 Allow students to watch a video presentation about
magnetic field lines
Guide Question:
How a magnetic field affects an object based on the video
showed to you?

II. Students Activity/Deepening

 Observe different properties of magnets
Guide Questions:
Based on the demonstrations, how do magnets behave?
Do poles of the magnets always occur in pair? Explain
your answer based on the 3rd demonstration.
 Answering of “Quick Check” on page 136.

Day 2 – August 4 – ELECTROMAGNETISM I. Formative Assessments

1. Seatwork
Set Objective/s:
2
 Describe how electric current produces magnetic field and 2. Recitation
how electricity induced by magnetism;
III. Assignments/Agreement
I. Explore  Bring the following materials
 Allow students to watch the video regard the experiments tomorrow
conducted by two known scientist on the relationship of Big iron nail

Guide Question:
How do you think the flow of the current in the wires
affected the compass?

Guide Question:
What conclusion can you draw based on the experiment
shown on the video?

II. Abstraction/Firm – Up
 The video presented are the experiments conducted by
Hans Christian Oersted and Michael Faraday.
 Present to students that the first video is the experiment of
Oersted and the second one is from Faraday.

II. Students Activity/Deepening

 What is being created when there is a flow of current?
 How does current induced to the circuit when a there is a
presence of magnet?
 What conclusion can you draw on the relationship of
current and magnetic field?

Day 3 – August 7 – ELECTROMAGNET
Set Objective/s:
 Create an electromagnet

I. Explore
 What is the relationship of current and magnetic field?

II. Abstraction/Firm – Up
 Checking of students materials by group;
 Doing of Activity/Challenge on page 139 of the students
book;

II. Students Activity/Deepening

 Doing and answering of activity on page 139.
 Listing of students observation based on the experiment;
 Answering of the questions provided on the book for the
activity

Day 3 – August 8 – APPLICATIONS OF

ELECTROMAGNETISM

Set Objective/s:
 Explain how generators, motors and transformers work
 Provide ways on how to become a “motor” and
“transformer” to others

4
I. Explore
 How does an electric current affects the strength of the
magnetic field?

II. Abstraction/Firm – Up
 Discussion on the applications of electromagnetism
through motor, generator and transformer.
Guide Question:
How do these devices differ from each other?

II. Students Activity/Deepening

 Where do we use motors? Generators? Transformers?
 Are these devices helpful to the society? How did you say
so?

III. Valuing
 A motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy
and a transformer either increases or decreases the voltage.
If you make an analogy in life, who and what are some of
the transformers and motors of your life? Why do you
consider them much?
On your parts, how can you be a motor and generator to
others? How can you in communion in God by helping
other people especially those who are in need and
oppressed?

IV. Generalization
 What is the relationship of electric current to magnetic
field?
 With the discovery of the relationship of electric current
and magnetic field, is it possible to say that it is really
helpful?
