MYOB Premier v18.2


MYOB Accounting v23.2
These Release Notes contain information on how to install the update, and
describe the new features in this release.

Install the update


You can install the update from the update CD or from a web download.

Before you begin Before you install the update, you need to back up your
company files and close all programs. You also need to uninstall your current
version of MYOB ODBC Direct. You can do this using the Add or Remove
Programs Control Panel. To open this Control Panel, go to the Windows
Start menu, choose Control Panel and then choose Add or Remove
Programs.

To install the update from CD


1 Insert the update CD into the drive.
2 Open the update CD contents in Windows Explorer and double-click the
MYOB Accounting v23.msi or MYOB Premier v18.msi program installer.
An installation window appears.
3 Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

To install the update from a web download


1 Download the MYOB Accounting v23 TV Web.exe or MYOB Premier v18
TV Web.exe program installer to your desktop.
2 Double-click the program installer. An installation window appears.
3 Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

In this release we’ve included new and updates of existing features:

New Features
 abss Web Services: abss Web Services is now made available for MYOB
Premier and MYOB Accounting.

Click on this icon in Command Centre and get linked to


http://www.myob.com.my/products/web-services
The landing page contains detailed information about abss web services.

 abss Web Store: There is a new tab - abss Web Store added to item details
screen which contains additional item descriptions that can be exported
via ODBC to connect to abss Web Store.

Go to ‘Items List > Item Details tab and select ‘abss Web Store’ button.

These new fields are to capture additional information pertaining to that Item,
which subsequently can be export via ODBC and ready to use by the online abss
Web Store.

Existing Updates

 Replace QuickTime graphic library with Microsoft GDI+: Apple will


no longer be providing security updates for QuickTime for Windows,
leaving this software vulnerable to exploitation. Due to this reason, MYOB
application had replaced the QuickTime library with MS GDI+ library.
Notes: For existing MYOB user, you can go to Control Panel, select “Programs and
Features”, look for “QuickTime” software and uninstall it if you do not have other
software that used it.

 Additional warning message to Bad Debt Relief Claim for


Sales/Purchases and editing Invoice/Bill/Receive Payments/Pay Bills
transaction screens: It is against Royal Malaysia Custom Department
(RMCD) rules to make amendment onto invoices or bills which submitted
for Bad Debt Relief (BDR) Claimed, to prevent user from doing this, MYOB
application had imposed the below warning messages:

 Bad Debt Relief Recover window for Sales/Purchases: The "Paid After
Claimed" and "GST to Recover" amounts in Bad Debt Relief Recover window
has been updated in cases where user edited invoice/bill/Receive
Payment/Pay Bill which involved BDR Claimed.

 Lampiran 2 report update: This report has been updated to reflect the
cash sale from Receive Money which incurred GST tax amount.

 Termination code when deleting Payment involved multiple


invoices/bills which already been claimed: The termination message
prompted during deleting received payment/pay bills involved multiple
invoices/bills claimed for BDR has been replaced with proper error
message.

 Tax [Summary/Detail-Accrual] report: These reports has been updated


to reflect the correct Sale/Purchase value for ES43 GST tax type of
transaction when there is exchange gain/loss calculated.

Getting ready to call


1 Note down what you did and what happened when the problem occurred.
Record the wording of any message that appeared. Make copies of any
company files involved and try to reproduce the problem.
2 Gather the following information about your computer:
 the computer type, model and processor
 the version of the operating system.
3 Gather the following information about your MYOB software:
 the version number.
To find the version number, start your MYOB software, go to the Help menu and
choose About MYOB software.
 the serial number.
To find the serial number, start your MYOB software, go to the Setup
command centre and click Company Information. The serial number appears in
the Company Information window.

4 Ensure that your MYOB software is running, and that you are ready to follow
any instructions and advice from the support representative.
