Simple Past Verbs with -y, double consonants - worksheet

Regular verbs make their past tense by adding -d, -ed, or (if the verb ends in a
consonant + y), changing the y to i and adding -ed

hurry - hurried, cry - cried

Vowel and consonant at the end of a verb: Double consonant and add -ed.

stop - stopped, plan - planned

Malcolm McLean

Malcolm Purcell McLean (November 14, 1913 - May 25, 2001) was an American

entrepreneur1 who developed the modern intermodal shipping container, revolutionizing

international transportation and trade in the second half of the 20th century. Subsequent

containerization led to a significant reduction in the cost of transporting goods by eliminating

the handling of individual parts, improving reliability, making theft more difficult and

reducing transport times.

Honors and achievements

- Created the first industrialized container with his invention allowed the globalization and
