STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

"Concern for man and his fate must always form the chief interest of all technical
endeavours ... Never forget this in the midst of your diagrams and equations".

To skim through these quotes daily, said by one of the greatest minds ever, made my mind
incline towards a goal that thrives in achieving perfection in whatever field I choose.
Basically interested in anything amazing in my vicinity, my enthusiasm towards electronics
geared attention when my 9th grade teacher explained us the complete phenomena behind
the working of a radio. The meticulous attention needed to be paid to the components to get
an undistorted output amazed me. It was then, when I decided that I would pursue a career
in the abundant field of electronics. My goal is to develop into a proficient electronic engineer
with profound knowledge and to productively translate the technical cognition into practicable
applications that will benefit the society. I aspire to pursue Masters Degree in Electronics
Engineering at your university.

After deciding at a very early age about my career I paid ardent attention to physics and
mathematics, the basics to electronics. Graduating high school with first class I got admitted
in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology, Vasad (affiliated with Gujarat
Technological University) which is well renowned for its academic excellence and stood at
top among all other colleges in my state. My quest for electronics followed me to college
which was why I chose electronics and communication engineering as my field of expertise

During the course of my undergraduate study I was exposed to various courses with
applications like Electromagnetic field, Linear Integrated Circuits, Electronics Circuits, Pulse
and digital circuits, Digital Signal Processing, Micro processors & Micro Controllers which
formed the base for my well sculpted Undergraduate. Out of the box thinking was always
one of my strongest aspects which enabled me to learn lots of new stuff progressively.
Without being content of what was being taught in college I always ventured into the open to
learn about the innovative inventions we encounter in our everyday life.

One such technical venture was to attain summer internship during all four years of my
undergraduate studies at ADVANCE ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS learning Electronic
Assembly and Testing, Transformer Manufacturing and Testing, Electronic Panel Wiring and
Assembly, Testing and Quality Assurance and Quality Control, Design of Digital logic circuits
for thyristor pulse width modulation systems for catholic protection transformer rectifier unit
and Micro processor based data logging systems. As a result I gained practical experience
on how to design and configure electronic equipments, making them robust and in
accordance to the QA QC norms. Also Industrial training in power and lightning boards,
power factor improvement panel, starter panels and sensors, electrical instruments and
automation at SENSEWELL INSTRUMENTS PVT. LTD. enriched me with immense of
practical knowledge.

To further enhance my knowledge I underwent an Industrial visit at BSNL, a government

owned company which is the largest provider of fixed telephony in India. There I was
exposed to the various innovations in telecommunication systems ever since the advent of
telephones. Even a working model of the obsolete relay based switching system was there

which provided me with a shrewd insight of how archaic telephone switching system
performed. All these experiences developed in me a keenness to know more. Attending
workshop on Antenna and Microwave Components Design Using Software Simulator drove
us to an easy approach in designing and creating various antennas.

Deeply kindled by my zest for electronics I spent the spare time in my home designing small
electric circuits like water level indicator, infra red door alarm and some other wireless
circuits and researching about sending fragrances through cell phones. For this I had to
learn a lot about the various components involved and this gave me an overall idea about
the electric circuit I was working upon. This has become my hobby and it fascinates me to
know how such miniatures can control our lives, we have been constantly evolving from lofty
laptops to palmtops to smart phones-such a small devices.

It was during my final year when I was faced with a challenge of coming up with a final
project which would decide the outcome of my final semester grades. I decided to address a
problem which was so commonly prevalent in the Multinational engineering and technology
giant LARSEN & TOUBRO (L&T) Knowledge city, Vadodara, the security of data which was
always deemed apocryphal. I always believed that the true purpose of technology was to
serve mankind and to provide a world which would be devoid of any defects or a world with
zero loopholes. A project on "RFID ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM WITH SECURITY
WEBCAM" was very much appreciated and fetched me AA grades- mark of full score. While
working on this project I had to work on the project from the ground root level and learnt a lot
along the way. A brief intro on image capturing was required as it served basic webcam
function of capturing the scene and transmitting it to the host. as the interface between the
software and hardware for my project. A deep insight of the Radio Frequency Identification
and Detection was also necessary as the key purpose to synchronize and transmit data,
acquired through RFID tags and reader.

I would also, at this juncture like to pinpoint the fact that I have been widely recognized for
my leadership qualities too. I consider my analytical aptitude and my ability to grasp
information quickly a valuable asset. Although I have gained much knowledge in Electronics
during this entire journey from school to the college, the gamut of knowledge that still
remains to be explored is boundless. I strongly believe that a graduate study at your
university is the best way that can really help me achieve my goal. I wish to gain a more
global perspective and expand my horizon to international standards in a more specialization
oriented curriculum. I also find that my goal is in line with the universities' principles and if
selected would utilize the fullest of my resources to serve the ultimate purpose of gaining
extensive knowledge that would be beneficial to the society.
