on defending their
works in order to feed their families three times a day.
2. It is somehow the same with the people at the present time, fighting for their country, fighting for their selves and fighting
for their rights. This story shows how a Filipino fight when it comes to his family and country.
Formalism
1. When there is a rally on the front of the municipal hall.
2. Yes, since there are many people at the front of municipal hall, we can easily say that there is some rally at the municipal
hall.
3. The characters and scenes that the story shows made me think of revolutionary times, because of the municipal hall and the
Tata Selo fighting for himself in order to stay at where he works.
