COURSE–MASTERS OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES IN INFORMATICS

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Respected Graduate Committee members,

It must be accepted that, in the era of technology, significant amount of data and
information is generated on a daily basis. As it is a truth that information is everything,
we have to look for information which matters and has some meaning. Informatics is a
field to acquire and enhance knowledge that turns this tremendous amount of data and
information to facilitate human lives in many fields like Education, Healthcare, Social,
Security, Privacy as well as Environment. I always have a keen interest in data
processing, gathering and analyzing. Masters of Professional Science in Informatics will
give me an opportunity to fulfill my enthusiasm.

I have accomplished my bachelor’sdegree in the field of Computer Science and

Engineering from Parul Institute of Engineering andTechnology, Vadodara, Gujarat,
India. I scored an average CGPA 6.76, which is a result of my hard work during my
graduate studies.I have passed my SSC(10th Standard) and HSC(12th Standard) with
76.15% and 53% respectively from Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board. In
the span of 4 years of my graduate career I studied subjects related to Computer Science.
It covered subjects like Database Management System, Computer Programming and
Utilization, Data and File Structure, Operating System, Object Oriented Programming
with JAVA, Information Security, Theory of Computation, Business Intelligence and
Data Mining. I have passed all this core subjects. I was also taught coding languages like
C, C++ and JAVA. I actively participated in coding competitions like Codevita.

I did my academic project “Logistic and Chaotic Image Encryption” onInformation

Security in which I did using JAVA language(BLOWFISH algorithm) as a frontend and
SQL as a backend. By performing this final year project I gained knowledge of various
techniques to encrypt data and informationby using BLOWFISH algorithm. At the end I
was able to encrypt images by using BLOWFISH algorithm and studiedvarious methods
by which plaintext can be converted into cipher text.

As I want to pursue masters in Informatics field, I believe your university can provide me
the best platform to fulfill my future goals and enhance my knowledge in the field of my
interest.This particular course can serve me better future opportunities in many industries.
I would be able to furnish my knowledge of experimental as well as theoretical concepts
at your university.

When I searched for the best country which suits for me to accomplish my master’s
education, I came to know that United States of America is the most acceptable option.
This country gives world class education environment to the students seeking masters in
Informatics. Masters of Professional Studies in Informatics done in United States is an
internationally accepted course and it can help me to have great career opportunities
worldwide.

I would be pleased if offered an opportunity to pursue masters in this field at your reputed
