STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Technology has always fascinated me. It has played a major role in revolutionising the world.
Computer Technology has entered every aspect of our lives and digitization is the key growth
driver. My desire to learn more about this field has encouraged me to apply in your esteemed
institution.

I completed my Secondary and Higher Secondary studies from Dadabhai Naoroji High
School and have scored 62% in my 10th grade and 58% in 12th. I have done my Bachelors of
Engineering in Computer Science Engineering from Pacific University. The subjects that I
studied as a part of my course were Operating System, Computer Graphics, Computer
Networks, Programming Languages (like C, C++, Java), Algorithms, etc. The first year
lectures of my undergraduate study were about freshman courses such as Mechanical, Civil,
and Electrical. This solidified my interest in Computer science and exposed me to the
enormous potential of this developing field. As I studied about computers in depth, it
widened my approach in various concepts. The ones that intrigued me most were Operating
System, Data Warehouse, Data Mining, and Programming. I completed my undergraduate
studies with 67% score.

I completed summer training at HCL and I made project on “Information Hub” in PHP. My
final year project was titled “Student Information System”. It is a PHP web application
which was made for college management system. It is a tool to provide the information of
student as well as courses according to the semesters. This application made current system
completely paperless, fast and easily accessible.

Apart from my curriculum, I have attended all the industrial visits that were organised by my
college. The most inspiring one was the visit to the Tech Mahindra (Delhi) which is the
provider of information technology, networking technology solutions and Business Process
Outsourcing to the telecommunications industry. It gave us an exposure to the actual working
of the business and industry. I had also attended ISTE WORKSHOP on Aakash Android
Application Programming which was conducted by Indian Institute of Technology
Bombay in Feb-Mar, 2013.

Furthermore, I did work at Radiant Web Studio as a PHP Developer. I worked on Product
base application development and Web Designing. This has allowed me to be up to date with
latest developments in the field and enhance my knowledge through active interactions with
clients and fellow employees.

I am aware of the challenges of a post-graduate study course and even know that it requires a
firm grasp of core concepts, a capacity to work hard with perseverance and the ability to
think differently. These qualities when coupled with a motivating and supportive
environment like the one at your College would definitely produce the best results. The
course of Master of Science in computer science at your College would provide me the
conceptual knowledge through the eminent faculty and academic facilities as well as the
practical know-how through project work and the research facilities.

Moreover, when a student chooses his destination as U.S.A, he would never have a second
thought. U.S.A has set a very high standard and rigorous quality control which promises that
I can well earn a high quality education that will open doors for future prospects and career
over a long term.
