008-006 Coolant Filter

Install

CAUTION

Mechanical over-tightening can

distort the threads or damage
the filter head.

Apply a light film of lubricating oil

to the coolant filter gasket sealing
surface before installing the coolant
filter.

Install the filter as specified by the

manufacturer.

CAUTION

Severe engine damage will result

if the shutoff valve is left closed.

After the filter has been changed,

open the shutoff valve and install
 the radiator pressure cap.

Operate the engine until the

coolant temperature is above 82°C
[180°F], and check for coolant
leaks.

After the air has been purged from

the system and a minimum of 30
minutes of operation, check the
coolant level and top off as needed
with premixed coolant.
