PROGRAM OUTCOMES IN ALL COURSES

PROGRAM OUTCOMES - ABEL


The Graduate of the AB in English Language program must acquire the following minimum
set of learning outcomes:

a. Articulate a comprehensive and contextualized view of the English Language system


and development;
b. Communicate in English (both oral and written) fluently, accurately, and creatively in
a diverse social, cultural, academic and professional settings;
c. Facilitate English language learning and use in diverse social, cultural, academic and
professional settings;
d. Teach English communication skills using knowledge of best practices;
e. Enhance literacy development and critical/creative thinking among students through
the use of different types of texts; and
f. Engage in English language research relevant to the school, workplace and
community settings.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES - BACOMM

The Graduate of the BA in Communication program must acquire the following


minimum set of learning outcomes:

 Define and access information needs.


 Assess and organize information and knowledge.
 Produce, share and utilize information and knowledge .
 Communicate in different formats and platforms.
 Prepare communication / media plan.
 Conduct communication and media research and evaluation.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES – POLITICAL SCIENCE

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

a. compare, contrast and classify the major concepts in the discipline;


b. recognize and define the distinctiveness of the discipline, its subfields, theories and
methods;
c. design and execute research inquiries using appropriate quantitative and qualitative
methods guided by theories or conceptual frameworks;
d. demonstrate written, visual and oral presentation skills to produce and present
analytical reports;
e. critique, judge and respond to current issues and problems based on a substantive
understanding of the historical and contemporary developments in the national and
global contexts; and
f. develop a predisposition towards ethical political involvement and practice in various
forms and on different levels of engagement.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES – BS BIOLOGY

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

1. have an in-depth understanding of the basic principles governing biological science;


2. be able to extend knowledge and understanding to a critical assessment of current
views and theories in selected areas of the biological sciences;
3. be able to think critically out basic mathematical and statistical computation;
4. have adequate technical writing skills and effective oral communication skills;
5. develop critical, analytical and problem solving skills;
6. develop the skills required for both autonomous practices and team work;
7. be able to think critically, solve problems and appreciate the limitations and
implications of science in everyday life;
8. develop an objective viewpoint for discerning information and analyzing biases of

PROGRAM OUTCOMES – BS COMPUTER

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

a. apply knowledge of computing, mathematics, science, and domain knowledge


appropriate for the computing specialization to the abstraction and conceptualization of
computing models from defined problems and requirements;
b. identify, analyze, formulate, research literature, and solve complex computing problems
and requirements reaching substantiated conclusions using fundamental principles of
mathematics, computing sciences, and relevant domain disciplines;
c. apply mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles and computer science theory in
the modeling and design of computer-based systems in a way that demonstrates
comprehension of the trade-offs involved in design choices;
d. understand information security issues in relation to the design, development, and use of
information systems;
e. design and evaluate solutions for complex computing problems, and design and evaluate
systems, components, or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate
consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental
considerations;
f. create, select, adapt and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern computing
tools to complex computing activities, with an understanding of the limitations to
accomplish a common goal;
g. function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in

PROGRAM OUTCOMES – BS PSYCHOLOGY

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

a. Engage in lifelong learning and understanding of the need to keep abreast of the
developments in the specific field of practice;
b. Effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino;
c. Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural
teams;
d. Practice professional, social and ethical responsibility;
e. Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage”;
f. Demonstrate the capability to discuss and analyze the major theories and concepts
in Psychology;
g. Demonstrate and apply the methods of psychological inquiry in building
knowledge on local culture and context;
h. Demonstrate and apply psychological theories and methods in personal and
professional setting;
i. Demonstrate capability for self -reflection and independent learning in graduate
education or in professional context;

PROGRAM OUTCOMES – BS CRIMINOLOGY

By the time of graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

a. Conduct criminological research on crimes, crime causation, victims, and offenders to


include deviant behavior;
b. Internalize the concepts of human rights and victim welfare
c. Demonstrate competence and broad understanding in law enforcement administration,
public safety and criminal justice;
d. Utilize criminalistics or forensic science in the investigation and detection of crime;
e. Apply the principles and jurisprudence of criminal law, evidence and criminal
procedure;
f. Ensure offenders’ welfare and development for their re-integration to the community.
g. Pass the criminology licensure examination

PROGRAM OUTCOMES BS ARCHITECTURE

The minimum standards for the BS Architecture program are expressed in the following
minimum set of learning outcomes:

Common to the discipline:


a) Creation of architectural solutions by applying knowledge in history , theory ,
planning , building technology and utilities , structural concepts and professional
practice.(DES, BT,UT,PP,ES/AS,HOA/TOA, PN)
b) Use of concepts and principles from specialized fields and allied disciplines into
various architectural problems.(LA , IA,HC,PLN,EMP,BU 1-2-3.ES/AS,TOA)
c) Preparation of contract documents, technical reports and other legal documents used
in architectural practice adhering to applicable laws ,standards and regulations.
(DES,PP 1-2-3 ,BT 3, BU 1-2-3-4-5 , HSNG , PLN ,ENG3)
d) Interpretation and application of relevant laws ,codes, charters and standards of
architecture and the built environment . (DES,BT1,HSNG,BU 1-2-3,PLN)
e) Application of research methods to address architectural problems .(RMA , ENG 3)
f) Use of various information and communication technology (ICT) media for
architectural solutions, presentation and techniques in design and construction .( VT

PROGRAM OUTCOMES BS CIVIL ENGINEERING

After graduation, students of the program shall have developed:

a. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, physical sciences, engineering sciences to


the practice of civil engineering.
b. An ability to design, and conduct experiment, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
c. An ability to design, build, improve, and install systems or processes which meet desired
needs within realistic constraints.
d. An ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
e. An ability to recognize, formulate, and solve civil engineering problems.
f. An understanding of the effects and impact of civil engineering projects on nature and
society, and of the civil engineers’ social and ethical responsibilities.
g. Specialized engineering knowledge in each applicable field, and the ability to apply such
knowledge to provide solutions to actual problems.
h. An ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing using the English language.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES – BS COMPUTER ENGINEERING

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:
a) apply knowledge of mathematics and science to solve engineering problems;
b) design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data;
c) design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic
constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and
safety, manufacturability, and sustainability, in accordance with standards;

h) broaden education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a

After graduation, students of the program shall have developed the ability to:

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:
a. Apply knowledge of mathematics, physical sciences, and engineering sciences
to the practice of geodetic engineering;
b. Design, and conduct experiments to test hypotheses and verify assumptions, as
well as to organize, analyze and interpret data; draw valid conclusions, and
develop mathematical models for processes;

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

1. Provide general administrative and clerical support to high-level executives guided by the
Code of Ethics for Office Professionals
2. Coordinate office management activities.
3. Apply written, oral and interpersonal skills as they apply to business settings, and apply
the values of professional responsibility as related to business.
4. Design, implement and maintain efficient procedures for accomplishing various office-
related tasks.
5. Organize files, information, and office supplies effectively and accurately.

6. Exhibit acceptable human relations skills as they relate to people with diverse
environment.
7. Make intelligent decisions within the scope of assigned authority.

development within the field.

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

planning; lodging and accommodation suggestions and possible expenses.
4. Handles inquiries and provides travel advice in making reservations for international
and domestic flights, hotel accommodation, package tours, and other transportation
arrangement.
5. Develop and promote tourism activities to attract visitors.
6. Perform sales calls and meetings for travel sales presentations.
7. Plan, organize, coordinate, develop, and evaluate the issues related to tourism.
8. Execute secretarial tasks behind the counter such as encoding client’s inquiries,

After graduation, the students of the program shall have the ability to:

PROGRAM OUTCOMES – BS MARITIME ENGINEERING AND PROGRAM


OUTCOMES BS MARINE TRNSPORATION

A graduate of BSMarE shall be able to demonstrate the ability to perform the


competence at the operational level under Table A-III/1 and some elements of Table A-
III/2 of the STCW Code.

Graduates of BSMarE should be able to:


a.) Apply knowledge in mathematics, science and technology in solving problems
related to the profession and the workplace;
b.) Evaluate the impact and implications of various contemporary issues in the global
and social context of the profession;
c.) Engage in lifelong learning and keep abreast with developments in the field of
specialization and/or profession;
d.) Use appropriate techniques, skills and modern tools in the practice of the profession
in order to remain globally competitive; and
e.) Conduct research using appropriate research methodologies.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES - BEED

The BEEd minimum standards are presented in the following minimum set of learning
outcomes

A. Common to all programs in all types of schools.

The graduates of the Bachelor of Elementary Education have the ability to:
1. Articulate and discuss the latest developments in the specific field of practice.
2. Effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino
languages.
3. Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi- cultural terms.
4. Act in recognition of professional, social and ethical responsibility.
5. Preserve and promote the Filipino historical and cultural heritage.
