COVID-19 PANDEMİSİNİN DÜĞÜN RİTÜELLERİNE VE DÜĞÜN

MÜZİSYENLERİNE ETKİLERİ

ÖZET

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Covid-19 olarak adlandırılan ve tüm dünya genelinde bir pandemi
olarak kabul edilen salgın ve bu salgınla ilgili alınan tedbirlerin düğün ritüellerine ve düğün
müzisyenlerine etkilerinin ortaya çıkarılmasıdır. Pandemi gibi oldukça kısa sürede etkili olan
ve yine tedbirlerin de ivedilikle alındığı ve hayatın olağan akışının oldukça radikal bir şekilde
ve kısa sürede değiştiği sosyal değişimler, büyük savaşlarda bile karşılaşılması mümkün
olmayan bir tablo ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bütünüyle bir sosyal etkinlik olan düğünlerin, sosyalleşme
ile ilgili ortaya çıkan kısıtlamadan dolayı oldukça etkilendiği görülmektedir. Bu çalışma
kapsamında, değişik sosyolojik çevrelere hitap eden düğünlerde çalışan müzik gruplarının
temsilcileri ile kurgulanmış görüşmeler yapılmış, pandeminin gerek düğün ritüeline ve gerekse
bu ritüele eşlik eden müzik ve müzisyenlere etkisi ile ilgili veriler toplanmıştır. Sosyal
etkinliklerin kısıtlanması ve şekil değiştirmesine yönelik koşullara, söz konusu etkinliklerin
katılımcılarının karşı koydukları, risk ne kadar yüksek olursa olsun kendi müziklerini ve bu
müziklere eşlik eden ritüellerini sürdürmek konusunda oldukça kararlı oldukları belirtilmiştir.
Bu durum, düğün müzisyenlerinin önemli bir kısmının hem düğün ritüellerinin uygulayıcısı ve
hem de bir kolluk kuvveti gibi kısıtlamaların uygulanmasından sorumlu olmasını beraberinde
getirmiştir. Bu grubun dışında kalan müzisyenler ise düğünlerin, düğün sahibi ve müzisyenlerin
etkileşiminin de azalmasına bağlı olarak bir konser havasında geçtiğini belirtmişlerdir. Düğün
ritüellerinin aynı zamanda yöneticisi durumunda olan düğün müzisyenlerinin, pandemi gibi
olağanüstü koşullarda gerçekleştirilen bu etkinliklerde rollerinin değiştiği, tümüyle birlikte
eğlenmek üzerine kurulu bu organizasyonlardaki katalizör rolüne ilave olarak, aynı zamanda
toplumsal kuralların uygulayıcısı ve denetleyicisi olmak gibi zor bir görevi de üstlenmek
zorunda kaldıkları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

 EFFECTS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON WEDDING RITUALS AND
WEDDING MUSICIANS

The purpose of this research is to reveal the effects of the epidemic, which is called Covid-19
and accepted as a pandemic worldwide, and the effects of the measures taken regarding this
epidemic on wedding rituals and wedding musicians. Social changes, such as the pandemic,
which took effect in a very short time and where measures were taken immediately and the
ordinary course of life changed in a very radical way and in a short time, created a picture that
could not be encountered even in great wars. It is seen that weddings, which are a purely social
event, are greatly affected by the constraint on socialization. Within the scope of this study,
interviews were held with the representatives of music groups working in weddings that appeal
to different sociological circles, and data on the effect of the pandemic on both the wedding
ritual and the music and musicians accompanying this ritual were collected. It has been stated
that the conditions for the restriction and transformation of social activities, the participants of
these activities, are determined to continue their own music and the rituals that accompany these
music, no matter how high the risk is. This situation has brought with it that a significant portion
of wedding musicians are responsible for both the practitioner of wedding rituals and the
enforcement of restrictions such as a law enforcement officer. Musicians outside this group, on
the other hand, stated that the weddings were like a concert due to the decrease in the interaction
between the wedding owner and the musicians. It has been concluded that the wedding
musicians, who are also the managers of the wedding rituals, have changed their roles in these
events held under extraordinary conditions such as the pandemic, and in addition to the catalyst
role in these organizations based on having fun together, they also have to undertake the
difficult task of being the enforcer and supervisor of social rules.
