Cómo Los Tiempos Verbales Se Usan en La Narrativa en Inglés
The basic tenses in English are: Past, Present and Future, but not everything is
that simple, otherwise there would be no reason to explain this topic. These
grammatical tenses have variabilities that make the expressions more specific and
describe the exact time in which an action takes place.
These three times are divided into the following variations:
Simple tense. Express when the action occurs.
Progressive tense. They are actions that are being carried out.
Perfect tense. Communicates actions that have already been completed.
Perfect progressive tense. Indicates that the action started, continued and was
completed.
I had watched TV all day. I had to get out and go to the job
Simple past:
It is used to mention actions that started and ended at a certain time.
I watched TV
Past Continuous:
This tense is used to talk about an action that was in progress in the past.
I was watching TV
Present perfect:
It is used to refer to an action that started in the past and is still ongoing.
