Figure 2. Anti-proliferative activity of C-glycosyl flavone (A) against MCF-7, Hep-G2 and HT-29 cell
lines, (B) tamoxifen against MCF-7, (C) 5-fluorouracil against HT-29 and (D) Hep-G2. (E) Effect of C-
glycosyl flavone on cell cycle phases of MCF-7, (F) HT-29 and (G) Hep-G2 using flow cytometer. The
values are represented as % of cell population. Each value represents mean±standard error of three
independent experiments. *P<0.05 compared to control.
Comments:
1. The results of each common medicine against their targeted cancer cell line were presented in
a clear and understandable way.
2. Understanding what tamoxifen and 5-fluorouracil are was quite difficult if I just read the
figure’s caption. I had to google their names and their uses. Same goes for the cancer cell
lines (MCF-7, Hep-G2, and HT-29)
3. It did not explicitly state the culture parameters for the cancer cell lines.
4. The relationship between the tested substances and their anti-proliferation activity were clear.
5. The graphs show the error bars.
Table 2. Detection of constituents in roots of M. pudica by chromatographic scheme

Comments:
1. Appropriate use of footnotes.
2. Uses the standard ‘journal accepted’ table layout.
3. Clearly states what is being tested and its results.
4. Clearly states the ratios of each solvent system.
5. Clearly shows the relationship between the reagent and the inference.
