Recommended to recite this supplication, particularized for this day, that is mentioned in the book of ‘Iqb¡l al-A`m¡l’:(1))
O Allah: I verily beseech You, O Allah; all¡humma inny as-aluka y¡
O Allah; O Allah; all¡hu y¡ all¡hu y¡ all¡hu,
،‫ﷲ‬
ُ ‫ﷲ ﻳﺎ ﺍ‬
ُ ‫ﷲ ﻳﺎ ﺍ‬
ُ ‫ ﻳﺎ ﺍ‬‫ﺄﹸﻟﻚ‬‫ ﺇﱢﻧﻲ ﺃﺳ‬‫ﻬﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﱠﻠ‬
You are Allah; the Eternal, Whose anta all¡hu alqad¢mu al-azaliyyu
Great Kingdom is everlasting. almaliki al`a¨¢mi,
،‫ﻢ‬
‫ﻌﻈﻴ ﹺ‬ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟ‬
 ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ﻟﻲ‬‫ ﺍﻷ ﹶﺯ‬‫ﷲ ﺍﻟ ﹶﻘﺪﻳﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﺖﺍ‬
‫ﺃﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
You are Allah; the Ever-living, the Self-
anta all¡hu al¦ayyu alqayy£mu ‫ـﻤﻴﻊ‬‫ﻮﻟﻰ ﺍﻟﺴ‬ ‫ـ‬‫ ﺍﹾﻟﻤ‬‫ـﻮﻡ‬‫ ﺍﻟ ﹶﻘﻴ‬‫ﺤﻲ‬
 ‫ﷲ ﺍﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﺖﺍ‬
‫ﺃﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
Subsisting, the Master, the All-hearing,
almawl¡ alssam¢`u alba¥¢ru,
and the All-seeing. ،‫ﺒﺼﻴﺮ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ‬
O He to Whose Godhead, might and
majesty
y¡ mani al`izzu wal-jal¡lu, ،‫ﻝ‬
‫ﺠﻼ ﹸ‬
 ‫ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻌ ﱡﺰ ﻭ‬ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ‬
‫ﻣ ﹺ‬ ‫ﻳﺎ‬
And grandeur and greatness wal-kibriy¡‘u wal-`a¨amatu, ،‫ﻤ ﹸﺔ‬ ‫ﻈ‬
‫ﻌ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ‬‫ﺒ ﹺﺮﻳﺎ ُﺀ ﻭ‬ ‫ﻜ‬
 ‫ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
wal-quwwatu wal-`ilmu wal-
And power and knowledge and potency
qudratu,
،‫ ﹸﺓ‬‫ﺪﺭ‬
 ‫ﺍﻟ ﹸﻘ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﻌ ﹾﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ‬‫ ﹸﺓ ﻭ‬‫ﺍﻟ ﹸﻘﻮ‬‫ﻭ‬
And light and spirit wal-nn£ru wal-rr£¦u, ،‫ﻭﺡ‬‫ﺍﻟﺮ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺍﻟ ﱡﻨﻮﺭ‬‫ﻭ‬
And volition and tenderness and mercy wal-mash¢’atu wal-¦an¡nu wal- ‫ﻤﻠﹾـﻚ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ‬‫ـ ﹸﺔ ﻭ‬‫ﺣﻤ‬
 ‫ﺍﻟﺮ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺤﻨـﺎﻥ‬
 ‫ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻤﺸﻴ ﹶﺌ ﹸﺔ ﻭ‬ ‫ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
and lordship—all these belong to His rra¦matu wal-mulku
Godhead. lirub£biyyatihi, ،‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﺑﻮﹺﺑ‬‫ﻟﺮ‬
To Your light, all lights glowed; n£ruka ashraqa lahu kullu n£rin, ،‫ﻞ ﻧﻮ ﹴﺭ‬
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱡ‬‫ ﹶﻟﻪ‬‫ﻕ‬‫ﺷﺮ‬
‫ ﺃ ﹾ‬‫ﻙ‬‫ﻧﻮﺭ‬
And all fires abated; wa khamada lahu kullu n¡rin, ،‫ﻞ ﻧﺎ ﹴﺭ‬
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱡ‬‫ ﹶﻟﻪ‬‫ﻤﺪ‬ ‫ﺧ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ﻭ‬
And all darkness submitted. w¡n¦a¥ara lahu kullu al¨¨ulum¡ti. .‫ﺕ‬
 ‫ﻈ ﹸﻠﻤﺎ‬
‫ﻞ ﺍﻟ ﱡ‬
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱡ‬‫ ﹶﻟﻪ‬‫ﺼﺮ‬
‫ﺤ ﹶ‬
 ‫ﻭﺍﹾﻧ‬
I beseech You by Your Name that You as-aluka bismika alladhy ‫ﻣﻚ‬ ‫ﻗﺪ‬ ‫ﻦ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺷ ﹶﺘ ﹶﻘ ﹾﻘ ﹶﺘﻪ‬
‫ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺍ ﹾ‬‫ﻤﻚ‬ ‫ﺳ‬
 ‫ ﺑﺎ‬‫ﺄﹸﻟﻚ‬‫ﺃﺳ‬
derived from You eternity and infinity ishtaqaqtahu min qidamika wa
and light; azalika wa n£rika, ،‫ﻧﻮ ﹺﺭﻙ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﻟﻚ‬‫ﺃ ﹶﺯ‬‫ﻭ‬
wa b¡lismi al-a`¨ami alladhy
And by the Grandest Name that You
ishtaqaqtahu min kibriy¡’ika wa ‫ﻦ‬
 ‫ـ‬‫ ﻣ‬‫ﻢ ﺍﻟﱠـﺬﻱ ﺍﺷﹾـ ﹶﺘ ﹶﻘ ﹾﻘ ﹶﺘﻪ‬
‫ﻋﻈﹶـ ﹺ‬ ‫ﻢ ﺍﻷ‬
‫ﺳﹺ‬
 ‫ﺑﺎﻹ‬‫ﻭ‬
derived from Your grandeur and
jabar£tika wa `a¨amatika wa
omnipotence and greatness and might; ،‫ﻋ ﱢﺰﻙ‬ ‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺘﻚ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻈ‬
‫ﻋ ﹶ‬ ‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺗﻚ‬‫ﺒﺮﻭ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺋﻚ‬‫ﺒ ﹺﺮﻳﺎ‬ ‫ﻛ‬
`izzika,
And by Your magnanimity that You wa bijuwdika alladhy ishtaqaqtahu
derived from Your mercy; min ra¦matika,
،‫ﺘﻚ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺣ‬
 ‫ﻦ ﺭ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺷ ﹶﺘ ﹶﻘ ﹾﻘ ﹶﺘﻪ‬
‫ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺍ ﹾ‬‫ﺩﻙ‬ ‫ﺠﻮ‬
 ‫ﹺﺑ‬‫ﻭ‬
And by Your mercy that You derived wa bira¦matika allaty
from Your clemency; ishtaqaqtah¡ min rafatika,
،‫ﺘﻚ‬ ‫ﺃ ﹶﻓ‬‫ﻦ ﺭ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺷ ﹶﺘ ﹶﻘ ﹾﻘ ﹶﺘﻬﺎ‬
‫ ﺍﱠﻟﺘﻲ ﺍ ﹾ‬‫ﺘﻚ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺣ‬
 ‫ﹺﺑﺮ‬‫ﻭ‬
And by Your clemency that You wa birafatika allaty ishtaqaqtah¡
derived from Your magnanimity; min j£dika,
،‫ﺩﻙ‬ ‫ﻦ ﺟﻮ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺷ ﹶﺘ ﹶﻘ ﹾﻘ ﹶﺘﻬﺎ‬
‫ ﺍﱠﻟﺘﻲ ﺍ ﹾ‬‫ﺘﻚ‬ ‫ﺃ ﹶﻓ‬‫ﹺﺑﺮ‬‫ﻭ‬
And by Your magnanimity that You
wa bij£dika alladhy ishtaqaqtahu
derived from Your knowledge of the
min ghaybika,
،‫ﻴ ﹺﺒﻚ‬ ‫ﻦ ﹶﻏ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺷ ﹶﺘ ﹶﻘ ﹾﻘ ﹶﺘﻪ‬
‫ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺍ ﹾ‬‫ﺩﻙ‬ ‫ﹺﺑﺠﻮ‬‫ﻭ‬
unseen;
And by Your knowledge of the unseen,
and Your comprehension of all things,
wa bighaybika wa i¦¡§atika wa ‫ـﻚ‬‫ﻭﺍﻣ‬‫ﺩ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ـﻚ‬‫ﻗﻴﺎﻣ‬ ‫ ﻭ‬‫ـﻚ‬‫ﺇﺣﺎ ﹶﻃﺘ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﻴ ﹺﺒﻚ‬ ‫ﹺﺑ ﹶﻐ‬‫ﻭ‬
qiy¡mika wa daw¡mika wa
and Your subsistence, and Your
qidamika. .‫ﻣﻚ‬ ‫ﻗﺪ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
perpetuity, and Your eternity.
And I beseech You by all of Your Most wa as-aluka bijam¢`i asm¡’ika

 ‫ ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ﺋﻚ‬‫ﺳﻤﺎ‬
 ‫ﻊﺃ‬

There is no god save You; the One, the
l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta al-w¡¦idu al- ‫ﻤﺪ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟﺼﱠـ‬‫ﺮﺩ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟ ﹶﻔ‬‫ﺣﺪ‬
 ‫ ﺍﻷ‬‫ﺣﺪ‬
 ‫ﺖ ﺍﻟﻮﺍ‬
‫ﻻ ﺃﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
‫ ﺇ ﹼ‬‫ﻻ ﺇﹶﻟﻪ‬
One and Only, the Unique, the
a¦adu alfardu al¥¥amadu al¦ayyu,
Besought of all, the Ever-living, ،‫ﺤﻲ‬
 ‫ﺍﻟ‬
The Foremost of all things, the Last, al-awwalu al-¡khiru al¨¨¡hiru
the Evident, the Immanent. alb¡§inu
،‫ﻃﻦ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟﺒﺎ‬‫ﻫﺮ‬ ‫ﻈﺎ‬
‫ ﺍﻟ ﹼ‬‫ﺧﺮ‬
 ‫ﻝ ﺍﻵ‬
‫ ﹸ‬‫ﺍﻷﻭ‬
To You do belong all great names, wa laka kullu asmin `a¨¢min, ،‫ﻢ‬
‫ﻋﻈﻴ ﹴ‬ ‫ﻢ‬
‫ﺳﹴ‬ ‫ﻞﺍ‬
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱡ‬‫ﹶﻟﻚ‬‫ﻭ‬
And all lights and unseen things, wa kullu n£rin wa ghaybin, ،‫ﺐ‬
‫ﻴ ﹴ‬ ‫ ﹶﻏ‬‫ﻞ ﻧﻮ ﹴﺭ ﻭ‬
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱡ‬‫ﻭ‬
And all knowledge and all known
things,
wa `ilmin wa ma`l£min, ،‫ﻌﻠﻮ ﹴﻡ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻢ ﻭ‬
‫ﻋ ﹾﻠ ﹴ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
And all kingdoms and all affairs. wa mulkin wa sha’nin, ،‫ﻥ‬
 ‫ﺷﺄ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ﻚ ﻭ‬
 ‫ﻣ ﹾﻠ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
And due to that there is no god save
wa bil¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta taqaddasta ‫ﹰﺍ‬‫ﻋﻠﹸـﻮ‬ ‫ﺖ‬
‫ـ ﹶ‬‫ﹶﺗﻌﺎﹶﻟﻴ‬‫ﺖ ﻭ‬
‫ﺳ ﹶ‬
 ‫ﺖ ﹶﺗ ﹶﻘﺪ‬
‫ﻻ ﺃﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
‫ ﺇ ﹼ‬‫ﹺﺑﻼ ﺇﹶﻟﻪ‬‫ﻭ‬
You, You have been Holy and Elevated
wa ta`¡layta `uluwwan kab¢ran.
in high exaltation. .‫ﹶﻛﺒﻴﺮﹰﺍ‬
O Allah: I beseech You by all names all¡humma inny as-aluka bikulli ‫ﻫﺮ‬ ‫ ﻃﺎ‬‫ ﹶﻟﻚ‬‫ﻫﻮ‬ ‫ﻢ‬
‫ﺳﹴ‬ ‫ﻞﺍ‬
‫ﻜ ﱢ‬
‫ ﹺﺑ ﹸ‬‫ﺄﹸﻟﻚ‬‫ ﺇﻧﹼﻲ ﺃﺳ‬‫ﻬﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠ‬
that are Yours; names that are pure asmin huwa laka §¡hirun
and immaculate mu§ahharun, ،‫ﻬﺮ‬ ‫ﻄ‬
‫ﻣ ﹶ‬
§ayyibun mub¡rakun
And wholesome and blessed and holy;
muqaddasun,
،‫ﺱ‬‫ﻣ ﹶﻘﺪ‬ ‫ﻙ‬‫ﻣﺒﺎﺭ‬ ‫ﻴﺐ‬ ‫ﹶﻃ‬
Whether You revealed in Your Books,
anzaltahu fy kutubika wa ‫ﺬ ﹾﻛ ﹺﺮ‬
‫ ﻓـﻲ ﺍﻟـ ﱢ‬‫ﻳﺘﹶـﻪ‬‫ﺟﺮ‬
 ‫ﺃ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ ﻓﻲ ﹸﻛ ﹸﺘ ﹺﺒﻚ‬‫ﺃﹾﻧ ﹶﺰﹾﻟ ﹶﺘﻪ‬
or You added to the Reminder that You
ajraytahu fy aldhdhikri `indaka,
keep, ،‫ﻙ‬‫ﻋ ﹾﻨﺪ‬
Or You used it with any of Your wa tasammayta bihi liman sh’ita
creatures that You willed min khalqika
‫ﻘﻚ‬ ‫ﺧ ﹾﻠ‬
‫ﻦ ﹶ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺖ‬
‫ﺷ ﹾﺌ ﹶ‬
 ‫ﻦ‬
 ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺖ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ﻴ ﹶ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺴ‬
 ‫ﹶﺗ‬‫ﻭ‬
Or by which any of Your angels or aw sa-alaka bihi a¦adun min
Prophets and Messengers besought mal¡’ikatika wa anbiy¡’ika wa ‫ـﻚ‬‫ﺃﹾﻧ ﹺﺒﻴﺎﺋ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺘﻚ‬ ‫ﻜ‬
‫ﺋ ﹶ‬‫ﻣﻼ‬ ‫ﻦ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺣﺪ‬
 ‫ﻪ ﺃ‬ ‫ ﹺﺑ‬‫ﺳﺄﹶﻟﻚ‬
 ‫ﻭ‬ ‫ﺃ‬
You for granting him a welfare, and rusulika bikhayrin tu`§¢hi
،‫ﻴ ﹶﺘﻪ‬ ‫ﻄ‬
‫ﻋ ﹶ‬ ‫ﻪ ﹶﻓﺄ‬ ‫ﻌﻄﻴ‬ ‫ﻴ ﹴﺮ ﹸﺗ‬ ‫ﺨ‬
‫ ﹺﺑ ﹶ‬‫ﻠﻚ‬ ‫ﺳ‬
 ‫ﺭ‬‫ﻭ‬
You did, fa`§aytahu,
Or for saving him from an evil, and
You did,
aw sharrin ta¥rifuhu fa¥araftahu, ،‫ ﹾﻓ ﹶﺘﻪ‬‫ﺼﺮ‬
‫ ﹶﻓ ﹶ‬‫ﺼ ﹺﺮ ﹸﻓﻪ‬
‫ ﹶﺗ ﹾ‬‫ﺷﺮ‬
‫ﻭ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺃ‬
And I thus should beseech You by that
name.
yanbaghy an as-alaka bihi. .‫ﻪ‬ ‫ ﹺﺑ‬‫ﺄﹶﻟﻚ‬‫ﻥ ﺃﺳ‬
 ‫ﺒﻐﻲ ﺃ‬ ‫ﻳ ﹾﻨ‬
Hence, I beseech You, O my Lord, to
give me victory over my enemies and
fa as-aluka y¡ rabbi an tan¥urany ‫ﻋﺪﺍﺋﻲ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﺃ‬ ‫ﻧﻲ‬‫ﺼﺮ‬
‫ﻥ ﹶﺗ ﹾﻨ ﹸ‬
 ‫ ﺃ‬‫ﺏ‬‫ ﻳﺎ ﺭ‬‫ﺄﹸﻟﻚ‬‫ﻓﺄﺳ‬
`al¡ a`d¡’y wa taghliba dhikry
make my perception overcome my
`al¡ nisy¡n¢, ،‫ﺴﻴﺎﻧﻲ‬
 ‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﹺﻧ‬ ‫ﺫ ﹾﻛﺮﻱ‬ ‫ﻠﺐ‬ ‫ﹶﺗ ﹾﻐ‬‫ﻭ‬
oblivion.

O Allah: (please) give my intellect a
manifest proof against my lusts,
And attach my choices to appositeness,
And decide piety to be my companion,
And arouse me to thank You for Your
gifts,
And, O Allah; guide me through Your
true guidance to Your straight course
all¡humma ij`al li`aqly `al¡ ‫ـ ﹾﻠﻄﺎﻧ ﹰﺎ‬‫ ﺳ‬‫ـﻮﺍﻱ‬‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﻫ‬ ‫ﻌ ﹾﻘﻠﻲ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﻌ ﹾ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ ﺇ‬‫ﻬﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠ‬
haw¡ya sul§¡nan mub¢nan,
،‫ﻣﺒﻴﻨ ﹰﺎ‬
wa iqrin akhtiy¡ry bi¡lttawf¢qi, ،‫ﻖ‬
‫ﻮﻓﻴ ﹺ‬ ‫ﺘﻴﺎﺭﻱ ﹺﺑﺎﻟ ﱠﺘ‬ ‫ﺧ‬
‫ﻥﺍ ﹾ‬
 ‫ﺇ ﹾﻗ ﹺﺮ‬‫ﻭ‬
wij`al ¥¡¦iby alttaqw¡, ،‫ﺣﺒﻲ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺘ ﹾﻘﻮﻯ‬
 ‫ﻞ ﺻﺎ‬
‫ﻌ ﹾ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ﻭﺇ‬
wa awzi`ny shukraka `al¡
maw¡hibika.
.‫ﻫ ﹺﺒﻚ‬ ‫ﻣﻮﺍ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻰ‬ ‫ﻙ‬‫ﻜﺮ‬
‫ﺷﹾ‬
‫ﻋﻨﻲ ﹸ‬ ‫ﻭ ﹺﺯ‬ ‫ﺃ‬‫ﻭ‬
w¡hdny all¡humma bihud¡ka il¡
‫ﻢ‬
‫ﻘﻴ ﹺ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻠﻚ‬ ‫ﺳﺒﻴ‬
 ‫ ﺇﻟﻰ‬‫ﻬﺪﺍﻙ‬ ‫ ﹺﺑ‬‫ﻬﻢ‬ ‫ﻫﺪﻧﻲ ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠ‬ ‫ﻭﺍ‬
sab¢lika almuq¢mi wa ¥ir¡§ika

and Your right path. almustiq¢mi, ،‫ﻢ‬
‫ﺘﻘﻴ ﹺ‬ ‫ﺴ‬
 ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻃﻚ‬ ‫ﺻﺮﺍ‬
 ‫ﻭ‬
And do not make desires control over wa l¡ tamlik zim¡my ‫ﻤ ﹸﻠﻨـﻲ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ﺕ ﹶﻓ ﹶﺘ‬
‫ﻬﻮﺍ ﹸ‬ ‫ﻚ ﹺﺯﻣـﺎﻣﻲ ﺍﻟﺸﱠـ‬
 ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻻ ﹶﺗ‬‫ﻭ‬
me and thus take me to the way of the alshshahaw¡tu fata¦miluny `al¡
disappointed ones, §ar¢qi almakhdh£l¢na, ،‫ﺨﺬﻭﻟﻴﻦ‬
‫ﻤ ﹾ‬ ‫ﻖ ﺍﹾﻟ‬
‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﹶﻃﺮﻳ ﹺ‬
And intervene between me and the wa ¦ul bayny wa bayna
forbidden things, almunkar¡ti,
،‫ﺕ‬
 ‫ﻜﺮﺍ‬
‫ﻤ ﹾﻨ ﹶ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﺑ‬‫ﻴﻨﻲ ﻭ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﺣ ﹾ‬
 ‫ﻭ‬
And decide for me advantageous
knowledge,
wa ij`al ly `ilman n¡fi`an, ،‫ﻓﻌ ﹰﺎ‬ ‫ﻋ ﹾﻠﻤ ﹰﺎ ﻧﺎ‬ ‫ﻞ ﻟﻲ‬
‫ﻌ ﹾ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ﺍ‬‫ﻭ‬
And implant in my heart the love for

 ‫ـﺮﻭ‬‫ﻤﻌ‬ ‫ ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ـﺐ‬‫ﺱ ﻓـﻲ ﹶﻗﻠﺒـﻲ ﺣ‬
 ‫ﺃ ﹾﻏ ﹺﺮ‬‫ﻭ‬
the good; and do not overtake me all of
wa l¡ takhudhny baghtatan,
a sudden, ،‫ﺑ ﹾﻐ ﹶﺘ ﹰﺔ‬ ‫ﺬﻧﻲ‬
‫ﺧﹾ‬
‫ﹶﺗﺄ ﹸ‬
And accept my repentance; You are
wa tub `al-ayya innaka anta
verily the Oft-returning to mercy, the
alttaww¡bu alrra¦¢mu.
.‫ﺣﻴﻢ‬‫ ﺍﻟﺮ‬‫ﺍﺏ‬‫ﺖ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺘﻮ‬
‫ ﺃﹾﻧ ﹶ‬‫ ﺇﱠﻧﻚ‬‫ﻋ ﹶﻠﻲ‬ ‫ﺐ‬
 ‫ﹸﺗ‬‫ﻭ‬
Merciful.
And (please) acquaint me with the wa `arrifny barakata hdh¡
blessing and felicity of this month, alshshahri wa yumnahu,
،‫ﻤ ﹶﻨﻪ‬ ‫ﻳ‬‫ﻬ ﹺﺮ ﻭ‬ ‫ﺸ‬
‫ ﹶﻛ ﹶﺔ ﻫﺬﺍ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬‫ﺑﺮ‬ ‫ ﹾﻓﻨﻲ‬‫ﻋﺮ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
And confer upon me with its good and warzuqny khayrahu w¡¥rif `anny
keep away from me its evil, sharrahu,
،‫ﻩ‬‫ﺷﺮ‬
‫ﻋ ﹼﻨﻲ ﹶ‬ ‫ﻑ‬
 ‫ﺻ ﹺﺮ‬
‫ﺍ ﹾ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﻩ‬‫ﻴﺮ‬ ‫ﺧ‬
‫ﺭ ﹸﺯ ﹾﻗﻨﻲ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺍ‬‫ﻭ‬
And protect me against what is peril in
it,
wa qiny alma¦dh£ra f¢hi, ،‫ﻪ‬ ‫ ﻓﻴ‬‫ﺤﺬﻭﺭ‬
 ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻗﻨﻲ ﺍﹾﻟ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
And help me do that which I like from wa `inny `al¡ m¡ au¦ibbuhu
the carrying out if its duty, mina alqiy¡mi bi¦aqqihi,
،‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺤ ﱢﻘ‬
 ‫ﻘﻴﺎ ﹺﻡ ﹺﺑ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻣﻦ‬ ‫ﺒﻪ‬ ‫ﺣ‬
 ‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﺎ ﹸﺃ‬ ‫ﻋ ﹼﻨﻲ‬ ‫ﺃ‬‫ﻭ‬
And the recognition of its virtue, wa ma`rifati fa¤lihi, ،‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻀ‬
‫ﺔ ﹶﻓ ﹾ‬ ‫ﻌ ﹺﺮ ﹶﻓ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
And make me of the winners; O the
wa ij`alny f¢hi mina alf¡’iz¢na y¡ ‫ـﻢ‬‫ﺭﺣ‬ ‫ ﻳـﺎ ﺃ‬‫ﺋﺰﻳﻦ‬‫ ﺍﻟﻔـﺎ‬‫ـﻦ‬‫ﻪ ﻣ‬ ‫ﻌ ﹾﻠﻨﻲ ﻓﻴ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ﺍ‬‫ﻭ‬
most Merciful of all those who show

‫ﻤ ﹶﺘﻌﺎ ﹺ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻤﻚ‬ ‫ﺳ‬
 ‫ ﹺﺑﺎ‬‫ﺄﹸﻟﻚ‬‫ ﺇﻧﹼﻲ ﺃﺳ‬‫ﻬﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠ‬

the elevated, the lofty, and the great, ،‫ﻢ‬
‫ﻌﻈﻴ ﹺ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ‬
And by Your Name: the One, the
Besought of all,
wa bismika al-w¡¦idi al¥¥amadi, ،‫ﺪ‬

‫ﺪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬

And by Your Name: the Almighty, the
All-high;
wa bismika al`iz¢zi al-a`l¡, ،‫ﻋﻠﻰ‬ ‫ﻌﺰﻳ ﹺﺰ ﺍﻷ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻤﻚ‬ ‫ﺳ‬
 ‫ﹺﺑﺎ‬‫ﻭ‬
And by all of Your Most Excellent
Names.
wa biasm¡’ika al¦usn¡ kullih¡, ،‫ﺴﻨﻰ ﹸﻛ ﱢﻠﻬﺎ‬
 ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﺋﻚ‬‫ﺳﻤﺎ‬
 ‫ﹺﺑﺄ‬‫ﻭ‬
O He before Whom all sounds submit, y¡ man khasha`at lahu al-a¥w¡tu ‫ﺕ‬
‫ﺻﻮﺍ ﹸ‬
‫ ﺍﻷ ﹾ‬‫ﺖ ﹶﻟﻪ‬
‫ﻌ ﹾ‬ ‫ﺸ‬
‫ﺧ ﹶ‬
‫ﻦ ﹶ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻳﺎ‬
And all necks yield, wa kha¤a`at lahu alrriq¡bu ‫ﻗﺎﺏ‬‫ ﺍﻟﺮ‬‫ﺖ ﹶﻟﻪ‬
‫ﻌ ﹾ‬ ‫ﻀ‬
‫ﺧ ﹶ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ﻭ‬
And all heads humble themselves, wa dhallat lahu al-a`n¡qu, ،‫ﻋﻨﺎﻕ‬ ‫ ﺍﻷ‬‫ﺖ ﹶﻟﻪ‬
‫ ﹶﺫﱠﻟ ﹾ‬‫ﻭ‬
And all hearts fear, wa wajilat minhu alqul£bu, ،‫ ﺍﻟ ﹸﻘﻠﻮﺏ‬‫ﻣ ﹾﻨﻪ‬ ‫ﺖ‬

 ‫ ﻻ ﹸﺗ‬‫ ﺃﱠﻧﻚ‬‫ﻬﺪ‬ ‫ﺷ‬
‫ﺃﹾ‬
While You comprehend all visions, wa anta tudriku al-ab¥¡ra ‫ﺑﺼﺎﺭ‬‫ ﺍﻷ‬‫ﺪ ﹺﺭﻙ‬
 ‫ﺖ ﹸﺗ‬
‫ﻭﺃﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
And You are the Knower of subtleties,
the All-aware.

And Jesus and Georges wa `¢s¡ wa jirj¢sa, ،‫ﺮﺟﻴﺲ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
‫ ﹺ‬‫ﻋﻴﺴﻰ ﻭ‬‫ﻭ‬
And Mu¦ammad, peace of Allah be wa mu¦ammadin ¥all¡ all¡hu `al-

It is You Who created the heavens and ¡lladhy khalaqta alssam¡w¡ti wal-
the layers of the earth ara¤¢na
‫ﺿﻴﻦ‬‫ﺍﻷﺭ‬‫ﺕ ﻭ‬
 ‫ﺴﻤﺎﻭﺍ‬
 ‫ﺖ ﺍﻟ‬
‫ﺧ ﹶﻠ ﹾﻘ ﹶ‬
‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﹶ‬
And You then established Yourself on §humma astawayta `al¡ al`arshi
the (Divine) Glorious Throne almaj¢di,

 ‫ﻤﺠﻴ‬ ‫ﺵ ﺍﹾﻟ‬
‫ﺮ ﹺ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟ‬ ‫ﺖ‬
‫ﻳ ﹶ‬‫ﺳ ﹶﺘﻮ‬
 ‫ ﺍ‬‫ﹸﺛﻢ‬
By Your Most Excellent Names, You
biasm¡’ika al¦usn¡ tubd’iu wa

 ‫ﺒ‬ ‫ﺴﻨﻰ ﹸﺗ‬

 ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﺋﻚ‬‫ﺳﻤﺎ‬
 ‫ﹺﺑﺄ‬

And You cover the night with the day, wa tughshy allayla alnnah¡ra
which is in haste to follow it, ya§lubuhu ¦a§h¢§han,
،‫ﺣﺜﻴﺜ ﹰﺎ‬
 ‫ﺒﻪ‬ ‫ﻄ ﹸﻠ‬

And the sun and the moon wal-shshamsu wal-qamaru ‫ﻤﺮ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ ﹶﻘ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﻤﺲ‬ ‫ﺸ‬
‫ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬‫ﻭ‬
And the stars and the orbit wal-nnuj£mu wal-falaku ‫ﺍﻟ ﹶﻔ ﹶﻠﻚ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺍﻟ ﱡﻨﺠﻮﻡ‬‫ﻭ‬
And the ages and the creation; wal-dduh£ru wal-khalqu ‫ﺨ ﹾﻠﻖ‬
‫ﺍﻟ ﹶ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﻫﻮﺭ‬‫ﺍﻟﺪ‬‫ﻭ‬
All these are subservient by Your

‫ﺠﻼ ﹺ‬
 ‫ﺫﻭ ﺍﻟ‬
Though the sea became ink for the law k¡na alba¦ru mid¡dan
Words of my Lord, likalim¡ti rabbiy
‫ﻲ‬‫ﺑ‬‫ﺕ ﺭ‬
 ‫ﺎ‬‫ﻠﻤ‬ ‫ﻜ‬
‫ﻟ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺍﺩﹰﺍ‬‫ﻣﺪ‬ ‫ﺤﺮ‬
 ‫ﺒ‬ ‫ ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ﻮ ﻛﹶﺎﻥ‬ ‫ﹶﻟ‬
Verily, the sea would be used up before lanafida alba¦ru qabla an tanfada

 ‫ﺒ‬ ‫ ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ﻔﺪ‬ ‫ﹶﻟﻨﹶ‬

wa law j’in¡ bimi§hlihi madadan. .‫ﺩﹰﺍ‬‫ﻣﺪ‬ ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻤ ﹾﺜ‬ ‫ﺟ ﹾﺌﻨﹶﺎ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ﻮ ﹺ‬ ‫ﹶﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
You know the weights of mountains, ta`lamu ma§h¡q¢la aljib¡li ‫ﻝ‬
‫ﺠﺒﺎ ﹺ‬
‫ﻞ ﺍﻟ ﹺ‬
‫ﻣﺜﺎﻗﻴ ﹶ‬ ‫ﻌ ﹶﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﹶﺗ‬
And the measures of oceans, wa mak¡’¢la albi¦¡ri ‫ﻞ ﺍﻟ ﹺﺒﺤﺎ ﹺﺭ‬
‫ﻣﻜﺎﺋﻴ ﹶ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
And the number of pebbles, wa `adada alrrim¡li, ،‫ﻝ‬
‫ﻣﺎ ﹺ‬‫ ﺍﻟﺮ‬‫ﺩ‬‫ﻋﺪ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
And the numbers of the drops of rain, wa qa§ra al-am§¡ri, ،‫ﻣﻄﺎ ﹺﺭ‬ ‫ ﺍﻷ‬‫ﻄﺮ‬
‫ ﹶﻗ ﹾ‬‫ﻭ‬
And the number of the leaves of trees, wa waraqa al-ashj¡ri, ،‫ﺷﺠﺎ ﹺﺭ‬
‫ ﺍﻷ ﹾ‬‫ﻕ‬‫ﺭ‬‫ﻭ‬‫ﻭ‬
And the number of the stars in the
skies,
wa nuj£ma alssam¡‘i ‫ﺴﻤﺎ ِﺀ‬
 ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﹸﻧﺠﻮﻡ‬‫ﻭ‬
As well as whatever is covered by
wa m¡ a¨lama `alayhi allaylu wa
darkness of night and whatever is
ashraqa `alayhi alnnah¡ru,
،‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻨﻬﺎﺭ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻋ ﹶﻠ‬ ‫ﻕ‬‫ﺷﺮ‬
‫ﺃ ﹾ‬‫ﻞ ﻭ‬
‫ﻴ ﹸ‬ ‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ ﹶﻠ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻋ ﹶﻠ‬ ‫ﻣﺎ ﺃ ﹾﻇ ﹶﻠﻢ‬‫ﻭ‬
under the daylight.
No sky can screen You from another l¡ yuw¡ry minka sam¡‘un
sam¡‘an wa l¡ ar¤un ar¤an,
،‫ﺭﺿ ﹰﺎ‬ ‫ﺽ ﺃ‬
‫ﺭ ﹲ‬ ‫ﻻ ﺃ‬‫ﺳﻤﺎ ًﺀ ﻭ‬
 ‫ﺳﻤﺎ ٌﺀ‬
 ‫ﻣ ﹾﻨﻚ‬ ‫ﻳﻮﺍﺭﻱ‬ ‫ﻻ‬
sky and no layer can screen You from

Neither does any wavy ocean wa l¡ ba¦run muta§¡biqun, ،‫ﻣ ﹶﺘﻄﺎﹺﺑﻖ‬ ‫ﺤﺮ‬
 ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻻ‬‫ﻭ‬
Or anything that lies between the
blockage of mendings
wa l¡ m¡ bayna saddi alrrut£qi, ،‫ﻕ‬
‫ﺗﻮ ﹺ‬‫ ﺍﻟﺮ‬‫ﺳﺪ‬
 ‫ﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻻ ﻣﺎ‬‫ﻭ‬
Or anything of the spread motes that wa l¡ m¡ fy alqar¡ri mina alhab¡‘i
lie in the depths. almab§h£§hi.

 ‫ﺒﺜﻮ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻬﺒﺎ ِﺀ ﺍﹾﻟ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻣﻦ‬ ‫ﻻ ﻣﺎ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟ ﹶﻘﺮﺍ ﹺﺭ‬‫ﻭ‬
I beseech You by Your Name; the as-aluka bismika almakhz£ni
stored, the concealed, almakn£ni
‫ﻥ‬
 ‫ﻜﻨﻮ‬
‫ﻤ ﹾ‬ ‫ﻥ ﺍﹾﻟ‬
 ‫ﺨﺰﻭ‬
‫ﻤ ﹾ‬ ‫ ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ﻤﻚ‬ ‫ﺳ‬
 ‫ ﹺﺑﺎ‬‫ﺄﹸﻟﻚ‬‫ﺃﺳ‬
The luminous light, ¡lnn£ri almun¢ri, ،‫ﻤﻨﻴ ﹺﺮ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ ﹼﻨﻮ ﹺﺭ ﺍﻟ‬
The true right, ¡l¦aqqi almub¢ni, ،‫ﻦ‬
‫ﻤﺒﻴ ﹺ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﺤﻖ‬
 ‫ﺍﹾﻟ‬
Which is light made of light ¡lladhy hw n£run min n£rin ‫ﻦ ﻧﻮ ﹴﺭ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﻫﻮ ﻧﻮﺭ‬
And light on light, wa n£run `al¡ n£rin, ،‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﻧﻮ ﹴﺭ‬ ‫ﻧﻮﺭ‬‫ﻭ‬
And light over all lights, wa n£run fawqa kulli n£rin, ،‫ﻞ ﻧﻮ ﹴﺭ‬
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱢ‬‫ﻮﻕ‬ ‫ ﹶﻓ‬‫ﻧﻮﺭ‬‫ﻭ‬
And light with all lights, wa n£run ma`a kulli n£rin, ،‫ﻞ ﻧﻮ ﹴﺭ‬
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱢ‬‫ﻣﻊ‬ ‫ﻧﻮﺭ‬‫ﻭ‬
And to Your Name does belong the
entire light.
wa lahu kullu n£rin, ،‫ﻞ ﻧﻮ ﹴﺭ‬
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱡ‬‫ﹶﻟﻪ‬‫ﻭ‬
From You, O Lord, is the light, minka y¡ rabbu alnn£ru, ،‫ ﺍﻟ ﹼﻨﻮﺭ‬‫ﺏ‬‫ ﻳﺎ ﺭ‬‫ﻣ ﹾﻨﻚ‬
And to You does the light return, wa ilayka yarji`u alnn£ru. .‫ ﺍﻟ ﹼﻨﻮﺭ‬‫ﺟﻊ‬
‫ﺮ ﹺ‬ ‫ﻳ‬ ‫ﻴﻚ‬ ‫ﺇﹶﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
wa bin£rika alladhy tu¤¢‘u bihi
And by Your light are all darknesses lit,
kullu ¨ulmatin,
،‫ﺔ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻞ ﹸﻇ ﹾﻠ‬
‫ﻪ ﹸﻛ ﱡ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﹸﺗﻀﻲ ُﺀ ﹺﺑ‬‫ﹺﺑﻨﻮ ﹺﺭﻙ‬‫ﻭ‬
And by Your Name is the trick of all wa tab§ulu bihi kaydu kulli
rebellious devils made ineffective, shay§¡nin mar¢din,
،‫ﺪ‬
 ‫ﻣﺮﻳ‬ ‫ﻥ‬
 ‫ﻴﻄﺎ‬ ‫ﺷ‬
‫ﻞ ﹶ‬
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱢ‬‫ﻴﺪ‬ ‫ﻪ ﹶﻛ‬ ‫ﻞ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ﻄ ﹸ‬
‫ﺒ ﹸ‬ ‫ﹶﺗ‬‫ﻭ‬
And by Your Name are all the obstinate wa tadhullu bihi kullu jabb¡rin
tyrants humiliated, `an¢din,
،‫ﺪ‬
 ‫ﻋﻨﻴ‬ ‫ﺒﺎ ﹴﺭ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﻪ ﹸﻛ ﱡ‬ ‫ﻝ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ﺬﱡ‬
‫ﹶﺗ ﹸ‬‫ﻭ‬
And nothing can stand with it against wa l¡ yaq£mu lahu shay‘un min
Your will, khalqika
‫ﻘﻚ‬ ‫ﺧ ﹾﻠ‬
‫ﻦ ﹶ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻲ ٌﺀ‬
 ‫ﺷ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ ﹶﻟﻪ‬‫ﻳﻘﻮﻡ‬ ‫ﻻ‬‫ﻭ‬
And because of its grandeur, the lands wa yata¥adda`u li`a¨amatihi
and the oceans are split, albarru wal-ba¦ru,
،‫ﺤﺮ‬
 ‫ﺒ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺒﺮ‬ ‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻈ‬
‫ﻌ ﹶ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﻉ‬‫ﺼﺪ‬
‫ﻳ ﹶﺘ ﹶ‬‫ﻭ‬
And angels keep silent when there is wa tastaqillu almal¡’ikatu ¦¢na
speech about it, yatakallamu bihi,
،‫ﻪ‬ ‫ ﹺﺑ‬‫ﻜ ﱠﻠﻢ‬
‫ﻳ ﹶﺘ ﹶ‬ ‫ﻜ ﹸﺔ ﺣﻴﻦ‬
‫ﺋ ﹶ‬‫ﻤﻼ‬ ‫ﻞ ﺍﹾﻟ‬
‫ﻘ ﱡ‬ ‫ﺴ ﹶﺘ‬
 ‫ﹶﺗ‬‫ﻭ‬
And due to fear of it, the angels
wa tar`adu min khashyatihi
bearing the Great Throne tremble in
¦amalatu al`arshi al`a¨¢mi
‫ﻢ‬
‫ﻌﻈﻴ ﹺ‬ ‫ﺵ ﺍﻟ‬
‫ﺮ ﹺ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫ﻤ ﹶﻠ ﹸﺔ ﺍﻟ‬ ‫ﺣ‬
 ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﺸ‬
‫ﺧ ﹾ‬
‫ﻦ ﹶ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻋﺪ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﹶﺗ‬‫ﻭ‬
awe,
so do all those of lower states, down to
those in the lowest layers of the earth.
il¡ tukh£mi al-ara¤¢na alssab`i, ،‫ﻊ‬
‫ﺒ ﹺ‬ ‫ﺴ‬
 ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﺿﻴﻦ‬‫ﺇﻟﻰ ﹸﺗﺨﻮ ﹺﻡ ﺍﻷﺭ‬
Through it, oceans burst, ¡lladhy anfalaqat bihi albi¦¡ru, ،‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ ﹺﺒﺤﺎﺭ‬ ‫ﺖ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ ﺍﹾﻧ ﹶﻔ ﹶﻠ ﹶﻘ ﹾ‬
And rivers flow, wa jarat bihi al-anh¡ru, ،‫ﻪ ﺍﻷﹾﻧﻬﺎﺭ‬ ‫ﺕ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ ﹾ‬‫ﺟﺮ‬
 ‫ﻭ‬
And springs split, wa tafajjarat bihi al`uy£nu, ،‫ﻌﻴﻮﻥ‬ ‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ‬ ‫ﺕ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ ﹾ‬‫ﺠﺮ‬
 ‫ﹶﺗ ﹶﻔ‬‫ﻭ‬
And stars move, wa s¡rat bihi alnnujuwmu, ،‫ﺠﻮﻡ‬
 ‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱡﻨ‬ ‫ﺕ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ ﹾ‬‫ﺳﺎﺭ‬‫ﻭ‬

And clouds are accumulated and wa urkima bihi alssa¦¡bu wa
moved ‘ujriya,
،‫ﺟ ﹺﺮﻱ‬
 ‫ﹸﺃ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺴﺤﺎﺏ‬
 ‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ‬ ‫ ﹺﺑ‬‫ﻛﻢ‬ ‫ﺭ‬ ‫ﹸﺃ‬‫ﻭ‬
And fog straighten up, wa i`tadala bihi al¤¤ab¡bu, ،‫ﻀﺒﺎﺏ‬
‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬ ‫ﻝ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ﻋ ﹶﺘﺪ‬ ‫ﺍ‬‫ﻭ‬
And sands heap, wa h¡lat bihi alrrim¡lu, ،‫ﻝ‬
‫ﻣﺎ ﹸ‬‫ﻪ ﺍﻟﺮ‬ ‫ﺖ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ﻫﺎﹶﻟ ﹾ‬‫ﻭ‬
And mountains settle down, wa rasat bihi aljib¡lu ‫ﻝ‬
‫ﺠﺒﺎ ﹸ‬
‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ ﹺ‬ ‫ﺖ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ﺳ ﹾ‬
 ‫ﺭ‬‫ﻭ‬
And the layers of the earth become
stable,
wa ¡staqarrat bihi al-ara¤£na, ،‫ﺿﻮﻥ‬‫ﻪ ﺍﻷﺭ‬ ‫ﺕ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ ﹾ‬‫ﺳ ﹶﺘ ﹶﻘﺮ‬
 ‫ﺍ‬‫ﻭ‬
And drops of rain descend, wa nazala bihi alqa§ru ‫ﻄﺮ‬
‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ ﹶﻘ ﹾ‬ ‫ﻝ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ﹶﻧ ﹶﺰ ﹶ‬‫ﻭ‬
And seeds grow up, wa kharaja bihi al¦abbu, ،‫ﺤﺐ‬
 ‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ‬ ‫ ﹺﺑ‬‫ﺝ‬‫ﺧﺮ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ﻭ‬
And creation have become of various wa tafarraqat bihi jabal¡tu
kinds, alkhalqi,
،‫ﻖ‬
‫ﺨ ﹾﻠ ﹺ‬
‫ﺕ ﺍﻟ ﹶ‬
‫ﺒﻼ ﹸ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺖ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ ﹶﻗ ﹾ‬‫ﹶﺗ ﹶﻔﺮ‬‫ﻭ‬
And winds blow wa khafaqat bihi alrriy¡¦u, ،‫ﻳﺎﺡ‬‫ﻪ ﺍﻟﺮ‬ ‫ﺖ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ﺧ ﹶﻔ ﹶﻘ ﹾ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ﻭ‬
wa ¡ntasharat wa tanaffasat bihi
And souls spread and breathe.
al-arw¡¦u.
.‫ﺭﻭﺍﺡ‬ ‫ﻪ ﺍﻷ‬ ‫ﺖ ﹺﺑ‬
‫ﺴ ﹾ‬
 ‫ﹶﺗ ﹶﻨ ﱠﻔ‬‫ﺕ ﻭ‬
‫ ﹾ‬‫ﺸﺮ‬
‫ﺍﹾﻧ ﹶﺘ ﹶ‬‫ﻭ‬
O Allah: It is You to Whom Godhead is y¡ all¡hu anta almutasamm¡ bi-
ascribed; il¡hiyyati,
،‫ﺔ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻤﻰ ﹺﺑﺎﻹﻟ ﹺﻬ‬ ‫ﺴ‬
 ‫ﻤ ﹶﺘ‬ ‫ﺖ ﺍﻟ‬
‫ﷲ ﺃﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ ﹶﺍ‬
(I beseech You) by Your Name: the big,
the All-big,
bismika alkab¢ri al-akbari ‫ﺒ ﹺﺮ‬ ‫ﻜﺒﻴ ﹺﺮ ﺍﻷ ﹾﻛ‬
‫ ﺍﻟ ﹶ‬‫ﻤﻚ‬ ‫ﺳ‬
 ‫ِﹺﺑﺎ‬
The great, the All-great, ¡l`a¨¢mi al-a`¨ami ‫ﻢ‬
‫ﻈﹺ‬
‫ﻋ ﹶ‬ ‫ﻢ ﺍﻷ‬
‫ﻌﻈﻴ ﹺ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ‬
Before which all faces humble
themselves.
¡lladhy `anat lahu al£uj£hu, ،‫ﺟﻮﻩ‬‫ ﺍﻟﻮ‬‫ﺖ ﹶﻟﻪ‬
‫ﻋ ﹶﻨ ﹾ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺬﻱ‬
O the Lord of bounty and graces: y¡ dh¡ al§§awli wal-¡l¡‘i, ،‫ﺍﻵﻻ ِﺀ‬‫ﻝ ﻭ‬
‫ﻮ ﹺ‬ ‫ﻄ‬
‫ﻳﺎ ﺫﺍ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
There is no god save You, O the Nigh; l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta y¡ qar¢bu, ،‫ﺖ ﻳﺎ ﹶﻗﺮﻳﺐ‬
‫ﻻ ﺃﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
‫ ﺇ ﹼ‬‫ﻻ ﺇﹶﻟﻪ‬
It is You Who prevails on all things; anta algh¡libu `al¡ kulli shay‘in, ،‫ﻲ ٍﺀ‬
 ‫ﺷ‬
‫ﻞ ﹶ‬
‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﹸﻛ ﱢ‬ ‫ﻟﺐ‬‫ﺖ ﺍﻟﻐﺎ‬
‫ﺃﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
I beseech You, O Allah, by all of Your as-aluka all¡humma bijam¢`i
Names, asm¡’ika kullih¡
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱢﻠﻬﺎ‬‫ﺋﻚ‬‫ﺳﻤﺎ‬
 ‫ﻊﺃ‬
‫ﺠﻤﻴ ﹺ‬
 ‫ ﹺﺑ‬‫ﻬﻢ‬ ‫ ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠ‬‫ﺄﹸﻟﻚ‬‫ﺃﺳ‬
Those which I know and those which I m¡ `alimtu minh¡ wa m¡ lam
do not; a`lam,
،‫ﻢ‬
 ‫ﻋ ﹶﻠ‬ ‫ﻢ ﺃ‬
 ‫ﻣﺎ ﹶﻟ‬‫ﻣﻨﻬﺎ ﻭ‬ ‫ﺖ‬
‫ﻤ ﹸ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻣﺎ‬
And by every Name that belongs to
You;
wa bikulli ismin huwa laka ‫ ﹶﻟﻚ‬‫ﻫﻮ‬ ‫ﻢ‬
‫ﺳﹴ‬ ‫ﻞﺍ‬
‫ﻜ ﱢ‬
‫ﹺﺑ ﹸ‬‫ﻭ‬
(I beseech You) to send blessings upon
an tu¥alliya `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa
Mu¦ammad and the Household of
¡li mu¦ammadin
‫ﺪ‬
 ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻝ‬
‫ﺁ ﹺ‬‫ﺪ ﻭ‬
 ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻰ‬ ‫ﺼ ﱢﻠﻲ‬
‫ﻥ ﹸﺗ ﹶ‬
‫ﺃ‬
Mu¦ammad,
And to rescue me from the plots of my
enemies
wa an takfiyany amra a`d¡’¢ ‫ﻋﺪﺍﺋﻲ‬ ‫ ﺃ‬‫ﻣﺮ‬ ‫ﻴﻨﻲ ﺃ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫ﻜ‬
‫ﻥ ﹶﺗ ﹾ‬
 ‫ﺃ‬‫ﻭ‬
And to make me attain my hope; wa tuballighany mun¡ya ‫ﻣﻨﺎﻱ‬ ‫ﺒ ﱢﻠ ﹶﻐﻨﻲ‬ ‫ﹸﺗ‬‫ﻭ‬
O the most Merciful of all those who
show mercy.
y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na. .‫ﺣﻤﻴﻦ‬
 ‫ﺍ‬‫ ﺍﻟﺮ‬‫ﺣﻢ‬
 ‫ﺭ‬ ‫ﻳﺎ ﺃ‬
O Allah: (please) send blessings upon
all¡humma ¥alli `al¡

 ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻝ‬
‫ﺁ ﹶ‬‫ﻤﺪﹰﺍ ﻭ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻢ‬
‫ﺣ‬ ‫ﺭ‬ ‫ﻭﺍ‬
And bless Mu¦ammad and the wa b¡rik `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li
Household of Mu¦ammad mu¦ammadin,
،‫ﻤﺪ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻝ‬
‫ﺁ ﹺ‬‫ﺪ ﻭ‬

As You sent blessings, mercy,
benedictions, and clemency upon
kam¡ ¥allayta wa ra¦imta wa ‫ﺖ‬
‫ـ ﹶ‬‫ﺣﻤ‬
 ‫ﹶﺗﺮ‬‫ﺖ ﻭ‬
‫ﻛﹾـ ﹶ‬‫ﺑﺎﺭ‬‫ﺖ ﻭ‬
‫ﻤ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺣ‬
 ‫ﺭ‬‫ﺖ ﻭ‬
‫ﻴ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺻ ﱠﻠ‬
‫ﹶﻛﻤﺎ ﹶ‬
b¡rakta wa tara¦¦amta `al¡
(Prophet) Abraham and the household
ibr¡h¢ma wa ¡li ibr¡h¢ma ‫ﺑﺮﺍﻫﻴﻢ‬‫ﻝ ﺇ‬
‫ﺁ ﹺ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺑﺮﺍﻫﻴﻢ‬‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﺇ‬
of Abraham.
Verily, You are verily worthy of all
praise, full of all glory.
innaka ¦im¢dun maj¢dun, ،‫ﻣﺠﻴﺪ‬ ‫ﺣﻤﻴﺪ‬
 ‫ﺇﱠﻧﻚ‬
O Allah: (please) grant Mu¦ammad the
all¡humma a`§i mu¦ammadan
right of intercession and an honorable
al£as¢lata wal-shsharafa
‫ﻑ‬‫ﺸﺮ‬
‫ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬‫ﺳﻴ ﹶﻠ ﹶﺔ ﻭ‬‫ﻤﺪﹰﺍ ﺍﻟﻮ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻂ‬
 ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ ﺃ‬‫ﻬﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠ‬
station
And an exalted position and preference wal-rrif`ata wal-fa¤¢lata `al¡
over all Your creatutes, khalqika
‫ﻘﻚ‬ ‫ﺧ ﹾﻠ‬
‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ ﹶﻔﻀﻴ ﹶﻠ ﹶﺔ‬‫ﻌ ﹶﺔ ﻭ‬ ‫ ﹾﻓ‬‫ﺍﻟﺮ‬‫ﻭ‬
And decide him to be the target of the wa ij`al fy almu¥§afayna
Chosen Ones’ greetings, ta¦iyy¡tihi,
،‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺗ‬‫ﻴﺎ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ ﹶﺗ‬‫ﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﻄ ﹶﻔ‬
‫ﺼﹶ‬‫ﻤ ﹾ‬ ‫ﻞ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟ‬
‫ﻌ ﹾ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ﺍ‬‫ﻭ‬
And elevate his rank to the most
exalted place,
wa fy al`illiyy¢na darajatahu, ،‫ﺟ ﹶﺘﻪ‬
 ‫ﺭ‬‫ ﺩ‬‫ﻴﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﻌ ﱢﻠ‬ ‫ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
And put his position within the
position of the Favorite Ones.
wa fy almuqarrab¢na manzilatahu, ،‫ﻣ ﹾﻨ ﹺﺰﹶﻟ ﹶﺘﻪ‬ ‫ﺑﻴﻦ‬‫ﻤ ﹶﻘﺮ‬ ‫ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
O Allah: (please) send blessings upon all¡humma ¥alla `al¡ jam¢`i
all of Your angels mal¡’ikatika
‫ﺘﻚ‬ ‫ﻜ‬
‫ﺋ ﹶ‬‫ﻣﻼ‬ ‫ﻊ‬
‫ﺟﻤﻴ ﹺ‬
 ‫ﻋﻠﻰ‬ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﺻ ﱠ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ﻬﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠ‬
And Prophets and Messengers wa anbiy¡’ika wa rusulika ‫ﻠﻚ‬ ‫ﺳ‬
 ‫ﺭ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﺋﻚ‬‫ﺃﹾﻧ ﹺﺒﻴﺎ‬‫ﻭ‬
And people of obedience to You. wa ahli §¡`atika. .‫ﺘﻚ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻞ ﹶﻃﺎ‬
‫ﻫ ﹺ‬ ‫ﺃ‬‫ﻭ‬
O Allah: (please) forgive the believing all¡humma aghfir lilmu´min¢na
men and women wal-mu´min¡ti
‫ﺕ‬
 ‫ﻣﻨﺎ‬ ‫ﻤﺆ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﻣﻨﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﻤﺆ‬ ‫ﻟ ﹾﻠ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻔ‬ ‫ ﺍ ﹾﻏ‬‫ﻬﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠ‬
And the Muslim men and women, wal-muslim¢na wal-muslim¡ti ‫ﺕ‬
 ‫ﻠﻤﺎ‬ ‫ﺴ‬
 ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ‬‫ ﻭ‬‫ﻠﻤﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﺴ‬
 ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
The alive and the dead, ¡la¦¢¡‘i minhum wal-amw¡ti, ،‫ﺕ‬
 ‫ﻣﻮﺍ‬ ‫ﺍﻷ‬‫ﻢ ﻭ‬
 ‫ﻬ‬ ‫ﻣ ﹾﻨ‬ ‫ﺣﻴﺎ ِﺀ‬
 ‫ﺍﻷ‬
And (please) put affection between our wa allif bayna qul£bin¡ wa
and their hearts on good things. qul£bihim `al¡ alkhayr¡ti,
،‫ﺕ‬
 ‫ﻴﺮﺍ‬ ‫ﺨ‬
‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟ ﹶ‬ ‫ﻢ‬
 ‫ ﹸﻗﻠﻮﹺﺑ ﹺﻬ‬‫ ﹸﻗﻠﻮﹺﺑﻨﺎ ﻭ‬‫ﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻒ‬
 ‫ﺃﱢﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
O Allah: (please) award Mu¦ammad—
all¡humma ijzi mu¦ammadan
peace of Allah be upon him and his
¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi wa ¡lihi
‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﻟ‬‫ﺁ‬‫ﻪ ﻭ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻋ ﹶﻠ‬ ‫ﷲ‬
ُ ‫ﺻ ﹼﻠﻰ ﺍ‬
‫ﻤﺪﹰﺍ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺟ ﹺﺰ‬
 ‫ ﺇ‬‫ﻬﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠ‬
Household—
With the best award that You have ever
af¤ala m¡ jazayta nabiyyan `an
given to a Prophet on behalf of his
aummatihi,
،‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻦ ﹸﺃ‬
 ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻴ ﹰﺎ‬ ‫ﺖ ﹶﻧ ﹺﺒ‬
‫ﻳ ﹶ‬‫ﺟ ﹶﺰ‬
 ‫ﻞ ﻣﺎ‬
‫ﻀ ﹶ‬
‫ﺃ ﹾﻓ ﹶ‬
people,
An award that befits his having recited
Your verses,
kam¡ tal¡ ¡¢¡tika ‫ﺗﻚ‬‫ﹶﻛﻤﺎ ﹶﺗﻼ ﺁﻳﺎ‬
And conveyed that with which You sent
him,
wa ballagha m¡ arsaltahu bihi, ،‫ﻪ‬ ‫ ﹺﺑ‬‫ﺳ ﹾﻠ ﹶﺘﻪ‬
 ‫ﺭ‬ ‫ﻎ ﻣﺎ ﺃ‬
‫ﺑ ﱠﻠ ﹶ‬‫ﻭ‬
And wished well for his nation, wa na¥a¦a liaummatihi ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺘ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﻷ‬
ُ ‫ﺼﺢ‬
‫ﹶﻧ ﹶ‬‫ﻭ‬

upon him.
wa `abadaka ¦att¡ at¡hu alyaq¢nu ‫ﻴﻘﻴﻦ‬ ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﺣ ﹼﺘﻰ ﺃﺗﺎﻩ‬
 ‫ﻙ‬‫ﺒﺪ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
Allah’s blessings be upon him and ¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi wa `al¡ ¡lihi
upon his Immaculate Household. al§§ayyib¢na.

‫ﻪ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬ ‫ﻟ‬‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﺁ‬ ‫ﻪ ﻭ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻋ ﹶﻠ‬ ‫ﷲ‬
ُ ‫ﺻ ﹼﻠﻰ ﺍ‬

“Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the
Worlds!”
tab¡raka alllahu rabbu al`¡lam¢na (‫ﻴﻦ‬‫ﺎﹶﻟﻤ‬‫ ﺍﹾﻟﻌ‬‫ﺏ‬‫ ﺭ‬‫ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻠﻪ‬‫ﻙ‬‫ﺎﺭ‬‫)ﹶﺗﺒ‬
“Blessed be Allah, the Best of tab¡raka alllahu a¦sanu
creators!” alkh¡liq¢na
(‫ﻴﻦ‬‫ﻟﻘ‬‫ ﺍﹾﻟﺨﹶﺎ‬‫ﺴﻦ‬
 ‫ﺣ‬
 ‫ ﹶﺃ‬‫ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻠﻪ‬‫ﻙ‬‫ﺎﺭ‬‫)ﹶﺗﺒ‬
“Blessed is He Who hath revealed unto
His slave the Criterion (of right and
tab¡raka alladhiy nazzala ‫ﻩ‬ ‫ﺪ‬
 ‫ـ‬‫ﻋﺒ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﹶـﻰ‬ ‫ﺮﻗﹶـﺎﻥ‬ ‫ﻝ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹸﻔ‬
‫ﻱ ﹶﻧ ﱠﺰ ﹶ‬‫ ﺍﱠﻟﺬ‬‫ﻙ‬‫ﺎﺭ‬‫)ﹶﺗﺒ‬
alfurq¡na `al¡ `abdihi liyakuwna
wrong), that he may be a warner to the
lil`¡lam¢na nadh¢ran .‫ﻳﺮﹰﺍ‬‫ ﹶﻧﺬ‬‫ﻴﻦ‬‫ﺎﹶﻟﻤ‬‫ﻟ ﹾﻠﻌ‬ ‫ﻴﻜﹸﻮﻥ‬ ‫ﻟ‬
peoples.
He unto Whom belongs the
¡lladhiy lahu mulku alssam¡w¡ti
Sovereignty of the heavens and the
wal-ar¤i
‫ﺽ‬
‫ﺭ ﹺ‬ ‫ﻷ‬
َ ‫ﺍ‬‫ﺕ ﻭ‬
 ‫ﺍ‬‫ﺎﻭ‬‫ﺴﻤ‬
 ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻣ ﹾﻠﻚ‬ ‫ﻱ ﹶﻟﻪ‬‫ﺍﱠﻟﺬ‬
earth,
He has chosen no son wa lam yattakhidh waladan ‫ﻟﹶﺪﹰﺍ‬‫ﺬ ﻭ‬
‫ﺨﹾ‬
 ‫ﻳ ﱠﺘ‬ ‫ﻢ‬
 ‫ﹶﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
Nor has He any partner in the wa lam yakun lahu shar¢kun fiy
Sovereignty. almulki
‫ﻚ‬
 ‫ﻤ ﹾﻠ‬ ‫ﻲ ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ ﻓ‬‫ﺷﺮﹺﻳﻚ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ﻦ ﹶﻟﻪ‬
 ‫ﻜ‬
‫ﻳ ﹸ‬ ‫ﻢ‬
 ‫ﹶﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
He has created everything and has wa khalaqa kulla shay‘in
meted out for it a measure.” faqaddarahu taqd¢ran
(‫ﻳﺮﹰﺍ‬‫ ﹶﺗ ﹾﻘﺪ‬‫ﻩ‬‫ﺭ‬‫ﻲ ٍﺀ ﹶﻓ ﹶﻘﺪ‬
 ‫ﺷ‬
‫ﻞ ﹶ‬
‫ ﹸﻛ ﱠ‬‫ﺧ ﹶﻠﻖ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ﻭ‬

“Blessed is He Who, if He will, will tab¡raka alladhiy ‘in sh¡‘a ja`ala ‫ﻦ‬
 ‫ـ‬‫ﺮﹰﺍ ﻣ‬‫ﺧﻴ‬
‫ ﹶ‬‫ﻞ ﹶﻟﻚ‬
‫ﻌ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ﻥ ﺷﹶﺎ َﺀ‬
 ‫ﻱ ﹺﺇ‬‫ ﺍﱠﻟﺬ‬‫ﻙ‬‫ﺎﺭ‬‫)ﹶﺗﺒ‬
assign You better than all that; laka khayran min dhalika
‫ﻟﻚ‬‫ﹶﺫ‬
Gardens underneath which rivers jann¡tin tajriy min ta¦tih¡
flow, alanh¡ru
‫ﺎﺭ‬‫ﻷﹾﻧﻬ‬
َ ‫ﺎ ﺍ‬‫ﺘﻬ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
 ‫ﻦ ﹶﺗ‬
 ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺠﺮﹺﻱ‬
 ‫ﺕ ﹶﺗ‬
 ‫ﺟﻨﱠﺎ‬

and will assign You mansions.” wa yaj`al laka qu¥£ran (‫ ﹸﻗﺼﹸﻮﺭﹰﺍ‬‫ﻞ ﹶﻟﻚ‬
‫ﻌ ﹾ‬ ‫ﺠ‬
 ‫ﻳ‬‫ﻭ‬
“And blessed be He unto Whom
belongs the Sovereignty of the heavens
wa tab¡raka alladhiy lahu mulku ‫ﺽ‬
‫ﺭ ﹺ‬ ‫ﻷ‬
َ ‫ﺍ‬‫ﺕ ﻭ‬
 ‫ﺍ‬‫ﺎﻭ‬‫ﺴﻤ‬
 ‫ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻣ ﹾﻠﻚ‬ ‫ﻱ ﹶﻟﻪ‬‫ ﺍﱠﻟﺬ‬‫ﻙ‬‫ﺎﺭ‬‫ﹶﺗﺒ‬‫)ﻭ‬
alssam¡w¡ti wal-ar¤i wa m¡
and the earth and all that is between
baynahum¡ ‫ﺎ‬‫ﻬﻤ‬ ‫ﻴ ﹶﻨ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﺎ‬‫ﻣ‬‫ﻭ‬
them,
and with Whom is knowledge of the
Hour,
wa `indahu `ilmu alss¡`ati ‫ﺔ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﺎ‬‫ ﺍﻟﺴ‬‫ﻋ ﹾﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﻩ‬‫ﻋ ﹾﻨﺪ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
and to Whom you will be returned.” wa ‘ilayhi turja`uwna (.‫ﻮﻥ‬‫ﺟﻌ‬
 ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻪ ﹸﺗ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﹺﺇﹶﻟ‬‫ﻭ‬
“Blessed be the name of your Lord, tab¡raka asmu rabbika dhiy
Mighty and glorious.” aljal¡li wal-’ikr¡mi
(.‫ﺍ ﹺﻡ‬‫ﻹ ﹾﻛﺮ‬
ِ ‫ﺍ‬‫ﻝ ﻭ‬
‫ﻼ ﹺ‬‫ﻱ ﺍﹾﻟﺠ‬‫ ﺫ‬‫ﺑﻚ‬‫ ﺭ‬‫ﺳﻢ‬
 ‫ ﺍ‬‫ﻙ‬‫ﺎﺭ‬‫)ﹶﺗﺒ‬
“Blessed is He in Whose hand is the tab¡raka alladhiy biyadihi almulku ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﻋﻠﹶﻰ ﻛﹸـ ﱢ‬ ‫ﻫﻮ‬ ‫ ﻭ‬‫ﻤ ﹾﻠﻚ‬ ‫ﻩ ﺍﹾﻟ‬ ‫ﺪ‬
 ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻱ ﹺﺑ‬‫ ﺍﱠﻟﺬ‬‫ﻙ‬‫ﺎﺭ‬‫)ﹶﺗﺒ‬
Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all wa huwa `ala¢ kulli shay‘in
things; qad¢run ‫ﻳﺮ‬‫ﻲ ٍﺀ ﹶﻗﺪ‬
 ‫ﺷ‬
‫ﹶ‬
Who has created life and death that He ¡lladhiy khalaqa almawta wal- ‫ﻢ‬
‫ﻜ‬
‫ﻳ ﹸ‬‫ﻢ ﹶﺃ‬
 ‫ ﹸﻛ‬‫ﺒ ﹸﻠﻮ‬ ‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﺎ ﹶﺓ‬‫ﺤﻴ‬
 ‫ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ﺕ ﻭ‬
‫ﻮ ﹶ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ﺧﻠﹶﻖ‬
‫ﻱ ﹶ‬‫ﺍﱠﻟﺬ‬
may try you which of you is best in ¦ay¡ ta liyabluwakum ayyukum
conduct; a¦sanu `amalan ‫ﻼ‬
‫ﻤ ﹰ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﺴﻦ‬
 ‫ﺣ‬
 ‫ﹶﺃ‬
and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving.” wa huwa al`az¢zu alghafuwru (.‫ﻌﺰﹺﻳ ﹸﺰ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﻐﻔﹸﻮﺭ‬ ‫ ﺍﹾﻟ‬‫ﻫﻮ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
“Blessed be He Who has placed in the tab¡raka alladhiy ja`ala fiy
heaven mansions of the stars, alssam¡‘i bur£jan
‫ﻭﺟ ﹰﺎ‬‫ﺑﺮ‬ ‫ﺎ ِﺀ‬‫ﺴﻤ‬
 ‫ﻲ ﺍﻟ‬‫ﻞ ﻓ‬
‫ﻌ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ﻱ‬‫ ﺍﱠﻟﺬ‬‫ﻙ‬‫ﺎﺭ‬‫)ﹶﺗﺒ‬

and has placed therein a great lamp wa ja`ala f¢h¡ sir¡jan wa
and a moon giving light.” qamaran mun¢ran
(.‫ﻣﻨﹺﻴﺮﹰﺍ‬ ‫ﺮﹰﺍ‬‫ ﹶﻗﻤ‬‫ﺍﺟ ﹰﺎ ﻭ‬‫ﺳﺮ‬
 ‫ﺎ‬‫ﻴﻬ‬‫ﻞ ﻓ‬
‫ﻌ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺟ‬
 ‫ﻭ‬
You may then add the following:
I seek the protection of all of the
a`£dhu bikalim¡ti allhi altt¡mm¡ti ِ ‫اﷲ اﻟﺘّﺎﻣ‬
‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﺘـﻲ ﻻ ﻳُﺠـﺎ ِوُزُﻫ‬‫ﻬـﺎ اﻟ‬‫ﺎت ُﻛﻠ‬ ِ ِ‫أﻋﻮذُ ﺑِ َﻜﻠ‬
ِ ‫ﻤﺎت‬
Perfect Words of Allah that neither an
kullih¡ allaty l¡ yuj¡wizuhunna
ّ
upright one nor can a licentious one ِ ‫ﺮ وﻻ‬ِ‫ﺑ‬
،‫ﻓﺎﺟ ٌﺮ‬
exceed them,
birrun wa l¡ f¡jirun, َ
Against the evil of Ibl¢s and his troops, min sharri ibl¢sa wa jun£dihi, ِ ‫ﺮ إﺑﻠﻴﺲ وﺟ‬ ‫ِﻣﻦ َﺷ‬
،‫ﻨﻮد ِﻩ‬ َُ َ ْ ْ
And against the evil of all devils and wa min sharri kulli shay§¡nin wa ٍ ‫ﻄﺎن وﺳ ْﻠ‬
،‫ﻄﺎن‬ ٍ ِ
rulers sul§¡nin, ُ َ ‫ﻞ َﺷ ْﻴ‬ ‫ﺮ ُﻛ‬ ‫َوﻣ ْﻦ َﺷ‬
And sorcerers and magicians wa s¡¦irin wa k¡hinin, ،‫ﻛﺎﻫ ٍﻦ‬ ِ ‫و‬
ِ ‫ﺳﺎﺣ ٍﺮ و‬
َ َ
And against the evil of all evil ones. wa sharri kulli dhy sharrin. .‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻞ ذي َﺷ‬ ‫ﺮ ُﻛ‬ ‫َو َﺷ‬
َ ‫أﺳﺘَـ ْﻮ ِد ُﻋ‬
O Allah: I keep as trust with You my all¡humma inny astawdi`uka
self and my religion nafsy wa d¢n¢
‫ﻚ ﻧَـ ْﻔﺴﻲ َودﻳﻨﻲ‬ ْ ‫ﻢ إﻧّﻲ‬ ‫اَﻟﻠ ُّﻬ‬
And my hearing and my sight wa sam`y wa ba¥ar¢ ‫ﺼﺮي‬
َ َ‫َو َﺳ ْﻤﻌﻲ َوﺑ‬
And my body and all my organs wa jasady jam¢`a jaw¡ri¦¢ ‫ﻤﻴﻊ َﺟﻮا ِرﺣﻲ‬
َ ‫َو َﺟ َﺴﺪي َو َﺟ‬
And my family members and my
property and my children
wa hly wa m¡ly wa awl¡d¢ ‫َو ْأﻫﻠﻲ َوﻣﺎﻟﻲ َوأوﻻدي‬
And all those for whose affairs I am
responsible
wa jam¢`a man yu`n¢ny amruhu, ،ُ‫ﻤﻴﻊ َﻣ ْﻦ ﻳـُ ْﻌﻨﻴﻨﻲ ْأﻣ ُﺮﻩ‬
َ ‫َو َﺟ‬
And the seal of my deeds wa khaw¡t¢ma `amal¢ ‫ﻮاﺗﻴﻢ َﻋ َﻤﻠﻲ‬
َ ‫َو َﺧ‬
And all that which You have given me
‫ﻮﻟْﺘَﻨﻲ َوَرَزﻗْـﺘَﻨﻲ‬ ‫ ْﻜﺘَﻨﻲ َو َﺧ‬‫َوﺳﺎﺋَِﺮ ﻣﺎ َﻣﻠ‬
wa s¡’ira m¡ mallaktany wa
in possession and authorized me to
khawwaltany wa razaqtan¢
dispose and provided me
And conferred upon me wa an`amta bihi `alayya ‫ﻲ‬ َ‫ﺖ ﺑِ ِﻪ َﻋﻠ‬ َ ‫َوأﻧْـ َﻌ ْﻤ‬
wa jam¢`a almu´min¢na wal- ِ ‫ﺆﻣ‬
،‫ﻨﺎت‬ ِ ‫ﺆﻣﻨﻴﻦ واﻟﻤ‬ ِ ‫وﺟﻤﻴﻊ‬
And all the believing men and women.
mu´min¡ti, ُ َ َ ‫اﻟﻤ‬ ُ َ ََ
O the best of trustees; y¡ khayra mustawda`in ‫ﻳﺎ َﺧ ْﻴـ َﺮ ُﻣ ْﺴﺘَـ ْﻮ َد ٍع‬
O the best of keepers; wa y¡ khayra ¦¡fi¨in ‫َوﻳﺎ َﺧ ْﻴـ َﺮ ﺣﺎﻓِ ٍﻆ‬
O the most Merciful of all those
.‫ﻤﻴﻦ‬ ِ ‫وﻳﺎ أرﺣﻢ‬
showing mercy.
wa y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na.
َ ‫اﻟﺮاﺣ‬ ّ َ َْ َ
all¡humma inny as-aluka
O Allah: I beseech You by Your Name:
bi¡smika: َ ‫ﺎﺳ ِﻤ‬
:‫ﻚ‬ ْ ِ‫ُﻚ ﺑ‬
َ ‫أﺳﺄﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ إﻧّﻲ‬ ‫اَﻟﻠ ُّﻬ‬
Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, ¡llhi allhi allhi allhi allhi, ِ ‫اﷲ‬
،‫اﷲ‬ ِ ‫اﷲ‬
ِ ‫اﷲ‬
ِ ‫اﷲ‬
ِ
There is no god save You, the Lord of ¡lladhy l¡ il¡ha ill¡ huwa rabbu
the Great Throne; al`arshi al`a¨¢mi,
ِ ‫اﻟﻌ‬
،‫ﻈﻴﻢ‬ ِ ‫اﻟﻌ ْﺮ‬
َ ‫ش‬ َ ‫ب‬  ‫ﺬي ﻻ إﻟَ َﻪ إﻻّ ُﻫ َﻮ َر‬‫اﻟ‬
(I beseech You) to send blessings upon
‫ﻤ ٍﺪ‬ ‫آل ُﻣ َﺤ‬
ِ ‫ﻤ ٍﺪ و‬ ‫ﻲ َﻋﻠﻰ ُﻣ َﺤ‬‫ﺼﻠ‬
an tu¥alliya `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa
Mu¦ammad and the Household of
Mu¦ammad,
¡li mu¦ammadin َ َ َ ُ‫أ ْن ﺗ‬
And to relieve me; wa an tufarrija `ann¢ ‫ﺮ َج َﻋﻨّﻲ‬ ‫َوأ ْن ﺗُـ َﻔ‬
،‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﺿﻴﻦ َوَﻣ ْﻦ ﻓﻴ ِﻬ‬ ِ  ‫ب اﻟ‬
O the Lord of the heavens and the y¡ rabba alssam¡w¡ti wal-ara¤¢na َ ‫اﻷر‬
َ ‫ﺴﻤﺎوات َو‬  ‫ﻳﺎ َر‬

earth and whoever is therein; wa man f¢hinna,

O He Who causes oceans to flow wa mujriya albi¦¡ri ‫ي اﻟﺒِﺤﺎ ِر‬

َ ‫َوُﻣ ْﺠ ِﺮ‬
And provides provisions to whatever is
therein
wa r¡ziqa man f¢hinna, ،‫ﻦ‬ ‫َورا ِز َق َﻣ ْﻦ ﻓﻴ ِﻬ‬
O the Originator of the heavens and wa f¡§ira alssam¡w¡ti wal-ara¤¢na
‫ﺿﻴﻦ َوأﻃْﺒﺎﻗِﻬﺎ‬ ِ
ِ  ‫ﻓﺎﻃﺮ اﻟ‬
the earth and their layers, wa a§b¡qih¡ َ ‫ﺴﻤﺎوات َواﻷ َر‬ َ ‫َو‬
And He Who causes the clouds to be
wa musakhkhira alssa¦¡bi wa ِ ‫ﺤﺎب وﻣ ْﺠ ِﺮي اﻟ ُﻔ ْﻠ‬
obedient (to Him) and He Who causes
mujriya alfulki.
.‫ﻚ‬ َ َُ ِ ‫ﺴ‬  ‫ﺨ َﺮ اﻟ‬ ‫ﺴ‬
َ ‫َوُﻣ‬
ships to move,
And He Who appoints the sun a wa j¡`ila alshshamsi ¤iy¡‘an wal-
،ً‫ﻴﺎء َواﻟ َﻘ َﻤ ِﺮ ﻧﻮرا‬ ِ ِ ‫ﺸﻤ‬ ِ
splendor and the moon a light, qamari n£ran, ً ‫ﺲﺿ‬ ْ  ‫َوﺟﺎﻋ َﻞ اﻟ‬
َ ‫َوﺧﺎﻟِ َﻖ‬
 ‫آد َم َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻪ اﻟ‬
And He Who is the Creator of Adam, wa kh¡liqa ¡dama `alayhi
peace be upon him, alssal¡mu,
،‫ﻼم‬
ُ ‫ﺴ‬
And the Maker of the Propehts from wa munsh’ia alanbiy¡‘i `alayhimu
،‫ﺘِ ِﻪ‬‫رﻳ‬ ُ‫ﻼم ِﻣ ْﻦ ذ‬ ِ ِ‫وﻣ ْﻨ ِﺸﺊ اﻷﻧْﺒ‬
 ‫ﻴﺎء َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻬ ُﻢ اﻟ‬
his offspring—peace be upon them, alssal¡mu min dhurr¢yatihi, ُ ‫ﺴ‬ َ َُ
wa mu`allima idr¢sa `adada
And He Who taught Idr¢s to calculate
‫ﻨﻴﻦ‬ ِ ِ 
the stars, and taught him the alnnuj£mi wal-¦is¡ba wal-ssin¢na َ ‫ﺴـ ـ‬
 ‫ـﺎب َواﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺠ ــﻮم َواﻟﺤﺴ ـ‬‫ـﺲ َﻋ ـ َﺪ َد اﻟﻨ‬
َ ‫َوُﻣ َﻌﻠ ـ َﻢ إ ْدرﻳ ـ‬
wal-shshuh£ra wa awq¡ti al- ِ ‫ﻗﺎت اﻷ ْز‬ ِ ‫ﺸﻬﻮر وأو‬
ْ َ َ  ‫َواﻟ‬
reckoning and the number of years and ،‫ﻣﺎن‬
months and the time; azm¡ni,

And He Who spoke to Moses wa mukallima m£s¡, ،‫ َﻢ ﻣﻮﺳﻰ‬‫َوُﻣ َﻜﻠ‬

And caused his stick to be serpent, wa j¡`ila `a¥¡hu §hu`b¡nan, ،ً‫ﺟﺎﻋ َﻞ َﻋﺼﺎﻩُ ﺛـُ ْﻌﺒﺎﻧﺎ‬ ِ ‫و‬
َ
ِ‫ﻮاح ﻋﻠـ ــﻰ ﻣﻮﺳـ ــﻰ ﻋﻠَﻴ ـ ـﻪ‬ ِ
And revealed the Torah in the tablets wa munzila alttawr¡ti fy al-alw¡¦i َْ َ ِ ‫ـ ـ ـ ْﻮراة ﻓـ ــﻲ اﻷﻟْ ـ ـ‬‫َوُﻣ ْﻨ ـ ـ ِﺰ َل اﻟﺘ‬
to Moses, peace be upon him; `al¡ m£s¡ `alayhi alssal¡mu.
.‫ﻼم‬
ُ ‫ﺴ‬  ‫اﻟ‬
ٍ ِ‫ﻚ ﻟ‬ ِ ‫وﻣ ْﺠ ِﺮي اﻟ ُﻔ ْﻠ‬
And He Who caused the ark of Noah to
run,
wa mujriya alfulki lin£¦in, ،‫ﻨﻮح‬ َ َُ
،‫ﺬﺑْ ِﺢ‬ ‫ﻤﺎﻋﻴﻞ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟ‬ ِ
And He Who ransomed Ishmael from wa f¡diya ism¡`¢la mina
slaughtering, aldhdhab¦i, َ ‫إﺳ‬ ْ ‫ي‬ َ ‫َوﻓﺎد‬
And He Who tried Jacob by the loss of wal-mubtaliy ya`q£ba bifaqdi ِ ِ ‫و‬
Joseph y£sufa,
،‫ﻒ‬ ُ ‫ﻘﻮب ﺑَِﻔ ْﻘﺪ‬
َ ‫ﻳﻮﺳ‬ َ ‫اﻟﻤ ْﺒﺘَﻠﻲ ﻳَـ ْﻌ‬ ُ َ
And He Who restored Joseph to him wa r¡dda y£sufa `alayhi ba`da ‫ﺖ َﻋﻴﻨ ـ ــﺎﻩُ ِﻣـ ـ ـ َﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﻀـ ـ ـ‬ ِ ‫ﻒ َﻋﻠَﻴـ ـ ـ ِﻪ ﺑـ ْﻌـ ـ ـ َﺪ‬
 َ‫أن اﺑْـﻴ‬ َ ْ َ ‫ﻳﻮﺳ ـ ـ‬ ُ ‫د‬ ‫َورا‬
(i.e. his father) after his eyes had ani abya¤¤at `ayn¡hu mina
ِ ‫اﻟﺒ‬
،‫ﻜﺎء‬
become white, out of heavy weeping. albuk¡‘i, ُ
Hence, his heart got rid of sadness and fatafarraja qalbuhu mina al¦uzni
،‫ﺸﺠﻰ‬  ‫اﻟﺤ ْﺰ ِن َواﻟ‬ ِ
sorrow; wal-shshaj¡, ُ ‫ج ﻗَـ ْﻠﺒُﻪُ ﻣ َﻦ‬ َ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻓَـﺘَـ َﻔ‬
And He Who granted Zachariah, in his
wa r¡ziqa zakariyy¡ ya¦y¡ `al¡ ِ ‫ورا ِز َق َزَﻛ ِﺮﻳﺎ ﻳﺤﻴﻰ ﻋﻠﻰ‬
ِ ‫اﻟﻜﺒَ ِﺮ ﺑَـ ْﻌ َﺪ اﻹ‬
‫ﻳﺎس‬
old age, John as son after he had
alkibari ba`da aliy¡si َ َْ ّ َ
despaired of so;

،‫َوُﻣ ْﺨ ِﺮ َج اﻟﻨّﺎﻗَ ِﺔ ﻟِﺼﺎﻟِ ٍﺢ‬

And He Who sent forth the she-camel
wa mukhrija alnn¡qati li¥¡li¦in,
to (Prophet) ¯¡li¦;
And He Who sent forth the awful cry
wa mursila al¥¥ay¦ati `al¡ muk¢dy ٍ ‫ﺼﻴﺤ ِﺔ َﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﻜﻴﺪي‬
،‫ﻫﻮد‬ ِ
on those who plotted against (Propeht)
h£din, ُ َ  ‫َوُﻣ ْﺮﺳ َﻞ اﻟ‬
H£d,
And He Who relieved Job from his
،‫ﻮب‬ ِ ِ ‫و‬
adversity,
wa k¡shifa albal¡‘i `an ayy£ba,
َ ّ‫ﻒ اﻟﺒَﻼء َﻋ ْﻦ أﻳ‬
َ ‫ﻛﺎﺷ‬َ

And He Who saved (Prophet) Lot from wa munjy luw§in mina alqawmi
.‫ﺸﻴﻦ‬ ِ ِ ِ ٍ
the committers of abomination; alf¡¦ish¢na. َ ‫َوُﻣ ْﻨﺠﻲ ﻟُﻮط ﻣ َﻦ اﻟ َﻘ ْﻮم اﻟﻔﺎﺣ‬
And He Who bestowed upon Luqm¡n
with wisdom;
wa w¡hiba al¦ikmati liluqm¡na, ،‫اﻟﺤ ْﻜ َﻤ ِﺔ ﻟِﻠُ ْﻘﻤﺎ َن‬
ِ ‫واﻫﺐ‬
َ ‫َو‬
ِ
And He Who ordered the Holy Spirit to wa mulqy ruw¦i alqudusi ‫س ﺑِ َﻜﻠِﻤﺎﺗِـ ـ ِﻪ َﻋﻠـ ــﻰ َﻣ ـ ـﺮﻳَ َﻢ َﻋﻠَْﻴﻬـ ــﺎ‬
ِ ‫وح اﻟ ُﻘ ـ ـ ُﺪ‬
ِ ‫َوُﻣﻠﻘـ ــﻲ ُر‬
convey His Words to Mary, peace be bikalim¡tihi `al¡ maryama
upon her, `alayh¡ alssal¡mu, ،‫ﻼم‬
ُ ‫ﺴ‬  ‫اﻟ‬
 ‫ﺖ ِﻣ ْﻨﻬﺎ َﻋ ْﺒ َﺪ َك ﻋﻴﺴﻰ َﻋﻠَ ْﻴ ِﻪ اﻟ‬
And He created from her His servant, wa khalaqta minh¡ `abdaka `¢s¡
Jesus, peace be upon him, `alayhi alssal¡mu,
،‫ﻼم‬
ُ ‫ﺴ‬ َ ‫َو َﺧﻠَ ْﻘ‬
And He Who punished the slayers of wal-muntaqima min qatalati
Joan, son of Zachariah, peace be upon ya¦y¡ bni zakariyy¡ `alayhim¡ ،‫ﻼم‬
ُ ‫ﺴ‬ ‫اﻟﻤ ْﻨﺘَ ِﻘ َﻢ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻗَـﺘَـﻠَ ِﺔ ﻳَ ْﺤﻴﻰ ﺑْ ِﻦ َزَﻛ ِﺮﻳّﺎ َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻬﻤﺎ اﻟ‬
ُ ‫َو‬
both of them; alssal¡mu,

َ ِ‫ﻚ ﻋﻴﺴﻰ إﻟﻰ َﺳﻤﺎﺋ‬

َ ‫ُﻚ ﺑَِﺮﻓْ ِﻌ‬
I beseech You by Your taking Jesus up wa as-aluka biraf`ika `¢s¡ il¡
to Your heavens, sam¡’ika
‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫وأﺳﺄﻟ‬
ْ
And by Your keeping him alive until
َ ِ‫ﻚ ﻟَﻪُ إﻟﻰ أ ْن ﺗَـ ْﻨﺘَ ِﻘ َﻢ ﻟَﻪُ ِﻣ ْﻦ أ ْﻋﺪاﺋ‬
َ ِ‫َوﺑِﺈﺑْﻘﺎﺋ‬
wa b’ibq¡’ika lahu il¡ an
You decide to retaliate upon Your
tantaqima lahu min a`d¡’ika.
.‫ﻚ‬
enemies for him.
O He Who sent Mu¦ammad—peace of wa y¡ mursila mu¦ammadin ¥all¡ ‫ﺻ ـ ـﻠّﻰ اﷲُ َﻋﻠَ ْﻴ ـ ـ ِﻪ َوآﻟِ ـ ـ ِﻪ ﺧـ ــﺎﺗِ ِﻢ‬ ٍ ِ
َ ‫ﻤـ ــﺪ‬ ‫َوﻳـ ــﺎ ُﻣ ْﺮﺳ ـ ـ َﻞ ُﻣ َﺤ‬
Allah be upon him and his all¡hu `alayhi wa ¡lihi kh¡timi
Household—the seal of Your Prophets, anbiy¡’ika َ ِ‫أﻧْﺒِﻴﺎﺋ‬
‫ﻚ‬
To the most evil of Your slaves,
Il¡ asharri `ib¡dika bishar¡’i`ika
،‫اﻟﺤ َﺴﻨَ ِﺔ‬ ِ ‫ﺮ ِﻋ‬ ‫إﻟﻰ أ َﺷ‬
َ ‫ﺒﺎد َك ﺑِ َﺸﺮاﺋِ ِﻌ‬
carrying to them Your excellent
al¦asanati, َ ‫ﻚ‬
commandments,
And Your straight religion, wa d¢nika alqayyimi, َ ِ‫َودﻳﻨ‬
،‫ ِﻢ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ َﻘﻴ‬
Which is extension of the religion of
wa millati ibr¡h¢ma khal¢lika
‫ﻼم‬ َ ِ‫ﺮاﻫﻴﻢ َﺧﻠﻴﻠ‬
 ‫ﻚ َﻋﻠَ ْﻴ ِﻪ اﻟ‬ ِ ِ
Your intimate friend, Abraham, peace
`alayhi alssal¡mu ُ ‫ﺴ‬ َ ْ‫َوﻣﻠﺔ إﺑ‬
be upon him,
And (You sent him for) making His
straight religion prevail over all wa i¨h¡ri d¢nihi alqayyimi, ،‫ ِﻢ‬‫َوإﻇْﻬﺎ ِر دﻳﻨِ ِﻪ اﻟ َﻘﻴ‬
religions,
ِ َ ِ‫وإﻋﻼﺋ‬
And making His Word be the highest. wa i`l¡’ika kalimatahu ُ‫ﻚ َﻛﻠ َﻤﺘَﻪ‬ َ
O the Lord of majesty and honor; y¡ dh¡ aljal¡li wal-ikr¡mi, ِ ِ
،‫اﻟﺠﻼل َواﻹﻛﺮام‬ َ ‫ﻳﺎ ذا‬
،‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ ْﻦ ﻻ ﺗَﺄ ُﺧ ُﺬﻩُ ِﺳﻨَﺔٌ َوﻻ ﻧَـ ْﻮٌم‬
O He Whom is not overtaken by sleep y¡ man l¡ takhudhuhu sinatun wa
or slumber; l¡ nawmun,
O the One and Only; O the Besought of
all;
y¡ a¦adu y¡ ¥amadu ‫ﺻ َﻤ ُﺪ‬
َ ‫أﺣ ُﺪ ﻳﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻳﺎ‬
O the Almighty; O the Able; O the ِ ‫ﻗﺎدر ﻳﺎ‬
،‫ﻗﺎﻫ ُﺮ‬ ِ
Omnipotent;
y¡ `az¢zu y¡ q¡diru y¡ q¡hiru,
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻋﺰ ُﻳﺰ ﻳﺎ‬
O the Owner of power and authority y¡ dh¡ alquwwati w¡lssul§¡ni ِ ‫ﺴ‬
‫ﻠﻄﺎن‬  ‫ﻮِة واﻟ‬ ‫ﻳﺎ ذا اﻟ ُﻘ‬
ِ ‫اﻟﻜﺒ ِﺮ‬
.‫ﻳﺎء‬ ِ ِ ‫واﻟﺠﺒ‬
And supremacy and grandeur; wal-jabar£ti wal-kibriy¡‘i. ْ ‫ﺮوت َو‬ ََ َ
‫ﺪﻳﺮ‬ ِ
O the Most High; O the All-powerful; y¡ `aliyyu y¡ qad¢ru
ُ َ‫ﻲ ﻳﺎ ﻗ‬ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻋﻠ‬
O the Nigh; O the Responding; y¡ qar¢bu y¡ muj¢bu, ،‫ﺠﻴﺐ‬
ُ ‫ﺮﻳﺐ ﻳﺎ ُﻣ‬ ُ َ‫ﻳﺎ ﻗ‬
O the Forebearing; O the Reproducer y¡ ¦al¢mu y¡ mu`¢du, ،‫ﻠﻴﻢ ﻳﺎ ُﻣﻌﻴ ُﺪ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ َﺣ‬

(of creation);
O the Approaching; O the Far-off; y¡ mutad¡ny y¡ ba`¢du, ،‫ﻳﺎ ُﻣﺘَﺪاﻧﻲ ﻳﺎ ﺑَﻌﻴ ُﺪ‬
O the All-kind; O the All-merciful; y¡ rau´£fu y¡ ra¦¢mu ‫ﺣﻴﻢ‬
ُ ‫ؤوف ﻳﺎ َر‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ َر‬
O the All-generous; O the All-
forgiving;
y¡ kar¢mu y¡ ghaf£ru, ،‫ﻔﻮر‬
ُ َ‫ﻳﻢ ﻳﺎ ﻏ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻛﺮ‬
O the Owner of excuse; y¡ dh¡ al¥¥af¦i ‫ﺼ ْﻔ ِﺢ‬
 ‫ﻳﺎ ذا اﻟ‬
O the Aide; O the provider of food; y¡ mugh¢§hu y¡ mu§`imu, ،‫ﻐﻴﺚ ﻳﺎ ُﻣﻄْ ِﻌ ُﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ ُﻣ‬
O the Healer; O the Rescuer; y¡ sh¡fy y¡ k¡f¢, ،‫ﻳﺎ ﺷﺎﻓﻲ ﻳﺎ ﻛﺎﻓﻲ‬
O the Provider with dress; O the Curer; y¡ k¡sy y¡ mu`¡f¢, ،‫ﻳﺎ ﻛﺎﺳﻲ ﻳﺎ ُﻣﻌﺎﻓﻲ‬
O the Alleviator of harms; y¡ sh¡fy al¤¤urri,  ‫ﻳﺎ ﺷﺎﻓﻲ اﻟ‬
،‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻀ‬
O the All-knowing; O the All-wise; O
the All-loving;
y¡ `al¢mu y¡ ¦ak¢mu y¡ wad£du. .‫دود‬
ُ ‫ﻜﻴﻢ ﻳﺎ َو‬
ُ ‫ﻠﻴﻢ ﻳﺎ َﺣ‬
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻋ‬
O the All-forgiver; O the All-merciful: y¡ ghaf£ru y¡ ra¦¢mu ‫ﺣﻴﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﻔﻮر ﻳﺎ َر‬ ُ َ‫ﻳﺎ ﻏ‬
،‫ﺪﻧﻴﺎ َواﻵ ِﺧ َﺮِة‬ ‫ﻳﺎ َر ْﺣﻤﺎ َن اﻟ‬
O the Beneficent of this world and the y¡ ra¦m¡na alddun¢¡ wal-
Hereafter; ¡khirati,
O the Lord of the Ascending Stairways;
O the Lord of sanctity;
y¡ dh¡ alma`¡riji y¡ dh¡ alqudsi, ِ ‫ﻳﺎ ذا اﻟْ َﻤﻌﺎ ِر ِج ﻳﺎ ذا اﻟ ُﻘ ْﺪ‬
،‫س‬
‫ﻠﻴﻢ‬ ِ
O the Creator; O the All-knowing; y¡ kh¡liqu y¡ `al¢mu
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ ﺧﺎﻟ ُﻖ ﻳﺎ َﻋ‬
O the Reliever; O the Turning with
mercy;
y¡ mufarriju y¡ aww¡bu ‫اب‬
ُ ‫ج ﻳﺎ ّأو‬
ُ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻳﺎ ُﻣ َﻔ‬
،‫ﺒﻴﺮ‬ ِ
O the Lord of bounty; O the All-aware; y¡ dh¡ al§§awli y¡ khab¢ru,
ُ ‫ﻳﺎ ذا اﻟﻄ ْﻮل ﻳﺎ َﺧ‬
O He Who created, but He was not
created;
y¡ man khalaqa wa lam yukhlaq ‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ ْﻦ َﺧﻠَ َﻖ َوﻟَ ْﻢ ﻳُ ْﺨﻠَ ْﻖ‬
O He Who never begets nor was he
begotten;
y¡ man lam yalid wa lam y£lad, ،‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ ْﻦ ﻟَ ْﻢ ﻳَﻠِ ْﺪ َوﻟَ ْﻢ ﻳُﻮﻟَ ْﺪ‬
O He Who is different from all things; y¡ man b¡na mina alash¢¡‘i ِ ‫ﻳﺎ ﻣﻦ ﺑﺎ َن ِﻣﻦ اﻷ ْﺷ‬
‫ﻴﺎء‬ َ َْ
And all things are different from Him
wa b¡nati alash¢¡‘u minhu ِ ‫ﺖ اﻷ ْﺷﻴﺎء ِﻣ ْﻨﻪ ﺑَِﻘﻬ ِﺮِﻩ ﻟَﻬﺎ و ُﺧ‬
،ُ‫ﻀﻮﻋﻬﺎ ﻟَﻪ‬ ِ َ‫وﺑﺎﻧ‬
out of His prevelance over them and
biqahrihi lah¡ wa khu¤£`ih¡ lahu, َ ْ ُ ُ َ
their submission before Him;
O He Who created the oceans and y¡ man khalaqa albi¦¡ra wa ajr¡
‫ﻬﺎر‬ ِ
caused the rivers to flow; alanh¡ra َ ْ‫أﺟﺮى اﻷﻧ‬
ْ ‫ﺤﺎر َو‬
َ ‫ﻳﺎ َﻣ ْﻦ َﺧﻠَ َﻖ اﻟﺒ‬
،‫ﺠﺎر َوأ ْﺧ َﺮ َج ِﻣ ْﻨﻬﺎ اﻟﻨّ َﺎر‬
And He caused the trees to grow and wa anbata alashj¡ra wa akhraja
He extracted fire from them minh¡ alnn¡ra, َ ‫ﺖ اﻷ ْﺷ‬
َ َ‫َوأﻧْـﺒ‬
And extracted plants and rapes and the wa min y¡bisi alara¤¢na alnnab¡ta ‫ـﺎب َوﺳـ ــﺎﺋَِﺮ‬
َ ‫ـﺎت َواﻷ ْﻋﻨـ ـ‬
َ ‫ﺒـ ـ‬‫ـﻴﻦ اﻟﻨ‬
َ ‫اﻷرﺿـ ـ‬
َ ‫ﺲ‬ ِ ِ‫َوِﻣ ـ ـ ْﻦ ﻳـ ــﺎﺑ‬
other fruits from the dry lands. wal-a`n¡ba wa s¡’ira al§h§him¡ri.
.‫ﻤﺎ ِر‬‫اﻟﺜ‬
O He Who set apart the river for His y¡ f¡liqa alba¦ri li`abdihi m£s¡
servant, Moses, peace be upon him, `alayhi alssal¡mu wa ،ُ‫ َﻤﻪ‬‫ﻼم َوُﻣ َﻜﻠ‬
ُ ‫ﺴ‬ ‫ﻳﺎ ﻓﺎﻟِ َﻖ اﻟﺒَﺤ ِﺮ ﻟِ َﻌ ْﺒ ِﺪ ِﻩ ﻣﻮﺳﻰ َﻋﻠَ ْﻴ ِﻪ اﻟ‬
and He Who spoke to him, mukallimahu,
And He Who drowned Pharaoh and ِ ِ
faction
wa mughriqa fir`awna wa ¦izbahu ُ‫َوُﻣﻐْ ِﺮ َق ﻓ ْﺮ َﻋ ْﻮ َن َوﺣ ْﺰﺑَﻪ‬

َ ِ‫َوُﻣ ْﻬﻠ‬
And He Who destroyed Nimrud and wa muhlika namr£da wa
his groups ashy¡`ahu,
،ُ‫ﻴﺎﻋﻪ‬
َ ‫ﺮود َوأ ْﺷ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﻧَ ْﻤ‬
And He Who made the iron pliant for
 ‫ﺪﻳﺪ ﻟِ َﺨﻠﻴ َﻔﺘِ ِﻪ داوو َد َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻪ اﻟ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ اﻟﺤ‬‫وﻣﻠَﻴ‬
wa mulayyina al¦ad¢di likhal¢fatihi
His vicegerent, David, peace be upon
d¡w£da `alayhi alssal¡mu,
،‫ﻼم‬
ُ ‫ﺴ‬ َ َ َُ
him,
And He Who subdued the hills to hymn wa musakhkhira aljib¡li ma`ahu
the praises (of their Lord) with him at yusabbi¦na bi¡lghuduwwi wal- ِ ‫و واﻵ‬ ‫ ْﺤﻦ ﺑِﺎﻟﻐُ ُﺪ‬‫ﺒﺎل َﻣ َﻌﻪُ ﻳُﺴﺒ‬
،‫ﺻﺎل‬ ِ ‫ﺨﺮ‬ ‫وﻣﺴ‬
ِ ‫اﻟﺠ‬
َ َ َ َ َ َُ
nightfall and sunrise; ¡¥¡li,
And He Who subdued the birds and wa musakhkhira al§§ayri wal-
ِ ‫ـﺎح و‬
the verments and the winds and the haw¡mmi wal-rriy¡¦i wal-jinni ِ ‫ﻦ َواﻹﻧْـ ـ‬ ‫اﻟﺠـ ـ‬
‫ﺲ‬ َ ‫ْﻴـ ـ ِﺮ َو‬‫ﺨ َﺮ اﻟﻄ‬ ‫ﺴـ ـ‬
َ ِ ‫ﺮﻳ ـ‬ ‫م َواﻟ‬ ‫اﻟﻬـ ـﻮا‬ َ ‫َوُﻣ‬
 ‫ﻟِ َﻌ ْﺒ ِﺪ َك ُﺳﻠَْﻴﻤﺎ َن َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻪ اﻟ‬
jinn and the humankind for His wal-insi li`abdika sulaym¡na
‫ﻼم‬
ُ ‫ﺴ‬
servant, Solomon, peace be upon him; `alayhi alssal¡mu
wa as-aluka bismika alladhy
َ ‫ﺎﺳ ِﻤ‬
I beseech You by Your Name to which
Your Throen shook ahtazza lahu `arshuka َ ‫ﺰ ﻟَﻪُ َﻋ ْﺮ ُﺷ‬ ‫ﺬي ْاﻫﺘَـ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬
‫ﻚ‬ ْ ِ‫ُﻚ ﺑ‬
َ ‫وأﺳﺄﻟ‬
ْ
َ ُ‫ﺖ ﺑِ ِﻪ َﻣﻼﺋِ َﻜﺘ‬
And by which Your angels were
delighted;
wa fari¦at bihi mal¡’ikatuka, ،‫ﻚ‬ ْ ‫َوﻓَ ِﺮ َﺣ‬
So, there is no god save You; fal¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta ‫ﺖ‬
َ ْ‫ﻓَﻼ إﻟَ َﻪ إﻻّ أﻧ‬
،‫ ِﺔ‬‫اﻟﺤﺒ‬ ِ ِ
ُ ‫ﺴ َﻤ ِﺔ َوﺑﺎ ِر‬
The Creator of souls and the Maker of kh¡liqu alnnasamati wa b¡r’iu
seeds and the Splitter of grains; alnnaw¡ wa f¡liqu al¦abbati, َ ‫ﻮى َوﻓﺎﻟ ُﻖ‬‫ئ اﻟﻨ‬ َ ‫ﺧﺎﻟ ُﻖ اﻟﻨ‬
wa bismika al`az¢zi aljal¢li alkab¢ri
َ ‫ﺎﺳ ِﻤ‬
And by Your Name: the Almighty, the ِ َ‫ﻠﻴﻞ اﻟ َﻜﺒﻴ ِﺮ اﻟﻤﺘ‬
Lofty, the Great, the high Exalted; almuta`¡li.
.‫ﻌﺎل‬ ُ ِ ‫اﻟﺠ‬َ ‫اﻟﻌﺰﻳ ِﺰ‬ َ ‫ﻚ‬ ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬
And by Your Name by which Your wa bismika alladhy yanfukhu bihi ‫ﺮاﻓﻴﻞ‬
ُ ‫إﺳـ‬ َ ‫ــﺬي ﻳَـﻨْـ ُﻔ ُﺦ ﺑِـ ِﻪ َﻋ ْﺒـ ُﺪ َك َوَﻣﻠَ ُﻜـ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺳـ ِﻤ‬
ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬
servant and angel, Michael, peace be `abduka wa malakuka isr¡f¢lu
upon him, shall blow the Trumpet, `alayhi alssal¡mu fy al¥¥£ri, ،‫اﻟﺼﻮِر‬ّ ‫ﻼم ﻓﻲ‬ ُ ‫ﺴ‬  ‫َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻪ اﻟ‬
And thus the inhabitants of graves
،‫ﻘﻮم ْأﻫ ُﻞ اﻟ ُﻘﺒﻮِر ِﺳﺮاﻋﺎً إﻟﻰ اﻟْ َﻤ ْﺤ َﺸ ِﺮ ﻳَـ ْﻨ ِﺴﻠﻮ َن‬
fayaq£mu ahlu alqub£ri sir¡`an
shall stand up, hasting to the place of
il¡ alma¦shari yansil£na, ُ َ‫ﻓَـﻴ‬
resurrection;
And by Your Name by which You wa bismika alladhy rafa`ta bihi ٍ ‫ﻤﺎوات ِﻣﻦ ﻏَﻴ ِﺮ ِﻋ‬
ِ ‫ﺴ‬  ‫ﺖ ﺑِ ِﻪ اﻟ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺳ ِﻤ‬
uplifted the heavens without supports alssam¡w¡ti min ghayri `im¡din
‫ﻤﺎد‬ ْ ْ َ ‫ﺬي َرﻓَـ ْﻌ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬ ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬
And by which You made bulwarks for
،ً‫ﺿﻴﻦ أوﺗﺎدا‬ ِ ِ ِ َ ‫وﺟﻌ ْﻠ‬
the earth;
wa ja`alta bihi lilara¤¢na awt¡dan,
َ ‫ﻸر‬َ ‫ﺖ ﺑﻪ ﻟ‬ ََ َ
And by Your Name by which You ِ ‫ــﺬي ﺳ ـﻄَﺤﺖ ﺑِـ ِﻪ اﻷرﺿــﻴﻦ ﻓَـ ـﻮ َق اﻟﻤـ‬‫وﺑِﺎﺳـ ِﻤﻚ اﻟ‬
‫ـﺎء‬
wa bismika alladhy sa§a¦ta bihi ْ َ َ َ ْ َ َ ْ َ
surfaced the earth on the repressed
alara¤¢na fawqa alm¡‘i alma¦b£si, ِ ‫اﻟْ َﻤ ْﺤ‬
water; ،‫ﺒﻮس‬
َ ِ‫ﺖ ﺑِ ِﻪ ذﻟ‬
wa bismika alladhy ¦abasta bihi
َ ‫ﺎﺳ ِﻤ‬
And by Your Name by which You
repressed that water; dhlika alm¡‘a
‫اﻟﻤﺎء‬
َ ‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫ﺬي َﺣﺒَ ْﺴ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬ ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬
ِ ِ َ ‫ــﺬي ﺣﻤ ْﻠ ـ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺳ ـ ِﻤ‬
And by Your Name by which You
caused him whom You chose for
wa bismika alladhy ¦amalta bihi
alara¤¢na mani akhtartahu
ُ‫ـﻴﻦ َﻣ ـ ِﻦ ا ْﺧﺘَـ ْﺮﺗَ ـﻪ‬
َ ‫اﻷرﺿـ‬َ ‫ﺖ ﺑ ـﻪ‬ ََ ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬
undertaking the earth to undertake it li¦amlih¡, ،‫ﻟِ َﺤ ْﻤﻠِﻬﺎ‬
And You supplied him with the power wa ja`alta lahu mina alquwwati
.‫اﺳﺘَﻌﺎ َن ﺑِ ِﻪ َﻋﻠﻰ َﺣ ْﻤﻠِﻬﺎ‬ ِ ِ
that helped him undertake it; m¡ asta`¡na bihi `al¡ ¦amlih¡. ْ ‫ﻮة ﻣﺎ‬ ‫ﺖ ﻟَﻪُ ﻣ َﻦ اﻟ ُﻘ‬َ ‫َو َﺟ َﻌ ْﻠ‬
And by Your Name by which the sun
and the moon move;
wa bismika alladhy tajry bihi
alshshamsu wal-qamaru,
،‫ﺲ َواﻟ َﻘ َﻤ ُﺮ‬
ُ ‫ﺸ ْﻤ‬ ‫ﺬي ﺗَ ْﺠﺮي ﺑِ ِﻪ اﻟ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺳ ِﻤ‬
ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬
،‫ﻬﺎر ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﻠَْﻴ ِﻞ‬ ِ ِ َ ‫ﺬي ﺳﻠَ ْﺨ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬
wa bismika alladhy salakhta bihi
َ ‫ﺎﺳ ِﻤ‬
And by Your Name by which You strip
the day of the night; alnnah¡ra mina allayli, َ ‫ﺖ ﺑﻪ اﻟﻨ‬ َ ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬
ِ ‫اﻟﻌ‬ ِ ‫ﺖ أرزا َق‬ ِ َ ‫ﺬي إذا ُد‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺳ ِﻤ‬
And by Your Name; if You are prayed wa bismika alladhy idh¡ du`¢ta ‫ﺒﺎد‬ ْ َ ْ‫ﻋﻴﺖ ﺑِﻪ أﻧْـ َﺰﻟ‬ ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬

by it, You bring down the provisions of bihi anzalta arz¡qa al`ib¡di
the servants
And all Your creatures wa jam¢`i khalqika ‫ﻚ‬َ ‫َو َﺟﻤﻴ ِﻊ َﺧ ْﻠ ِﻘ‬
And Your lands and Your oceans wa ar¤ika wa bi¦¡rika ‫ﻚ َوﺑِﺤﺎ ِر َك‬ َ‫ﺿ‬ ِ ‫وأر‬
َْ
And the inhabitants of the oceans and
wa sukk¡ni albi¦¡ri wal-haw¡mmi, ِ ‫وﺳ ّﻜ‬
ّ ‫ﺎن اﻟﺒِﺤﺎ ِر َو‬
،‫م‬ ‫اﻟﻬﻮا‬
the verments َُ
And the jinn and the humankind wal-jinni wal-insi ‫ﺲ‬ ِ ‫و‬
ِ ْ‫ﻦ َواﻹﻧ‬ ‫اﻟﺠ‬ َ
And every creeping creature that You wa kulli d¡bbatin anta ¡khidhun
‫ﻨﺎﺻﻴَﺘِﻬﺎ‬ ِ ‫ﺖ‬
ِ ِ‫آﺧ ٌﺬ ﺑ‬ َ ْ‫ٍﺔ أﻧ‬‫ﻞ داﺑ‬ ‫َوُﻛ‬
grasp by the forelock! bin¡¥iyatih¡

You verily have power over all things. innaka `al¡ kulli shay‘ qad¢run. .‫ﺪﻳﺮ‬
ٌ َ‫ﻞ َﺷ ْﻲ ْء ﻗ‬ ‫ﻚ َﻋﻠﻰ ُﻛ‬ َ ‫إﻧ‬
wa bismika alladhy ja`alta bihi
And by Your Name by which You made
lija`fara `alayhi alssal¡mu ‫ﻼم‬  ‫ﺖ ﺑِـ ـ ِﻪ ﻟِ َﺠ ْﻌ َﻔـ ـ َﺮ َﻋﻠَْﻴـ ـ ِﻪ اﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﺴـ ـ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺳـ ـ ِﻤ‬
َ ‫ــﺬي َﺟ َﻌ ْﻠـ ـ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬ ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬
a wing for Ja`far, peace be upon him,
by which he flies with the angels;
jan¡¦an ya§¢ru bihi ma`a
،‫ﻄﻴﺮ ﺑِ ِﻪ َﻣ َﻊ اﻟْ َﻤﻼﺋِ َﻜ ِﺔ‬
ُ َ‫َﺟﻨﺎﺣﺎً ﻳ‬
almal¡’ikati,
And by Your Name by which Jonah—
peace be upon him—prayed You from
wa bismika alladhy da`¡ka bihi ‫ﻼم ﻓــﻲ‬  ‫ﺲ َﻋﻠَْﻴـ ِﻪ اﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﺴـ‬
ِ ِ َ ‫ــﺬي َدﻋـ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬
ُ ُ‫ـﺎك ﺑـﻪ ﻳُـﻮﻧ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺳـ ِﻤ‬
ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬
yuwnusu `alayhi alssal¡mu fy
the interior of the whale; and You thus
ba§ni al¦£ti fakhrajtahu minhu, ،ُ‫اﻟﺤﻮت ﻓَﺄ ْﺧ َﺮ ْﺟﺘَﻪُ ِﻣ ْﻨﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﺑَﻄْ ِﻦ‬
took him out of there;
And by Your Name by which You
،‫ﺖ ﺑِ ِﻪ َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻪ َﺷ َﺠ َﺮةً ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻳَـ ْﻘﻄﻴ ٍﻦ‬
wa bismika alladhy anbatta bihi
caused a tree of gourd to grow above
`alayhi shajaratan min yaq§¢nin, َ ‫ﺎﺳ ِﻤ‬
 َ‫ﺬي أﻧْـﺒ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬ ْ ِ‫َوﺑ‬
him;
Hence, You responded to him and
relieved from the distress that he had
f¡stajabta lahu wa kashafta `anhu ِ ‫ﺖ َﻋ ْﻨـﻪُ ﻣــﺎ ﻛــﺎ َن ﻓﻴـ ِـﻪ َﻣـ ْﻦ ﺿـ‬
‫ـﻴﻖ‬ َ ‫ﺖ ﻟَـﻪُ َوَﻛ َﺸـ ْﻔ‬َ ‫ﺎﺳـﺘَ َﺠ ْﺒ‬
ْ َ‫ﻓ‬
m¡ k¡na f¢hi man ¤¢qi ba§ni
experienced in the interior of the
al¦£ti.
ِ
.‫اﻟﺤﻮت‬ ‫ﺑَﻄْ ِﻦ‬
whale;
I beseech You to send blessings upon
Mu¦ammad, Your servant and Your
as-aluka an tu¥alliya `al¡
َ ِ‫ﻤ ـ ٍـﺪ َﻋ ْﺒـ ـ ِﺪ َك َوَرﺳ ــﻮﻟ‬ ‫ َﻲ َﻋﻠ ــﻰ ُﻣ َﺤ‬‫ﺼـ ـﻠ‬
‫ﻚ‬ َ ُ‫ُﻚ أ ْن ﺗ‬َ ‫أﺳ ــﺄﻟ‬
ْ
mu¦ammadin `abdika wa ras£lika
Messenger, and upon his Household, ،‫ﺒﻴﻦ‬  ِ ِ
the Immaculate,
wa `al¡ ¡lihi al§§ayyib¢na, َ ‫َو َﻋﻠﻰ آﻟﻪ اﻟﻄﻴ‬
And to relieve me (from my distress) wa an tufarrija `anny wa takshifa ‫ﺿ ـ ّﺮي َوﺗَ ْﺴ ـﺘَـ ْﻨ ِﻘ َﺬﻧﻲ ِﻣ ـ ْﻦ‬ َ ‫ج َﻋﻨّ ـﻲ َوﺗَ ْﻜ ِﺸ ـ‬
ُ ‫ﻒ‬ َ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫َوأ ْن ﺗُـ َﻔ ـ‬
and to remove away my harm and to ¤urry wa tastanqidhany min
save me from my troubles war§at¢, ،‫َورﻃَﺘﻲ‬
And to release me from my ordeal wa tukhalli¥any min mi¦nat¢, ،‫ﺼﻨﻲ ِﻣ ْﻦ ِﻣ ْﺤﻨَﺘﻲ‬ َ ‫َوﺗُ َﺨﻠ‬
And to help me settle my debts wa taq¤iya `anny duy£n¢, ،‫ﻀ َﻲ َﻋﻨّﻲ ُدﻳﻮﻧﻲ‬ ِ ‫وﺗَـ ْﻘ‬
َ
And to help me fulfill my trust wa tu´addiya `anny am¡nat¢, ،‫ي َﻋﻨّﻲ أﻣﺎﻧَﺘﻲ‬ َ ‫د‬ ‫َوﺗُـ َﺆ‬
And to suppress my enemies wa takbuta a`d¡’¢, ،‫ﺖ أ ْﻋﺪاﺋﻲ‬ َ ُ‫َوﺗَ ْﻜﺒ‬
َ ‫َوﻻ ﺗُ ْﺸ ِﻤ‬
And not to make those who envy me
rejoice at my misfortune
wa l¡ tushmita by ¦uss¡d¢, ،‫ﺴﺎدي‬
ّ ‫ﺖ ﺑﻲ ُﺣ‬
،‫َوﻻ ﺗَـ ْﺒﺘَﻠِﻴَﻨﻲ ﺑِﻤﺎ ﻻ ﻃﺎﻗَﺔَ ﻟﻲ ﺑِ ِﻪ‬
And not to try me through that which I wa l¡ tabtaliyany bim¡ l¡ §¡qata
cannot stand ly bihi,

And to make me attain my hope wa an tuballighany aumn¢yat¢, ،‫ﺘﻲ‬‫ﻐَﻨﻲ أُ ْﻣﻨِﻴ‬‫َوأ ْن ﺗُـﺒَـﻠ‬

And to make easy for me my ordeal wa tusahhila ly mi¦nat¢, ،‫ﻬ َﻞ ﻟﻲ ِﻣ ْﺤﻨَﺘﻲ‬ ‫َوﺗُ َﺴ‬

And to facilitate my determination
And to make me reach my desire
And to join for me the welfare of the
two abodes (i.e. this world and the
Next World)
And to safeguard me as well as
everybody for whom I care
wa tuyassira ly ar¡dat¢, ،‫ادﺗﻲ‬ َ ‫ﺴ َﺮ ﻟﻲ أر‬
 َ‫َوﺗُـﻴ‬
wa tuw¥ilany il¡ bughyat¢, ،‫ﻮﺻﻠَﻨﻲ إﻟﻰ ﺑُـﻐْﻴَﺘﻲ‬ِ ُ‫وﺗ‬
َ
wa tajma`a ly khayra aldd¡rayni, ،‫َوﺗَ ْﺠ َﻤ َﻊ ﻟﻲ َﺧ ْﻴـ َﺮ اﻟ ّﺪ َارﻳْ ِﻦ‬
wa ta¦rusany wa kulla man
yu`n¢ny amruhu,
،ُ‫ﻞ َﻣ ْﻦ ﻳُﻌﻨﻴﻨﻲ أ ْﻣ ُﺮﻩ‬ ‫َوﺗَ ْﺤ ُﺮ َﺳﻨﻲ َوُﻛ‬

َ ِ‫ﺑِ َﻌﻴﻨ‬
With Your eye that never sleeps at bi`aynika allty l¡ tan¡mu fy allayli
night or in days; wal-nnah¡ri,
،‫ﻬﺎ ِر‬‫ﻨﺎم ﻓﻲ اﻟﻠَْﻴ ِﻞ َواﻟﻨ‬
ُ َ‫ﻚ اﻟّﺘﻲ ﻻ ﺗ‬
O the Lord of majesty and honor and y¡ dh¡ aljal¡li wal-ikr¡mi wal-
ِ ‫اﻟﻌ‬ ِ ‫ﺮام واﻷﺳ‬
ِ ‫ﻤﺎء‬ ِ ‫اﻟﺠ‬
Grand Names. asm¡‘i al`i¨¡mi.
.‫ﻈﺎم‬ ْ َ ِ ‫ﻼل واﻹ ْﻛ‬ َ ‫ﻳﺎ ذا‬
O Allah: O my Lord: I am verily Your all¡humma y¡ rabbu ana
servant and the son of Your servant `abduka w¡bnu `abdika w¡bnu َ ِ‫ب أﻧﺎ َﻋ ْﺒ ُﺪ َك َواﺑْ ُﻦ َﻋ ْﺒ ِﺪ َك َواﺑْ ُﻦ َأﻣﺘ‬
‫ﻚ‬  ‫ﻢ ﻳﺎ َر‬ ‫اَﻟﻠ ُّﻬ‬
and Your bondwoman amatika

‫ﺻـ ـ ـﻠّﻰ اﷲُ َﻋﻠَْﻴـ ـ ـ ِﻪ‬ ِ ‫وِﻣـ ـ ـﻦ أوﻟِﻴ ـ ـ‬

ِ ‫ـﺎء ْأﻫـ ـ ـ ِﻞ ﺑـ ْﻴـ ـ ـ‬
And I am one of the loyalists of Your wa min awliy¡‘i ahli bayti
nabiyyika ¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi wa
َ ‫ـ ـ ـ‬‫ﺖ ﻧَﺒِﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻚ‬ َ ْ ْ َ
Prophet’s Household—peace of Allah
be upon him and them— `alayhim, ،‫َو َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻬ ْﻢ‬
‫ﺖ َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻬ ْﻢ‬ َ ‫ﺑﺎرْﻛ‬ 
Upon whom You showered blessings ¡lladh¢na b¡rakta `alayhim
َ ‫ﺬﻳﻦ‬ َ ‫اﻟ‬
And whom You had mercy and You wa ra¦imtahum wa ¥allayta
‫ﺖ َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻬ ْﻢ‬ َ ‫ْﻴ‬‫ﺻﻠ‬ ِ
blessed `alayhim َ ‫َوَرﺣ ْﻤﺘَـ ُﻬ ْﻢ َو‬
In the same way as You blessed and
kam¡ ¥allayta wa b¡rakta `al¡
ِ ‫ﺖ َﻋﻠﻰ إﺑْﺮاﻫﻴﻢ و‬
ِ ‫آل إﺑﺮ‬
‫اﻫﻴﻢ‬ َ ‫ﺑﺎرْﻛ‬ َ ‫ْﻴ‬‫ﺻﻠ‬
sanctified Abraham and the household
of Abraham;
ibr¡h¢ma wa ¡li ibr¡h¢mi ََ َ ‫ﺖ َو‬ َ ‫َﻛﻤﺎ‬
Verily, You are worthy of all praise, full
of all Glory.
innaka ¦am¢dun maj¢dun, َ ‫إﻧ‬
،‫ﻚ َﺣﻤﻴ ٌﺪ َﻣﺠﻴ ٌﺪ‬

َ ِ‫َوﻟِ َﻤ ْﺠ ِﺪ َك َوﻃَ ْﻮﻟ‬

And depending upon Your glory and
Your bountifulness,
wa limajdika wa §awlika, ،‫ﻚ‬
I beseech You; O my Lord; O my Lord; as-aluka y¡ rabb¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu ُ‫ُﻚ ﻳﺎ َرﺑّﺎﻩُ ﻳﺎ َرﺑّﺎﻩ‬ َ ‫أﺳﺄﻟ‬ ْ
O my Lord; O my Lord; y¡ rabb¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu ُ‫ﻳﺎ َرﺑّﺎﻩُ ﻳﺎ َرﺑّﺎﻩ‬
O my Lord; O my Lord; y¡ rabb¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu ُ‫ﻳﺎ َرﺑّﺎﻩُ ﻳﺎ َرﺑّﺎﻩ‬
O my Lord; O my Lord; y¡ rabb¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu ُ‫ﻳﺎ َرﺑّﺎﻩُ ﻳﺎ َرﺑّﺎﻩ‬
O my Lord; O my Lord; y¡ rabb¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu ُ‫ﻳﺎ َرﺑّﺎﻩُ ﻳﺎ َرﺑّﺎﻩ‬
َ ِ‫ﻤ ٍﺪ َﻋ ْﺒ ِﺪ َك َوَرﺳﻮﻟ‬ ‫ﻖ ُﻣ َﺤ‬ ‫ﺑِ َﺤ‬
In the name of Mu¦ammad, Your bi¦aqqi mu¦ammadin `abdika wa
servant and Messenger, ras£lika
‫ﻚ‬

،‫ﺻﻠّﻰ اﷲُ َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻪ َوآﻟِ ِﻪ‬

Peace of Allah be upon his and his
¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi wa ¡lihi,
Household, َ
َ ‫ﻚ َﻋﻠﻰ ﻧَـ ْﻔ ِﺴ‬
And in the name of Your duty toward
Yourself
wa bi¦aqqika `al¡ nafsika ‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫ﻘ‬ ‫َوﺑِ َﺤ‬
That You may be the enemy of my
enemies and those who envy me
ill¡ kha¥amta a`d¡’y wa ¦uss¡d¢ ‫ﺴﺎدي‬
ّ ‫ﺖ أ ْﻋﺪاﺋﻲ َو ُﺣ‬
َ ‫ﺼ ْﻤ‬
َ ‫إﻻّ َﺧ‬
،‫ﺖ ﻟﻲ ِﻣ ْﻨـ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬
And that You may disappoint them and Wa khadhaltahum wantaqamta ly
revenge on them for me minhum, َ ‫َو َﺧ َﺬﻟْﺘَـ ُﻬ ْﻢ َواﻧْـﺘَـ َﻘ ْﻤ‬

And that You may grant me victory
over them and guard me against them
And expand my sustenance
And make me attain the ultimate of my
hopes;
Verily, You are All-hearing,

wa a¨-hartany `alayhim wa
kafaytany amrahum,
،‫َوأﻇْ َﻬ ْﺮﺗَﻨﻲ َﻋﻠَْﻴ ِﻬ ْﻢ َوَﻛ َﻔ ْﻴﺘَﻨﻲ ْأﻣ َﺮ ُﻫ ْﻢ‬
،‫ﺼ ْﺮﺗَﻨﻲ َﻋﻠَ ْﻴ ِﻬ ْﻢ َو َﺣ َﺮ ْﺳﺘَﻨﻲ ِﻣﻨْـ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬
wa na¥artany `alayhim wa
¦arastany minhum, َ َ‫َوﻧ‬
wa wassa`ta `alayya fy rizq¢ ‫ﻲ ﻓﻲ ِر ْزﻗﻲ‬ َ‫ﺖ َﻋﻠ‬ َ ‫ﺳ ْﻌ‬ ‫َوَو‬
wa ballaghtany gh¡yata amal¢ ‫ ْﻐﺘَﻨﻲ ﻏﺎﻳَ َﺔ َأﻣﻠﻲ‬‫َوﺑَـﻠ‬
innaka sam¢`un muj¢bun. .‫ﺠﻴﺐ‬
ٌ ‫ﻤﻴﻊ ُﻣ‬ َ ‫إﻧ‬
ٌ ‫ﻚ َﺳ‬
