    Siddhartha Gautama, who lived in the 5th-6th century BCE in Nepal, is considered the historical Buddha in some Buddhist traditions but not others. Mahayana Buddhism believes each Buddha has three forms - a transcendent truth body, a bliss body, and a manifestation body - and that Buddhas are not actually individuals but representations of enlightenment. Different regions also emphasize different Buddhas, such as Amitabha in China and Vairocana in Japan.

     Siddhartha Gautama, born in the fifth or six century C.E.

    in present day Nepal , is considered the


    historical Buddha in Mahayana Buddhism .

     For Theravada, Buddhism only the historical, buddha and past buddhas are accepted.

     Mahayana Buddhism which states that each buddha has three bodies, namely, dharmakaya,
    sambhogakaya , and nirmanakaya .

     The dharmakaya is identical with perfect enlightenment is absolute and beyond existence and
    non – existence.

     For Mahayana Buddhists , buddhas are not individuals who actually lived in this world.

     In China , Amitabha is very popular Buddha , in Japan vairocana is the great buddha.
