INTRODUCTION:
Students use self-learning modules (SLMs) in print or digital format/electronic copy,
whichever is applicable in the context of the learner, and other learning resources activity sheets,
study guides and other study materials. Learners can have access to electronic copies of learning
materials on USB storage and printed SLMs. The teacher takes the responsibility of monitoring
the progress of the learners. by checking their work submitted/dropped off at school every end of
the week. The learners may ask assistance from the teacher via e-mail, telephone, text
message/instant messaging, etc. during teacher's office hours.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:


This study aims to investigate the effect of modular distance learning on the academic
performance of the students.

Specifically, this study aims to answer the following questions:

1. Does modular distance learning affects the learning performance of the students?

2. Is there significant increase or decrease on the student’s grades?

SIGNIFICANCE OF STUDY:
These are the people who will benefits this study;

1. Teachers - this study can help teachers because it would serves as an eye opener for them in
knowing the effect of the MDL in the learner's academic performance so they can implement
appropriate guidelines and instructions.

2. Students-this study is significant to them because it help them to trained on time


management ,setting their priorities,solve and answer the problems and questions given in their
modules . This will help the student having an idea what is the effect of the modular distance
learning to their academic.
METHODOLOGY:
This study will be conducted using questionnaires in gathering the data . The respondent
will answer the question prepared by the researcher using questionnaires . This is to gather
information or data regarding the study . This study information will help the researcher to reach
their research goals . This informations will be collected to create a research information and
conclusion.
