CONTRACT AGREEMENT _GASSIM CEMENT NEW CEMENT MILL BURAYDAH J KSA ‘APPENDIX 02c-TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION - DESIGN CRITERIA & TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 10. BUILDING WORKS 10.1 CONCRETE FLOORS AND PAVED AREAS 10.1.1 Sub-grade Preparation Backfilling and compaction over and around the foundation and structures and the sub-grade preparation (excavation, filling and compaction} of al surfaces shall be carried out as specified in § 3.3 hereinabove. Sub-grade for concrete ground floor slabs inside production buildings and for external paved areas shall be prepared so as to develop an in-situ C.B.R. test value of more than 10 %. 10.1.2 Sub-base The sub-base for concrete floors inside production buildings shall be 20 cm thick, made of, hardcore according to the Specifications of § 3.3. After compaction the hardcore shall have a ‘minimum in-situ C.B.R. test value of more than 45 %. 10.1.3 Concrete Slabs and Pavement Concrete for floor slabs and paved areas shall be Concrete Type 2, (or HS cement as per required) and aggregates grading from 32 mm down. Thickness of the concrete slab shall not be less than 200m. Concrete shall be cast in bays not exceeding 5 x 5m and shall be well compacted with vibrators, Unless by approved design, welded wire mesh, weighing no less than 3 kg/m2 may be laid 5 cm below the surface. Doweled expansion joints shall be formed at every third jointin each direction, and shall be 2 em thick and filled with an approved bituminized joint material The intermediate joints are to be unpainted and formed as tied warping joints with cracks inducers at the joint. Sealing groves are to be formed at the top of all joints neatly pointed with approved tropical mastic. The grove shall be 2.5 cm wide by 3 cm deep for expansion joints and 1 cm wide by 2 cm deep for warping joints. The finish for internal floors shall be as indicated on the drawings. The concrete surface of the external paved areas shall be dressed with an approved hardener and floated to a ridged finish by machine (as defined above In § 6). 10.2 Brock works 10.2.1 Laying, Jointing and Pointing Blocks shall be soaked in water before use. The tops of walls where work has been left off shall be thoroughly wetted before work is recommenced. wer
