MAINTENANCE
ALERT
SUBJECT: STABILATOR BELLCRANK BRACKET ASSEMBLY
INSPECTION
COMPLIANCE TIME: To coincide with next regularly scheduled maintenance event, but not to exceed
the next one hundred (100) hours time in service. (For Warranty eligibility, see
the Summary section of this document.)
APPROVAL: The procedures specified in the instructions section has been shown to comply
with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and is FAA approved.
PURPOSE: It has been discovered that the slot location in the left and right Stabilator
Bellcrank Bracket assembly may provide insufficient clearance with the elevator
trim cables. Left uncorrected this condition may cause excessive wear on the
cables.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Gain access to inspect the left and right stabilator bellcrank brackets through access panels, See Figure 1.
2. If the trim cables pass through the brackets and do not interfere with any part of either bracket, no other
action is required. Proceed to Step 8.
3. If the trim cables passing through the brackets are resting against either or both brackets, the affected bracket
(s) must be reworked. Figure 2 shows a slot mislocated in the left bracket and interference with the cable.
4. Remove the caterpillar grommets from around the slots.
5. Rework left and right stabilator bellcrank brackets to specifications called out in Figure 3.
6. Install caterpillar grommets (P/N MS21266-IN) around the elongated slots using 3M 1300L Contact Adhesive
(or an equivalent).
7. Test the trim cables movements to ensure no interference with modified brackets.
8. Close access panels.
9. Make a logbook entry indicating compliance with this Service Letter.

MATERIAL REQUIRED: One (1) each strip caterpillar grommet (P/N MS21266-IN) and 3M 1300L
contact adhesive.
SUMMARY: Applicable Factory Participation is limited to new aircraft in warranty at the time
of compliance. Factory Participation will remain in effect for a period of time not to exceed 180 days from the date
of this Service Bulletin.
Please contact your Factory Authorized Piper Service Facility to make arrangements for compliance with this
Service Bulletin in accordance with the compliance time indicated.
NOTE: If you are no longer in possession of this aircraft, please forward this information to
the present owner/operator and notify the factory of address/ownership corrections.
Changes should include aircraft model, serial number, current owner's name and
address.
