Significance of study

This study seeks to identify the factors that contributed to the existing question of why
several college students who were advanced ROTC officers were unable to complete
the Bachelor of Science in Criminology, a four-year course, on time. The researcher
would provide the antecedent leading to the delay in order to inform the study's readers
and other researchers that a college student that failed to graduate on time is not
someone who didn't take his/her studies seriously. The researchers were trying to
inform the public that there were sudden and unexpected occurrences that would affect
the performance of the respondents. That being said, being at the tertiary level of
education is all about survival and acceptance. Because things are uncertain in college,
there are a variety of factors that will affect them and the failures, disappointments, and
frustrations in college are some of the common things that the respondents
experienced. However, whatever happens, it's all about acceptance and refusing to quit.
This study will benefit the following:

The students will benefit from this study, particularly those who choose to study Bachelor of
Science in Criminology as their college degree, as it will help them decide whether to take an
advanced training course in ROTC and be an advanced ROTC officer or just be a basic cadet and
have more time to focus on their academic aspects. As finishing the degree on time is what most
students aim to achieve, extending years in college is what they're trying to evade.

The instructors and teachers would also benefit from this study as it would become their guide as
to the implementation of all the disciplines needed to mold the respondents to the person they
want to be. This will cause the instructors to weigh things in order to have considerations for
advanced ROTC officers who sleep during class hours in the classroom, as they were tired from
performing their duties and responsibilities as an advanced ROTC officer prior to attending the
class. This will also cause them to lessen the duties and responsibilities given to the respondents
in order for them to have more time and energy for studying the lessons and performing well in
class.

The schools in different colleges, universities, and other similar institutions that are
implementing ROTC to have adjustments in their way of molding, teaching, and disciplining the
advanced ROTC officers to avoid having students who aren't performing well in class and would
probably add to the number of delayed students in accomplishing their degree.
This study would inform parents that it's not all about sending their child to college, supporting
them financially, and that's it. It is for them to understand that college life is not easy and their
children, aside from being supported financially, also need understanding and support in the
other dimensions of wellness. Students being delayed in college doesn't make them less as
students and children of their parents or feel ashamed about it, as getting the degree is not a race
and it's all about those who refuse to quit.

This study would benefit the community's people by making them stop having hasty
generalization fallacies for the delayed students in college, as it would not be of any help and
would only worsen the already affected dimension of wellness for the students. For them to have
further learning and understanding of the unknown factors and to let them view things from
various perspectives.

This study would also benefit other researchers who have the same goal and would use it as their
Review of Related Studies in a local setting. This study would be their basis in determining the
reasons why there are advanced ROTC officers who couldn't make it on time.
