Title: The Impact of Community-based Interventions on Reducing Chronic Diseases in Low-
Income communities.
Analysis of the Problem

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) also known as chronic diseases kill 41 million people each
year, equivalent to 74% of all deaths globally. Each year, 17 million people die from a NCD
before age 70; 86% of these premature deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. Of all
NCD deaths, 77% are in low- and middle-income countries. Cardiovascular diseases account for
most NCD deaths, or 17.9 million people annually, followed by cancers (9.3 million), chronic
respiratory diseases (4.1 million), and diabetes (2.0 million including kidney disease deaths
caused by diabetes) (Who, 2022).
Many chronic diseases are caused by list of risk behaviors: Tobacco use and exposure to
secondhand smoke, Poor poor nutrition, including diets low in fruits and vegetables and high in
sodium, saturated fats, physical inactivity and excessive alcohol use (Cdc, 2022).
Several Wways can be prevented or reduceed for chronic diseases include such as active living,
regular exercise, eating healthy foods and avoiding tobacco and alcohol use. Creating the
awareness about theseAnd these ways can be achieved through community-based interventions.
Therefore this study will explore the impact of community-based interventions on reducing
chronic diseases in low-income communities.
This study will make a significant contribution to the field of public health, particularly in non-
communicable diseases. The study will provide valuable insights into the impact of community-
based interventions on reducing chronic diseases in low-income communities, and will
contribute to the development of evidence-based policy and practice in this area. The study will
also contribute to our understanding of the challenges and experiences of community health
workers and other healthcare providers in implementing community-based interventions in low-
income communities. The results of this study will inform future researchers and policy
initiatives aimed at improving health and reducing the burden of chronic diseases in low-income
communities.
Research Method:
In order to explore the impact of community-based interventions on reducing chronic diseases in
low-income community in Somalia, this study will use a mixed-methods approach. This
approach will involve collecting both quantitative and qualitative data through the use of in-
depth interviews, observations, surveys, and experiments. The in-depth interviews will be
conducted with community health workers and other healthcare providers to gain a deeper
understanding of the experiences and challenges they face in implementing community-based
interventions. The surveys will be used to gather quantitative data on the impact of these
interventions on reducing chronic diseases, and the experiments will be used to test the
effectiveness of different interventions.

conclusion.
Introduction: An overview of the problem of chronic diseases in Somalia, and the need for
community-based interventions to address this problem.
Statement of the Problem: A clear statement of the research question and objective of the
study.

for reducing chronic diseases in low-income communities, and a discussion of the gap in the
literature that this study aims to address.

Preliminary Answer: By increasing awareness of healthy lifestyles and risk factors for chronic
diseases, community-based interventions such as health education programs, community
mobilization, may empower individuals to make changes in their behavior and reduce their risk
for chronic diseases. In addition, the provision of health services in accessible locations may
improve access to care for individuals with chronic diseases, helping to manage and treat their
conditions more effectively.
