A Lesson Plan In Teaching Literature


I. Objective
 To be able to see the message of the story.
 To be able to learn a new characteristic.
 To strengthen the learner’s attained characteristic/s.
 To strengthen the learner’s reading comprehension.

III. Lesson  A. Routinary Activities


Development
 A student will lead the prayer.
 Students will formally greet their Teacher.
 Checking of attendance lead by the assigned leader

 B. Motivation

- The Teacher will lead a physical activity to the class and ask the
following questions. (Trust Fall)

 Did he/she trusted his/her chosen supporters wholeheartedly?


 Are the supporters patient and trustworthy?
 What is the message of the activity?

 C. Vocubulary Development/ Unlocking of Difficulties

- Match the sentence to the correct word if it is a Trust or a Patience.

 D. Motive Question

- Why trust and patience are important to every people? Have you ever
trusted someone? Is there someone or something that makes
You spent your patience longer than usual?

 E. Presentation

-The Story, Princess and the Pea is one of the interesting Children
storybook. This story has been read thru ages and still bring a life lesson
to everyone, By keeping the main subject and moral intact. The story
was first written down in 1835 by Hans Christian Andersen, who claimed
to have heard it in his childhood. But we find earlier versions of this tale
in other literature.

- Hans Christian Andersen  was a Danish author. Although a prolific


writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, he is best remembered
for his literary fairy tales. Andersen's fairy tales, consisting of 156 stories
across nine volumes and translated into more than 125 languages, have
become culturally embedded in the West's collective consciousness,
readily accessible to children but presenting lessons of virtue and
resilience in the face of adversity for mature readers as well. His most
famous fairy tales include "The Emperor's New Clothes", "The Little
Mermaid", "The Nightingale", "The Steadfast Tin Soldier", "The Red
Shoes", "The Princess and the Pea", "The Snow Queen", "The Ugly
Duckling", "The Little Match Girl", and "Thumbelina". His stories have
inspired ballets, plays, and animated and live-action films.

- This Story will suits for a Grade 7 to 10 students because they can
understand the story the most and they can fully related to the story.
 F. Reading Proper

The teacher will read the story using a PPT during the storytelling,
The Princess and the pea by Hans Christian Anderson. After that the
teacher will ask some question.

-Comprehension Check

- Who are the characters in the story?


- What is the setting of the story?
- Who did the prince want to marry?
- What kind of night did the princess have?
- How did the queen mother know that the princess was real?
- What is the message or the moral lesson of the story?

 G. Activities

- Drawing

 The teacher will pair the students, And each pair will think and write
a poetry that shows and conveys the message of Trust.
 H. Evaluation

Criteria:

-Teamwork
- Drawing
- Explanation of the drawing

 I. Synthesis

- The teacher will present a video to the students that shows and
explain the importance of trust and patience.
