MECHANICS AND GUIDELINES INTER-SCHOOL CAMPUS DUET Singing Competition

World Teachers Day Celebration
1. This competition is open to all high schools and colleges around Makati, Mandaluyong, Taguig, Pateros, and Pasig areas. 2. Each school is only allowed to have one entry (pair) in this competition. 3. Each pair should be one teacher and one student (male or female). The participants should be currently employed and enrolled respectively in the school they represent. 4. The contestants shall render one Englsih or Filipino song of their choice, which must not contain any subliminal, sexually suggestive or vulgar lyrics. Noncompliance will result in AUTOMATIC disqualification. 5. Accompanying music should be a minus-one. Singing acapella or with live accompaniment will not be allowed. The accompaniment should be with the organizers at least a day before the competition or earlier and should have been properly labelled indicating the following: a. Name of School b. Title of the Song c. Track Number
Important: Please submit your music in CD audio file plus a back up copy on USB

6. The time of the performance should not exceed 5 minutes. One point (1) will be deducted from the total score for every minute or fraction thereof in excess of the time allotted. 7. Costumes must be decent and appropriate for the competition. 8. It is the contestants responsibility to signify their presence one hour before the competition.

9. Participating pairs should submit the following not later than 5 PM of September 10, 2010: a. Duly Accomplished Registration Form b. Recommendation letter from the Principal/Dean c. Photocopy of their company and school ID 10. There shall be an orientation assembly at 1:00 PM on September 11, 2010 at the Audio Visual Room of Global City Innovative College; 3F Bonifacio Technology Center, 31st Street Corner 2nd Ave. Crescent Park West, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. This assembly is scheduled to discuss 11. The criteria for judging are as follows: MUSICAL RENDITION Voice Quality 30% Consistency & Vibrancy 10% Dynamics 10% SHOWMANSHIP Stage Presence 20% Costume 10% BLENDING AND COORDINATION AUDIENCE IMPACT TOTAL 10% 10% 100% 30% 50%

12. An elimination round shall be scheduled depending on the number of participants who will signify their intention to join. The schedule for the elimination round shall be announced during the general Assembly on Sept. 11th, 2010. 14. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
