We would like to submit the activity proposal for the conduct of


English Festival on November 2021- December 8,2021 anchored on the
following objectives.

1. Keep on track of the DepEd’s road map in pushing educational


quality while adopting the new normal learning delivery
modalities.
2. Acquaint oneself to learning while having fun.
3. Recognize the value of reading amidst the pandemic
4. Appreciate the significance of developing the five macro skills.
5. Invigorate the team-spirit through group performance by
ensuring that the safety and health protocol is followed.
6. Help the slow readers improve their reading skill through a
reading buddy -teacher/English Club Officers/parent.
7. Follow instruction and meet the deadline.

This will be a month-long activity from November 2- December


8,2021 to be participated by students, parents and teachers. December
8,2021 will be the release of the pre-recorded video of the culminating
activity which will be posted on the Facebook Page of Sogod National High
School. Most of the activities will be done online.

ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

I. Title: Project I-SPELL


Improve Students’ performance and Elevate Level of Learning in
Literacy.

II. Rationale

The two years pandemic has created an immense impact on


education. It has made a huge hole in the spiral progression of
competency for some of them were not mastered by learners. As a result,
the suppose to be mastered grade level competency were lost and have to
be recovered through remediation activities that could help them learn the
unmastered skill needed for their present grade level. The school adopted
the Modular-Print modality during the pandemic and the assessment
results as well as the authenticity of students’ outputs were compromised.
The face-to-face classes of the students revealed evident learning
gaps in word recognition, spelling, reading comprehension and writing
skills. The result of the assessment conducted shows that there are 4
Word readers in Grade 7, 50 students under Frustration level,75 students
under instructional level, and 70 independent readers. Meaning 150
students have to be given intervention from grade 7-10.
To elevate the student’ learning level, the proponent has proposed a
reading remediation program which is the project I-SPELL Improve
Students’ performance and Elevate Level of Learning. This program will
focus Intervention for Frustration and Instruction level learners. The
independent learners shall be given Enhancement Activities. Partnership
shall be intensified since this program is anchored on project REVAMP
Recover and Enhance Vital Abilities Meaning fully through Partnership

Project I-SPELL is the Recovery program for literacy on Sogod National

losses of the students in literarcy.Activities such as remediation of
struggling readers through tutoring and remediation classes, spelling,
vocabulary, and

teaching personnel.

IV. Resources Needed:

Delivery Platform:
Mixed online and Face to Face with strict adherence to IATF protocols
considering the manageable number of slow readers and Reading buddy
spacious venue to observe social distancing with available health
essentials required to reduce the possibility of contamination.
