Medium and technique used in Rizal Monuments

The Rizal Monument is a memorial park in Manila built to remember the heroic
doings of one of our national hero Jose P. Rizal, not to commemorate only his
doings but to remember him as a legend. He is one of our country’s saviors,
defending our rights and fighting until the end of his breath. After that, Filipinos
started to build his monument specifically named “Rizal Monument”.
The monument consists of different materials which made it very special. The
main statue is made of bronze standing and dressed in an overcoat and holding a
book in his hand. The books are said to represent Rizal's novels Noli Me Tangere
and El filibusterismo. It also consists of granite and the back of its statue is made
of a marble obelisk.
This monument is a landscape painting portraying a view of the park where the
monument of National Hero is located. The builders typically used a chemical
called varsol for the bronze structure and use of beeswax for protection and for
coating. The obelisk of the monument has three metallic stars and NHCP(National
Historical Commission of the Philippines) also coats these with gold leaf every 4
years.
