COMPARISONS – CÂU SO SÁNH

1. So sánh hơn
Với tính từ / trạng từ ngắn
S + be + adj-er + than
S + V + adv-er +than
Ex:
- Today is hotter than yesterday.
- Mai studies better than Hung.
- Tom came later than Mary.
Với tính từ / trạng từ dài
S + be + more adj + than
S + V + more adv + than
Ex:
- This sofa is more comfortable than that one.
- She drives more carefully than I do.
- This hat is more beautiful than that one.
Lưu ý:
Trong cấu trúc so sánh hơn có thể thêm far hoặc much trước cụm từ so sánh nhằm
nhấn mạnh ý bạn muốn đề cập.
Ex: Ann’s cell phone is much more expensive than mine.
2. So sánh bằng
S + be + as + adj + as
S + V + as + adv + as
Ex:
- She is as tall as I am.
- This landscape is as beautiful as a picture.
- This shoe is as expensive as yours.

S + to be / V + the same + Noun + as

Ex:
- John has the same height as Jim.
- Her home is the same way as mine.
3. So sánh nhất
Với tính từ / trạng từ ngắn:
S + be + the adj-est
S + V + the adv-est
Ex:
- Nam is the tallest in our class.
- Anne is the youngest person in my office.
- He sleeps the latest of us.
Lưu ý: Nếu muốn nhấn mạnh cấu trúc so sánh nhất, có thể thêm very trước tính từ.
Ex: Our company implements the very latest agricutural techniques.
Với tính từ / trạng từ dài
S + be + the most + adj
S + V + the most + adv
Ex:
- This movie is the most boring film I have ever watched.
- She is the most beautiful person I’ve met.
- Nam is the most intelligent student in my class.
4. So sánh bội số (gấp nhiều lần)

S + V/to be + bội số + as + much/many/adj/adv + N nếu có + as + N/pronoun

Ex:
- Gasoline prices this year are twice as high as last year.
- My luckey money in this year are three times as much as last year.
5. So sánh kép (càng – càng)

The + so sánh hơn + S + V, the + so sánh hơn + S +V

Ex:
- The harder you study, the better your exam results.
- The more carefully you are, the less mistakes you make.
Bất quy tắc:
