The District of Solon Springs, located in the Village of Solon Springs in northwestern Wisconsin just south of
Duluth/Superior, is seeking applicants to fill an elementary level Special Education teacher vacancy. This vacancy is
the result of an internal transfer to another position. The position starts with the 2022-23 school year. Details of the
position include:
• Applicants should be certified or be able to be certified to work in Special Education for Grades PK-6.
Preference will be given to individuals who are certified, but consideration will be given to individuals who
are able to obtain temporary certification.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff through the IEP process for each student is
important.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that
reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students. Present subject matter according to
guidelines established by IEP.
• Successful applicants must be able to work in an environment that meets a wide range of student needs
using a variety of strategies, to be able work closely with the classroom and other Special Education staff.
• Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional
development of students
• Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals,
and teachers. Maintain a positive and professional relationship with colleagues, students, and parents. Use
effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
• Extra-Curricular coaching opportunities may be available.
