programs that provide financial or other aid to individuals or groups who cannot support themselves is
definitely or unquestionable a test of their strength and their promise to represent and amount of
people interest in the hall or access of the government

What are political parties defined as?

A political party is made up of individuals who organize to win elections, operate government, and
influence public policy. The Democratic and Republican parties are currently the primary parties in
Congress.

Major types of party systems

 One party system- A one-party system, or single-party system is a type of sovereign

state or a country in which only one political party has the right to form the
government, usually based on the existing constitution. In this case opposition parties
against the dominant ruling party are allowed, but have no real chance of gaining
power. For example, in China all power is vested in the Communist Party of China.
 What are the 3 types of party systems?
 2.3.1 Federal party systems.
 2.3.2 Provincial party systems.
 2.3.3 Territorial party systems.
 CCP CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY

 Two party system- The 'two-party system' is a term used to describe a political system where 2
major political parties dominate (command) because they receive the majority of votes. One of
the 2 parties typically holds a majority in the parliament and forms government while the other
is opposition.

 Two major political parties- the Democrats and Republicans have been the two main parties.

 For example, in the United States, the Bahamas, Jamaica, and Zimbabwe, the sense of two-party
system describes an arrangement in which all or nearly all elected officials belong to either of
the two major parties, and third parties rarely win any seats in the legislature.
 Dominant party system- Dominant-parties and their domination of a state, develop out of one-
sided electoral and party constellations within a multi-party system (particularly under
presidential systems of governance), and as such differ from states under a one-party system,
which are intricately organized around a specific party.

 Example- An example of a genuine(sincere) democratic dominant-party system would be the

pre-Emergency India, which was almost universally viewed by all as being a democratic state,
even though the only major national party at that time was the Indian National Congress.

 Multiparty system- In political science or the study of politics and power from domestic,
international, and comparative perspectives. It entails understanding political ideas, ideologies,
institutions, policies, processes, and behavior, as well as groups, classes, government,
diplomacy, law, strategy, and war. a multi-party system is a political system in which multiple
political parties across the political spectrum run for national elections, and all have the capacity
to gain control of government offices, separately or in coalition.
 Argentina, Armenia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, India,
Indonesia, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines, Poland, Sweden,
Tunisia, and Ukraine are examples of nations that have used a multi-party system effectively in
their democracies.
