Human behavior is the potential and expressed capacity (mentally, physically, and socially)
of human individuals or groups to respond to internal and external stimuli throughout their life.
Behavior is driven by genetic and environmental factors that affect an individual. Behavior is
also driven, in part, by thoughts and feelings, which provide insight into individual psyche,
revealing such things as attitudes and values. Human behavior is shaped by psychological traits,
as personality types vary from person to person, producing different actions and behavior.
Organizational management is inevitably and necessarily a management of people. The task of
managing people requires making sense of the way they think, act and feel not only in the
individual level but in the overall organizational structure. This is to say that understanding
human behavior in the organization is critical to the achievement of its goals and its long-term
success. There is much to gain from studying organizational behavior. Studying organizational
behavior can help me become an effective future manager. Having the knowledge on the
Organizational Behavior will give us a guide to an effective communication with subordinates
and all other stakeholders in the organization. Moreover, understanding behavior can lead to an
informed and wise decision-making.
Understanding human behavior in organizations is an on-going process. While working in an
organization, it is very important to understand the behavior of others as well as make others
understand the organization. In order to maintain a healthy working environment, it is necessary
to adapt to the environment and understand the goals need to achieve. It can provide insight into
how an individual's personality affects their productivity or quality of work and improve
leadership traits and skills. Also, understanding the relationship between power and authority can
help organizational leaders or HR personnel create a productive, cohesive culture. Measuring
organizational behavior can help us with preventive conflict resolution by identifying where and
why employees are having issues with fellow teammates and management. Behavioral dynamics
can help us understand the cause of a problem, predict its course, and head off potential
consequences before the issue escalates. The study and application of organizational behavior is
to make sure that a happy and a productive workforce that will results in the success of the
organization. A deep understanding of organizational behavior and why it’s important can help
the leaders in the organization increase the effectiveness of their workforce.
Having to know the brief history of the organizational behavior and how it develops from time to
time will surely give us the idea on how to maintain the behavior in the organization.
Organizational behavior expresses the values of an organization to its employees and other
entities irrespective of governmental regulatory laws. Ethics are the principles and values used
by an individual to govern their actions and decisions. This means that it is important for us to
manage our organization through its ethical code. Every organization has an ethical code that
guides its decision making and activities to have effective productivity and maintain its
reputation for the betterment of an organization. Organizational behavior ensures that staff
completes work with honesty and integrity and meets the aim of an organization by adhering the
organization rules and policies that will affects its reputation and integrity. That is why we need
to adhere and follow the organization ethical code.
Maintaining the ethical code within the organization will help the organization leaders control
the behavior of their employees. These ethics may help organizations maintain specific
standards of accountability, responsibility, professionalism and more as they navigate challenges
and different day-to-day circumstances. By maintaining these guidelines in their work,
organizations often experience a variety of significant benefits that can improve the lives of
employees, customers, leaders and the general public. The code of ethic will help the
organization with their employee’s accountability, responsibility, equality, transparency, trust,
loyalty, fairness, cooperation, dedication, discipline, and professionalism in the organization.
It may be hard to maintain the peace in the organization with the mix behavior of all employees
but with professionalism, a good leadership, and unity, the organization can handle future
conflict that it may face. Organization with good governance in their employees will surely
achieve its goals and achieve greater success in the future.
