TKYO KEIKI
In ECDIS (JRC/TOKYO KEIKI), the Safety Contour is a line indicating safety depth contour and displaying on the
chart. If the chart contour does not coincide with the setting safety depth contour line, the ECDIS will
automatically switch and display the next deeper and closest line of depth contour.
在 JRC 及 TOKYO KEIKI 裡,安全等深線會依設定值以目前使用比例尺海圖上的等深線顯示,如果沒有與
設定值相同的等深線,ECDIS 會自動選擇顯示比設定值大且最接近的等深線。

For example, the Safety Contour is set as 15m, but actually, 18.2m contour has been selected by ECDIS
automatically due to there has no 15m contour in present chart‐NOAA chart in British unit.
例如安全等深線設定為 15 米,目前船位所用比例尺海圖‐美國大氣海洋局英制單位海圖,無 15 米等
深線,系統自動選擇下一條比較深的 18.2 米等深線。
For the sake of simplicity and safety, it is recommended that in the ECDIS always set Safety Depth and the
Safety Contour as the same value.
為了簡單和安全起見,建議將 ECDIS 的安全水深和安全等深線數值設定相同。

(2) Detecting of navigational hazards
偵測航行危險
For the safe navigation purpose, it is recommended to turn‐on the Look‐ahead Area (Danger detection
sector/vector) to detect any danger on or around the route in advance. However, there will be no alert
generated if Look‐ahead Area function is deactivated.
為求安全航行目的,建議航行中開啟安全預警區(Look‐ahead Area)
。它可預先偵測航路附近有無危險
及發出警報,以達到航行安全的目的。然而,一旦此功能遭關閉,觸發航行危險的警報將不再產生。

(3) Alert 警報
When the Look‐ahead Area is touching the Safety Contour or dangerous object, an alert will be triggered to
inform the navigator on watch that own ship may running into a shallow water or danger; however, one thing
we need to remind that this function will not trigger any alert for its function while the area is touching any
spot shallow water depth in numeral. In another word, the navigator could only make his own judgement by
checking the color difference of each numeral that displayed on chart visually, even if the Look‐ahead Area
runs crossing the shallow water area without sufficient depth, it still won’t trigger any alert.
當安全預警區接觸安全等深線時,ECDIS 會立即觸發警報通知船位正在接近淺水區域。但特別要提醒航
行員的是,此功能對於圖面上實際點狀淺水水深數字並不會觸發任何警報。換句話說,安全水深只能
從字體顏色判斷水深關係,即使 Look‐ahead Area 通過小於安全水深的區域,也不會產生任何警報。

The alert content is displayed at upper right corner.

right corner of the bottom.
