About the Author

Introduction
Fervently Jesus has sought you. Daily He beckons you to the secret place. With
all His heart, He desires to draw nearer to you. You have meant the world to
Him, and He has proven it in giving His life for you.
Now let Him mean much to you! Take the time to be refreshed by His Spirit over
the next thirty days. Sit quietly in His presence and reflect on His voice. Become
sensitive to it and let Him comfort you with His whispers.
Each devotion was written as if Jesus’ is speaking to you. Each of these
messages He has spoken to me in my own walk with Him, to draw me nearer to
Him, and by them He has changed my life. If you take His messages to heart,
they will do the same for you.

Day One
Render to Me What I Deserve
How can you continue to walk in Me unless you properly seek Me? Render your
time to Me. You must be rejuvenated in My Spirit to go forward in victory. Sit in
My presence and let My love illuminate you. Be dedicated to Me and seek Me in
My word.
Open your Bible; you will find Me waiting for you there in the pages. I will
speak to you through them, so be careful to listen to Me. Do not only read My
book, but also study it faithfully. Learn from it as I teach you. Keep the lessons
locked in your heart and practice them as I show you how to apply them. But
how can I show you unless you sensitize yourself to My Holy Spirit’s voice?
Seek to practice My gospel, and as you step out, I will meet you in the place of
faith. As you try to apply my word, I will augment your work and make it light
for you. Only render to Me what I deserve from you now: your time.

Scripture for Thought
“Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; worship the LORD in the
beauty of holiness.” Psalm 29:2

Day Two
Have My Mind
Start your day with Me. Seek My face and pursue My presence. Let your
thoughts constantly reflect on Me. Do not pursue Me now only, but be diligent to
have My mind continually.
You can only have My mind through continuing in My Spirit. Seek Me diligently
today, but first be illuminated by My word. Read your Bible and be faithful to
apply the things I teach you.

Scripture for Thought
“But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no
one. For ‘who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?’ But
we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:15–16

Day Three
Be Taught by Me
Come to Me with the teachable spirit. Open your mind to My lessons. Daily I am
teaching you new things. With every season of life, there is a new lesson. Seek to
grow in our relationship by paying attention to Me as I lead you. Consider your
life now. What am I teaching you? Are you attuned to each of My lessons? Do
not stop seeking My wisdom until you understand the purpose behind this
current season of your life.
A plant that grows bears much fruit. But a plant that refuses to grow is either
pruned or uprooted by the gardener. So be fervent in your growth, lest I prune
you. I have no use for a plant that rejects My pruning and refuses to bear fruit. I
am most pleased by those who submit to My will and follow My guiding hand.

Scripture for Thought
“It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore
everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” John 6:45
“These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but
which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” 1
Corinthians 2:13

Day Four
Grow
Hold fast to Me and prepare yourself while redeeming the time. Assuredly, you
will have to give an account of your stewardship. I will look into the secret
places of your heart and examine every hidden corner. I will judge your every
deed, whether good or bad. I will be looking into the hidden places and will
determine what manner of steward you were with your time.
Have you been honoring Me with your time or seeking the things of this life?
Remember that your life does not consist of the things of this world. You, My
Beloved, are on a pilgrimage. Set your heart on pilgrimage and remember to
keep the mindset of a sojourner. Redeem the time by seeking and honoring Me.
Grow in your relationship with Me. Let nothing steal away the precious time that
could be used in devotion, meditation, or study of the Scriptures.
Remember that your time belongs to Me. And when you gave your life to Me,
you gave it in its entirety. Therefore, I must be your Lord in everything! Do not
only seek Me 20 minutes a day, in your devotion, but pursue Me throughout the
day as well. Consider Me and listen to My Holy Spirit. Honor Me by being
attentive to My voice today and obeying it.
When you became My child, you did not devote your life to Me; you dedicated it
to Me, and now it is Mine. I deserve your all and all, and I require it of you.
Desire to honor Me with the things you choose to do today. Open your heart up
to Me and listen carefully for My voice. I challenge you to grow in our
relationship. Be constantly attentive to My Spirit today and every day.

Scripture for Thought
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it
abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” John 15:4
“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the
time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what
the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation;
but be filled with the Spirit…” Ephesians 5:15–18

Day Five
Victorious Faith
Fear is a prison, and the bars of doubt are thick and wide. Escape is difficult
unless you increase your faith in Me. Your faith is the key, and by it alone will
the door unlock.
Be wholly dedicated to Me in this, for there can be no grey area. I cannot accept
a lukewarm attitude. You are either on fire for Me or cold toward Me. Therefore,
I would exhort you to kindle the flame.
Yes, My child, create an all-consuming inferno of faith. Let My presence melt
away your doubts. Trust increases the borders of your abilities and also
establishes nearness to Me. Draw near to Me, and I will bolster your faith. Open
your eyes to see My working power, for I shall not leave you in want.

Scripture for Thought
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that
has overcome the world—our faith.” 1 John 5:4
“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret—it only causes harm.” Psalm
37:8
“But He said to them, ‘Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no
faith?’” Mark 4:40

Day Six
Practice My Peace
Practice the peace My presence brings, for I must train you in this. My peace is
evident in times of joy and essential for comfort in adversity. To portray a
peaceful heart in the midst of distress is an expression of profound faith.
But such tremendous faith only comes to those with deep comprehension. You
must understand not only that am I in control but also that, through My control, I
permit your circumstances in order to establish greater peace in your life.
Through your circumstances, I will assemble your future and build the edifice of
your faith.
Let My peace rule in your heart through your belief in My faithfulness. I shall
control your destiny, and by My love I shall save you. Not only shall I save you
from your present trials, but I will also preserve you for My perfect kingdom.
Yes, My child, you will experience the abundance of My peace in that day.
Therefore, in any trial you suffer, I challenge you to practice perfect peace
through faith. Believe that I will save you and that I am in control. Worship Me,
and I will be a source of comfort to you. Praise through faith overcomes the
weariness that a doubtful heart brings. It illuminates the darkness of the storm
and reestablishes faith in a fretful heart.
But know that, as you keep a heart of peace through difficulties, many
unbelievers will approach you regarding this. Be prepared to give an answer for
your hope. By this I am creating an opportunity for others to be saved through
your trials. Yes, Beloved, I call you to carry your cross even as I have carried
Mine. But even as My cross saved you, so your cross shall draw them to Me. By
your suffering they will be convicted and gently drawn to their knees because
they see the power of My hope alive and at work in you.

Scripture for Thought
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense
to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness
and fear…” 1 Peter 3:15
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in
one body; and be thankful.” Colossians 3:15

Day Seven
Reflect on My Works
Acknowledge Me in everything. What do you have that I have not given you?
Express your gratitude to Me. Do you not love Me? Then acknowledge all the
ways in which I have loved you. A heart of gratitude increases faith. By
meditating on the ways I have been kind to you and delivered you, you will
reinforce your faith in times of adversity.
Gratitude is also an acknowledgment of the truth. It shows due appreciation to I
who have so lovingly blessed you. The color of My kindness is vibrantly alive
on the canvas of your life. But in order for you to appreciate the artistic strokes
of My love, first you must learn to appreciate the artisanship of My kindness.
Open your eyes to perceive. Slow down the pace of your life and pay attention to
the scenery I’ve created. Pray for wisdom, that you may see all the things I do
for you. When you understand what great lengths I go through to love you, you
will stand in awe. I deserve your gratitude in this; and, besides, gratitude gives
you the right heart.
Your thankfulness will establish the truth of who really takes care of you.
Though you strive to provide, it is My hand that grants you the providence.
When you remember that your entire substance is dependent upon My gift, then
you will learn to seek Me more fervently for the things that you need.
By this, you will draw near to Me and live according to truth. By truth, you then
shall submit to humility, knowing that I’m the one who preserves you, and your
faith will climb to exponential heights.
Reflect on Me today, and on the things I’ve done for you. Let this increase your
faith and our relationship. Thank Me with a gracious heart. Then pray in faith for
any outstanding needs to be filled. In My due and proper time, I will fill them as
I always have because I love you.

Scripture for Thought
“Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds
among the peoples!” Psalm 105:1
“And in that day you will say: ‘Praise the LORD, call upon His name; declare
His deeds among the peoples, make mention that His name is exalted. Sing to
the LORD, for He has done excellent things…” Isaiah 12:4–5

Day Eight
Obey My Voice
Be content with a simple mind. I do not call you to the foolishness of the
simpleminded but to the wisdom of a freethinker. There are many Christians
who would exhort you in how you should walk, how you should pray, and how
you should honor Me. Yet their interpretations do not please Me. I have
established the truth, and only My voice can interpret it.
Be subject to My Holy Spirit and be content with living according to His voice.
You will grow lost in your walk if you listen to the noise of others’ opinions. Be
a reflection of Me and not a reflection of the Christian social mirror. Do not
become what they want you to become, but become the person I am creating you
to be.
You can only do this by being submissive to My Spirit and subject to My
commanding voice. While My words may be as whispers, this is only so that you
will incline your ear. The quietness does not quell, but rather emphasizes, the
importance of My message. When I speak quietly, it’s because I want you to
listen intently, that you may take to heart the words I’m speaking to you.
Truly I’m intimate with you in this. For two lovers whisper to one another, and
even so I silently communicate the affections of My heart. Be affectionate in
return and listen to the things I have to say. I am pleased by an obedient servant.
Therefore, be subject to My word.
Listen for My voice today and be diligent to obey Me. I’m always talking to you.
The question is, are you always listening? Establish a listening ear and do not
seek to interpret My word. Be content with a simple mind, for My mind shall
guide you and establish you in the wisdom of My way.

Scripture for Thought
“For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your
behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.”
Romans 16:19
“Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then
you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.”
Exodus 19:5

Day Nine
Be Content with the Simple Life
I am training you to surrender. Be fully submissive to Me and My purpose for
you. I cannot use one who desires against My soul. Be content with the simple
life and let Me define its complexities.
When you rendered your life to Me, you surrendered the shape of your life. Now
allow Me, as your potter, to form its beauty. Do not create your own goals to
establish your own personal Eden. You are not of this world, and your heart
should not desire the false peace that comfortable living brings.
For I am the source of your peace, and I shall establish your life as eternal.
Wealth is good for nothing. It causes the heart to fret against Me. For when a
wealthy man loses all he has, he proves himself to be weak through His fear.
But establish your heart and the peace that faith brings. Learn to wait on Me and
to be surrendered fully to My Holy Spirit.

Scripture for Thought
“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you
have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’”
Hebrews 13:5
“And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.” 1 Timothy 6:8

Day Ten
Wait for Me, For I Will Lead
The voices of your trials would exhort you to doubt Me. But do not cave in to
their influence. I shall deliver you in My own time. Until then, I’m calling you to
be established in faith.
Faith comes by hearing My word; therefore, wait for Me. Your trials would beg
you to jump according to your own understanding. They would call you to leap
out and snatch the thing that you think would save you. But this is really the
devil tempting you through doubt.
Be established in faith and wait for Me. They who wait upon Me shall renew
their strength. Even so, I will renew you in My Holy Spirit.

Scripture for Thought
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Romans
8:14

Day Eleven
Have Faith My Child
Do not give into the power of doubt. In order to hear Me clearly, you must focus
on My presence. You cannot do this if you’re focusing on the difficulty of your
circumstances. When Peter looked at the waves and howling wind, His fear
made him fall in. If you focus on the strength of the storm, you also will cave in
to the power of fear.
It is a true saying that whatever you fear has power over you. But if you focus on
your reverence for Me, you shall see how I have power over your situation. This
is why I have called you to maintain a peaceful heart, that you may meditate on
Me with a clear and focused mind. It is difficult to focus through the noise of
trial, but it can be done, and I will strengthen you to do so.
I command you now to do what I am saying and ignore the fear—drowning it
out with faith. Focus hard on My Holy Spirit, and in My due time, He shall
guide you out of the Valley into which you have been led. Only have faith, My
child.

Scripture for Thought
“And Peter answered Him and said, ‘Lord, if it is You, command me to come to
You on the water.’ So He said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter had come down out of
the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind
was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, ‘Lord,
save me!’” Matthew 14:28–30

Day Twelve
Fear Not, For I Am Your Strength
Do not lose heart because of your weaknesses. Render them to Me, and I will
make them your strengths. Pray for My strength through faith and do not cease
to plead with Me until I have supplied it. For there is nothing that is too difficult
for Me to accomplish, and My strength is made perfect in weakness. Yes, My
Beloved, even in your sins, I can strengthen you in establishing us holy.
Only meditate on My Holy Spirit, and as My Spirit comes upon you, He will
empower you to overcome all things. This is why I wrote to you about Samson
—that you may see the strength My Spirit gives My children as He comes upon
them. But you will have strength to overcome not only the enemy’s darkness but
also the darkness that is within you.
This can only be accomplished through the illumination of My presence. The
blackness of evil is overcome by the light of My Holy Spirit. So meditate on My
Spirit and continually worship and pray. Have you ever noticed that you do not
sin when you worship Me? You cannot both worship Me and sin at the same
time, for I inhabit the praises of My people. But I most certainly cannot inhabit a
place of sin. Therefore, praise and sin do not occur in the same place together.
Learn to worship Me continually and pray without ceasing. Be filled with My
Holy Spirit, and nothing will be too difficult for you to accomplish.

Scripture for Thought
“…for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”
Philippians 2:13
“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is,
the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Hebrews 13:15

Day Thirteen
Read My Word
Be diligent to meet with Me in the early morning. In the stillness and quietness
of your house, I am there waiting for you. Before the noise of the day, seek to
establish your footsteps in My Spirit.
Sit quietly in My presence and read My word. There is no replacement for the
authority of My Scriptures. Meditate upon them and expect Me to speak to you
through them. Pray that I would speak and make the word come alive. Then,
when the pages jump out at you, I am speaking to you through them. Be diligent
to practice those things today and to memorize them, that you can lock them in
your heart for later application.
Study your Bible and read it every day. Be faithful to seek Me not only in the
morning but also through the rest of your day.

Scripture for Thought
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate
in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in
it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good
success.” Joshua 1:8
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…” 2 Timothy 3:16
“…knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private
interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God
spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20–21

Day Fourteen
My Comforts Shall Delight Your Soul
Have you not heard? I am clothed with Majesty, and I have girded Myself with
strength. My throne has been established since before I created time, and I reign
from everlasting to everlasting.
Though your life may be in a storm and your cries drowned out by a deluge of
suffering, still I hear you. Your prayers matter to Me, and I shall diligently save
you. My love for you gives Me mighty zeal, and I will not stop until I have
accomplished your salvation.
I am higher and mightier than the noise of many waters. Although the waves of
the sea may cover over you, and though the waters of the ocean cover your head,
I will establish your feet as if on dry ground. I will make you walk on the water
and conquer the situation. Though your situation may seem impossible to
overcome, I don’t require possibility to have victory. Have faith in My ability
and prepare yourself, not for a small miracle but for a great miracle—because
the conditions for a great miracle include impossibility. Therefore, I will be
glorified all the more through the deliverance I will bring you. In the multitude
of your anxieties, My comforts shall delight your soul.

Scripture for Thought
“The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed, He has
girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be
moved. Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. The
floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods
lift up their waves. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many
waters, than the mighty waves of the sea. Your testimonies are very sure;
holiness adorns Your house, O LORD, forever.” Psalm 93:1–5

Day Fifteen
Be the Living Example of My Love
Give to Me, My child, the glory due to My name. Come and offer your heart and
your praises to Me. Worship Me in the beauty of holiness. For I am the Lord, and
I am greatly to be praised. I am to be feared above all gods, for I alone am God.
Honor Me with your conduct, and worship Me with your time. Do not waste
your time with idle things, lest these distractions should become idols before Me.
Give to Me the glory due to My name.
Sing to Me a new song, and proclaim the good news of My salvation from day to
day. Declare My glory to all people, and speak of all the works I’ve done in your
life. Let all know that honor and majesty are for Me and that strength and beauty
are in My sanctuary.
Show them My love, that they may understand it. Sometimes people need to be
given an example in order to understand the depths of a concept. Therefore, be
the living example of My love, that others may be drawn by My love to My
salvation.
But do not only work in love; also speak the truths of My saving grace. For how
shall any believe on Me unless they hear the gospel? Therefore, My Beloved,
preach My word to the unbeliever, that they may receive Me.
Do not waver in your integrity and do not seek to become like them. But make
them like Me by establishing them in My saving grace.

Scripture for Thought
“Give unto the LORD, O you mighty ones, give unto the LORD glory and
strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; worship the LORD in
the beauty of holiness.” Psalm 29:1–2

Day Sixteen
I Work in You, Therefore Surrender
Learn to serve Me with gladness of heart, for it is I, not you yourself, who makes
you. You are the sheep in My pasture. Do not seek to establish yourself, but be
established by Me.
Many would tempt you to take the path of the world—to seek comfort in this
life. But I command you not to be comforted by the things of this life. Rather,
you shall find comfort in My Holy Spirit. Seek Me today and set nothing wicked
before your eyes. Do not depart from My path, on which I am leading you. Hate
the works of those who depart, and let a perverse heart be far from you.
I cannot make use of those who resist My leading. Therefore, submit to the
leading of My Holy Spirit and remember that I have a plan for you. Live
according to My design and feed off of My faithfulness.

Scripture for Thought
“Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with
gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, He is
God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the
sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts
with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His
mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.” Psalm 100:1–5

Day Seventeen
Understand My Will
Behold, I will come and fill up your life in the light of My presence. Simply
allow Me to be the fullness of your desire. All sin begins with desire—desire
against Me and My portion for you. But if I become all that you desire, in what
way shall you sin?
Consider the wisdom of this and be restored in My peace. Seek My will at all
times, that you may live accordingly. My will is communicated to you through
My Holy Spirit. But the best way to understand My will is through diligent study
of My Scripture.
Be faithful to study your Bible today and to meditate continually on My Holy
Spirit through prayer and worship.

Scripture for Thought
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will
of God.” Romans 12:2
“For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God,
you may receive the promise:” Hebrews 10:36
“And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of
God abides forever.” 1 John 2:17

Day Eighteen
Be Established in My Doctrine
Speak to the people, My child, and teach the unbeliever My ways. In the
morning declare My loving kindness, and My faithfulness every night.
Do I make you glad through the works of My hands? Then declare My works to
the people. Declare to them My death and resurrection, which I have
accomplished through love for them. Express My love to them and make them
know it perfectly by your deeds.
Be exceedingly kind, even as I am. But speak truth with your words. Let your
words be seasoned with salt and spoken with grace. But I command you not to
pour oil in the ear, nor to offer a man what he wants to hear. Speak truth to them.
For only by the truth can you be saved; only by My truth can you be set free.
Therefore, seek to have them planted in My house according to truth, that they
may flourish in My courts. For if you are established in My perfect doctrine, I
declare to you, you shall flourish and bear fruit even into your old age.
So declare that I am righteous, and let all men see how I am your rock. Be
unshakable in your faith and established in My perfect love.

Scripture for Thought
“He who speaks truth declares righteousness, but a false witness, deceit.”
Proverbs 12:17
“Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in
sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,” 1
Peter 1:22
“Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this
you will save both yourself and those who hear you.” 1 Timothy 4:16

Day Nineteen
Love Your Enemies
Be a peaceable person. Do not be wicked against those who are wicked to you.
When you were My enemy, I was diligent to love you. Because of My kindness,
You are saved. Do likewise for those who hate you, and they may become your
brethren. If they do not repent, I will remember their deeds to repay them.
Have I not said that vengeance is Mine and I shall repay? Fear not; I shall defend
you. But first I would have you offer them My love, that they may repent.
Therefore, I command you to repay them with loving kindness. Be diligent to do
good to those who are evil to you. Do not be consumed with anger or wrath, but
relinquish these things to Me.
Do you not see that I feed them? Are not your enemies clothed? From where do
you think they have received these things? Is it not I, the Lord, who has provided
their substance? If, then, I provide for My enemies, how much more should you
be found doing the same!
Strive according to My labor, and love the evildoers, that they may be saved.
Preach My truth to them and be exceedingly kind even when they’re exceedingly
evil to you. For I make the sun rise on the evil and send rain on their land so that
they can eat. I have the power to shut up the heavens with bars of iron. I can
make the rain cease and devastate the crops of this world. But I choose to feed
the poor among My enemies and to love them fervently for their salvation.
I want you to be found doing likewise, considering this also: If I feed those who
are My enemies, how much more will I take care of you, My child? In My
justice, I most certainly will deliver those who are faithful to Me. If I’m kind to
an evil man, how much more shall I be kind to My friends? Remember this and
let it increase your faith.

Scripture for Thought
“But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and
your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind
to the unthankful and evil.” Luke 6:35
“If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him
water to drink; for so you will heap coals of fire on his head, and the LORD will
reward you.” Proverbs 25:21–22

Day Twenty
Meditate on My Faithfulness
Pray to Me in the midst of your troubles and do not hide requests from Me. I will
not hide My face from you, My child, but I shall incline My ear to your prayers.
I will answer you speedily for the things I’ve already promised in My holy
Scriptures. Meditate on My faithfulness and let it increase your faith in your
hardship.
By My love, I am determined to save you. I will not relent until I have given you
peace. But before I give you peace, first you must yearn to increase in wisdom. I
allow the hardness of your circumstances to teach you to have a steadfast heart.
Praise Me in the darkest moments, and you will find My strength readily at hand.
Let your soul, disquieted within you, return your heart to praise. Worship Me in
the beauty of holiness, and My Spirit shall endow you with strength and
happiness.

Scripture for Thought
“‘And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out
My Spirit on the house of Israel,’ says the Lord GOD.”” Ezekiel 39:29
“When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go
with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy
and praise, with a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. Why are you cast down, O
my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet
praise Him for the help of His countenance.” Psalm 42:4–5
“Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His
faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the
desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He
shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and
your justice as the noonday.” Psalm 37:3–6
“I will remember the works of the LORD; surely I will remember Your wonders
of old. I will also meditate on all Your work, and talk of Your deeds. Your way,
O God, is in the sanctuary; who is so great a God as our God?” Psalm 77:11–13

Day Twenty-One
Don’t Leave, I Want More of You
Will you sit a while longer in your devotions? Please seek Me with a serious
heart. I know that you are tempted to do other things—to jump into the activities
of the day. But when you’re done with your devotion, this is not a time to walk
away from My presence. Continue to meditate on My presence, and you will see
that I’m with you throughout your activities of the day.
It is not that you step away from My presence to go about your day. For I am
always with you. Instead, you are distracted by the things you’re doing and
forget to pay attention to My Holy Spirit. Do you not remember that I call you to
abide in Me? Continue to walk in My Spirit while meditating on His presence.
Give Me more time to communicate to you in the secret place. You need Me to
give you the full lesson at hand. Too often have you walked out while I still
wanted to talk. Please grant Me the time to be intimate with you today.
Remember your love for Me while I cover you in Mine.

Scripture for Thought
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch
that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean
because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As
the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you,
unless you abide in Me. ‘I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in
Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If
anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they
gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.’” John 15:2–6
“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25

Day Twenty-Two
My Spirit Completes You
My child, I understand your grief. You strive to be strong yet remain weak. But I
have made you weak so you may understand that all your substance is in Me. By
this, I subdue you to myself.
You must know that I am your completion. To be holy means to make whole.
My Spirit completes you, that you may be perfect before Me. Learn to rely on
Him in your weaknesses, and then you shall be as strong as He is, for He shall be
your strength. My child, do not grief over your weaknesses, but rejoice in My
Spirit, who is your strength through your shortcomings.
I create weakness in you, that you may learn dependence on Me. You must learn
to grow by faith through your weaknesses. As you rest your faith on Me, I
strengthen you to overcome by My power. Thus, in your weakness I manifest
Myself. I am glorified through your humility. I cannot be glorified if I cannot be
revealed, and My strength is made evident in the times you rely on Me.
Thus, the whole world sees that what is impossible for you is still accomplished
by you. By this they desire to know the source of your strength. Do you see how
this is an opportunity both to grow in faith and to share Me with an unbeliever?
Yes, Beloved, rejoice in My Spirit and seek to be strengthened by Him. As you
worship Me and pray, He shall come upon you. Then, as you walk in Him, your
weaknesses shall easily be overcome.

Scripture for Thought
“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made
perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Day Twenty-Three
I Must Have a Submissive Servant
You are radiant. You are beautiful! While you may see your shortcomings, I see
the fullness of beauty I am creating in you. I know that you grieve over your
sins, and such is the right heart. But do not forget that My grace covers all. You
are repentant, and I am forgiving. Now allow Me to forget your shortcomings
and to meditate on your beauty.
I am a master craftsman. I am the true sculptor. Your life is like a stone freshly
cut for My hands to sculpt. All you see is the hard rock, and you ask Me what
beauty there is at all in that. But I already see the completed sculpture. It has
always been there, somewhere inside the rock. All that I need to do is chip away
the unnecessary pieces.
Remember that My eyes do not see you as you see yourself. In the areas you’re
broken, I see beauty, and in areas where you have pride, I see need for humility. I
will gently break and chisel away the pieces that are not needed, but I will also
rejoice in the beauty that I create in you.
Rejoice also in Me and render yourself fully to Me. Submit to My working
hands, that you may not break in improper places. If you do not submit and
become pliable clay, then I will be unable to fashion you with the beauty that I
intend. I must have a submissive servant! I am the teacher, and you are the
student, so submit to My lessons, Beloved, that you may grow thereby.
Do not seek your own path, but wait patiently for My Holy Spirit. He will lead
you in the way you are to go, and I will make you understand the paths I have
intended for you. Therefore, pray for wisdom, and I will grant to you. Seek My
will, and I shall make you know it. Continue to walk in My Spirit and meditate
on His presence today.

Scripture for Thought
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt
you in due time,” 1 Peter 5:6
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Romans
8:14

Day Twenty-Four
Be Holy, For I Am Holy
Become holy for Me, for I am holy. To be holy is to be complete in Me. One
who is holy is not so through legalistic practice. True holiness comes from a
heart submissive to My will and My plan. The word “holy” means to make
whole or to be complete. My Holy Spirit makes you complete in Me. You must
be holy, for I command you to be holy.
If you desire to obey Me in this, then you must learn to abide continually in My
Spirit. By “abide” I do not mean to say merely to live in Him, but rather to walk
continually in Him. You must remain attentive to His voice, focusing on Him
today. Do not allow the busyness of the day or the idle activities distract you
from Him. Continually pray and worship. Keep a steady eye fixed on Me.
As you learn to continue in My Spirit, you will become holy naturally. It is My
Spirit who makes you holy, and by walking in Him continually, you will never
sin and you will always overcome all things. You only sin when you take your
eyes off of Me and walk contrary to My Spirit.
Knowing this, fix your eyes on Me and do not look away. Do not only do this
during your devotion but meet with Me also in the secret place of your heart
throughout the day. Pray quietly, inwardly. Continually listen to My voice, and I
will direct you into My holiness.

Scripture for Thought
“Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you
into the place which I have prepared. Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not
provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in
Him. But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an
enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.” Exodus 23:20–22
“You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His
commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.”
Deuteronomy 13:4

Day Twenty-Five
Practice My Presence
Learn to practice My presence always. As you meditate on My presence, you
will be strengthened by Me. I will strengthen you to overcome every temptation
and every mistake you will ever encounter. I will strengthen you to overcome
every obstacle in every trial. I will bring you perfect peace and fill you to the
brim with My happiness. My joy shall be your strength!
But there are many things that would distract you from Me. I cannot emphasize
enough that you must practice My presence always. Not merely a few times
during the day but at all times—always—you must practice My presence. I’m
always with you, but you are not always mindful of Me and My presence as you
should be. When you forget to focus on Me, you succumb to the burdens of the
day. But by resting in Me and meditating on My Holy Spirit, you are empowered
to do all things.
Sensitize yourself to the voice of my Spirit and continue in His presence. He will
show you how to apply My word, so be faithful to study it today. Then, as you
practice My presence, I will meet with you and teach you how to apply My holy
Scriptures.

Scripture for Thought
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will
teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to
you.” John 14:26

Day Twenty-Six
Judge with Righteous Discernment
Do not judge yourself highly. Be careful to empty your mind of all judgment. By
this I do not mean to be without discernment, but I call you not to judge yourself
more highly than you ought. For you see your strengths, but I see your
weaknesses. You see your successes, and I see the places you need to grow.
Focus, therefore, on the areas in which you need to grow and on ridding your
mind of the plague of positive self-judgment. Yet I do not call you to judge
yourself negatively as if to put on false humility.
Look at yourself for what you really are, and you will see how deeply you need
Me. As you understand that need, rest in Me. For I do not come to condemn you
but to love you and save you. I look at all things and judge everything through a
lens of perfect love. Though it is easy for you to compare yourself to others,
Beloved, and to consider yourself spiritual compared to them, this only increases
pride.
I command you to compare yourself to Me. And as you compare yourself to Me,
you’ll see that you’re still a child. Therefore, make it your effort to grow up in
Me continually while ignoring where other people are at. Have I not said to
focus on the plank in your own eye? Therefore, I command you to diligently
remove that plank and walk in perfect love.
But I do call you to put on discernment, and if you’re brother or sister is in sin, I
command you to steer him or her to repentance. I do not want you to condemn,
but to convict. If another refuses My conviction and hates My teachings, then it
is proper to avoid such a person. Should you be friends of those who despise
Me? I want you to be mindful that not everyone who claims to be My friend
truly is.
Yes, I do call you to judge with righteous discernment, but not to puff yourself
up. Be humble and compare yourself to Me, and you will see how badly you
need Me. Then, seeing this, take the time to seek Me so that you may grow.
Desire My word and be refreshed in My Spirit. Read your Bible today and study
it diligently, that you may grow thereby.

Scripture for Thought
“For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who
judges me is the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 4:4
“For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to
think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God
has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” Romans 12:3

Day Twenty-Seven
My Opinion Is All That Matters
I alone hold the hidden places of wisdom. Do not pursue wisdom in any other
place. I command you to seek wisdom from Me and to grow in Me as I teach
you. While I have appointed many pastors, know that it is I who speak through
them. Therefore, obey their word is if it is Mine. Yet I command you to be
discerning, that you may understand when I am speaking through them and
when they’re sharing their own hearts or personal opinions. Do not live by man’s
opinions and do not seek to be taught by man, but by My Holy Spirit.
My Holy Spirit will teach you through men, but most importantly, He will teach
you personally and intimately. Therefore, sit quietly in His presence, that you
can learn from Him. Drown out the noise others make and be careful not to
follow after opinions. My opinion is all that matters because My opinion brings
life while theirs profit nothing.
Walk with Me in My way and not the way men teach you. Abstain from the
commandments of men and walk in My Holy Spirit. For I am not found in the
organized church. I’m found in the heart of the individual. I’m speaking clearly
to you, even in My whispers. But are you listening, My child?

Scripture for Thought
“Jesus answered them and said, ‘My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it
is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. He who speaks from
himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent
Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.’” John 7:16–18
“Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know
understanding; for I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.” Proverbs
4:1–2

Day Twenty-Eight
Continue to Seek My Wisdom Diligently
I can never express enough that I am the fountain of wisdom. Come and drink
deeply of Me. Seek Me in order to have My mind. Pray for My wisdom, and I
will grant it to you. This is not a time for you to say to Me, “Your will be done,”
for it is My will that all My children should be wise in My Holy Spirit.
But if you do not seek My wisdom, then you shall not find it. Have I not said to
seek and you will find, to ask and it will be given to you, to knock and the door
shall be opened to you? Therefore, I command you to seek Me now and never
cease to pray for My wisdom.
But praying is not enough. You must open your Bible and study it while listening
to My Holy Spirit. He will explain to you the hidden messages of the Bible. He
will interpret each little parable and picture from the Old Testament to the New
Testament. However, you must be submissive to His voice and heed it. Seek My
wisdom diligently, and you shall find it.

Scripture for Thought
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to
be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
“My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so
that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes,
if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you
seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will
understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD
gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores
up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly…”
Proverbs 2:1–7
“Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words
of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; love her, and she
will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all
your getting, get understanding.” Proverbs 4:5–7

Day Twenty-Nine
Draw Near to Me
Lay aside everything that hinders our relationship. I want you to be completely
sold out to Me. I must have you as Mine. There are many things that would
occupy your time—time that you should spend in devotion to Me. Are you
serious about our relationship? Seek Me with a diligent heart.
Do not say in your heart, “I don’t think I need to do that. Your grace is enough.”
If you love Me, you will pursue Me. A lover pursues his or her spouse with a
diligent heart before they marry. Daily they seek to be together and desire each
other’s continual presence. So they marry in order that they may have each other
for every moment.
But I am above the marriage I created. The Creator is greater than the creation.
How much more should you seek to be with Me daily and every moment of the
day? Pursue Me while I can be found. Seek Me while I make My presence
known to you.
For in My heartache, I may allow you to have the idols you desire. Yes, I allow
people to sin, but everyone will give an account to Me for it. You can never be
justified by idols, only judged according to them.
If you love Me, then examine your life and look at the things that are occupying
your time and keeping you from drawing near to Me. Then rid yourself of them,
that you may truly please Me. As your time frees up, spend it growing in My
Spirit and in My word.

Scripture for Thought
“Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.”
Isaiah 55:6

Day Thirty
Deny Yourself and Continually Seek Me
In order to practice My presence, you must examine your heart. There are many
ways that your flesh would rebel against Me. It has a mind of its own, constantly
desiring to please itself. You must learn to resist the flesh and its impulses. You
need to ignore them and focus on Me. But do not be distracted by constantly
resisting the flesh. Even this could keep you from practicing My presence.
Instead, keep a steady eye fixed on Me, ignoring the wickedness built up in your
own heart. Do not desire against Me or run away from My presence, but sit
continually at My side. It is possible, for all things are possible through Me.
Meditate upon Me and have faith that I will help you. Seek Me with all your
heart and have faith that I will strengthen you. I’ve already drawn near to you, so
the only way for you to get closer is to draw near to Me.
Let go of the things of your own heart and of your desires that keep you from
My presence. Examine your heart and take note of the desires that are against
Me. If you want to be entertained but I am telling you to read My word or to
pray, then your heart is not with Me. Deny yourself and continually seek Me. By
this you shall be strengthened and filled with My everlasting joy.

Scripture for Thought
“Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for
honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Flee
also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who
call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:21–22
