The global Covid-19 pandemic has ushered


telemedical tools into the spotlight.

A digital revolution is taking place in the medical


industry. In reality telemedicine is already
foundational to quality modern medical care.

With growing concerns about healthcare


accessibility, socially distant care and medical
transparency, understanding how the medical
industry can meet these evolving needs is vital.

Telehealth technologies provide a promising


answer. They improve the way patients navigate
the industry and access care while giving
medical professionals another tool in their quality
care arsenal.

The interconnected digital technologies used in the public-health response to


COVID-19.

Digital technologies are being harnessed to support the public-health response


to COVID-19 worldwide, including population surveillance, case identification,
contact tracing and evaluation of interventions based on mobility data and
communication with the public. These rapid responses leverage billions of cell
phones, large online datasets, connected devices, relatively low-cost
computing resources & advances in machine learning & natural language
processing.

The digital revolution has transformed many aspects of life. As of 2019, 67% of
the global population had subscribed to mobile devices, of which 65% were
smartphones. In 2019, 204 billion apps were downloaded, and as of January
2020, 3.8 billion people actively used social media.

The report tries to review how digital technologies are being harnessed for the
public-health response to COVID-19 worldwide. Also look at the breadth of
innovations and their respective limitations. This systems-level approach is
needed to inform how digital strategies can be incorporated into COVID-19-
control strategies, & to help prepare for future epidemics.
