This document provides 5 mini project ideas for interfacing sensors with Arduino boards and simulating them using Tinkercad. The projects involve creating a burglar alarm using a PIR motion sensor, a gas leakage detector using a gas sensor, an automatic fan controller using a temperature sensor, an obstacle detector that calculates distance and sounds an alarm, and an automatic light that switches on based on ambient light level readings from a photo resistor. Students are instructed to complete 2 of the 5 projects and submit a report by September 17th, 2022.

interfacing different sensors to Arduino and simulating using Tinkercad
1. Create a burglar alarm – detect
motion of a person (using a PIR sensor). If there is motion, ring the buzzer. 2. Create a gas leakage detector – if detected a gas leakage then glow red led and ring the alarm. 3. Automatic switching of the fan based on room temperature – read the temperature. If the temperature is >30C then switch on the fan (motor). 4. Create an obstacle detector and warning system – detect an obstacle, calculate the distance and display it on an LCD. If obstacle detected then ring the alarm. 5. Automatic switching on the lightbulb – read the ambient light intensity (using a photo resistor). If intensity is low then switch on the bulb.
