LET’S INFER!

Activity 1. Answer the following questions.

1. Discuss how internet works.

-The internet is an important part of our lives today. The modern
world would not work without it, with the information and the
connections that it offers. Whether we like it or not, the internet is
here to stay, which means there are opportunities for everyone to
take advantage of and create a life that they want to live. However,
like any system in our world, it has its downsides and its benefits.

2. Discuss how the browser and Internet link to each other.

-The browser and Internet are two technologies that work together
to create a system of information. The browser is software used by
users to access the web and by developers to create websites. The
Internet is a collection of computer networks that can be accessed
from any connected device, such as a laptop, desktop, or tablet.
Without the web browser software and internet connection, these
technologies would not exist on modern computers.

3. Discuss why we use protocols.

-A protocol is basically just an agreed-upon set of rules for how to
behave in certain situations. For example, when using Skype to
have a video call and chat at the same time, it's often customary
to greet the participants before starting your conversation.

Activity 1. In this activity, you are free to browse the Internet to look for
appropriate answers

1. Give at least 5 key points of history in internet.

#1 - The very first computer-to-computer message was sent over
ARPANET in 1969.
#2 - The first public demonstration of an Internet connection happened in
January 1974 and connected UCLA to Stanford Research Institute (SRI)
via two 2400 bit/s modems and leased phone lines.
#3 - The first text-based website was a bulletin board system (BBS) called
"The Computer Bulletin Board System" and was created in 1980 by Steve
Wozniak and Steve Jobs for the Apple 2 computers.
#4 -It wasn't until the 1990s that computer scientists coined the term
"Internet".
#5 -The first website was created in 1991, not too long after Tim Berners-
Lee and Jef Raskin developed Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) as part
of a CERN project to link different computers together for sharing

information over a
network.

2. Give at least 3 protocols and explain their functions.

#1.) Network management protocols - refer to a set of rules that control
how devices on a network function. Network management protocols are
created in order to prevent unwanted or dangerous interference between
networks. They are also used by network administrators in order to
manage traffic on the network, which helps them ensure efficient use of
system resources and that workers can effectively perform their tasks
without being distracted by unnecessary information.
#2.) Network communication protocols - designed to ensure the correct
operation of a computer or communication service. It's simply the rules
for how to interact with something. In networking, for example, protocols
are used by computers in order to exchange data and coordinate
operation over the internet.
#3.) Network security protocols - conventions that govern how two
computer networks may communicate with each other without conflict.
There can be many different types of security protocol between two
organizations or networks,
