ANSWER KEY IN ACTIVITY 1
1. Asked: ∠A
Given: m ∠A= x + 15 and
m ∠E= 2x + 5
Solution: m ∠A ≅ m ∠E
x + 15 = 2x + 5
x = 10
m ∠ A = 10+15 = 25º
Answer: m ∠ A = 25º

2. Asked: m<A
Given: m ∠M=120°
Solution: x + 120° = 180°
X =180° -120°
X =60°
Answer: m ∠ A = 60°

3. Asked: DC
Given: AB=5x+2 and DC=3x + 6
Solution: 5x+2 = 3x + 6
5x – 3x = 6 – 2
2x = 4
x=2

DC = 3x + 6
= 3(2) + 6
= 6+6
= 12
Answer: DC = 12
ANSWER KEY IN ACTIVITY 2
1. Asked: XY
Given: AK= 8in,
CE= 20in
Solution: XY= ½ (AK + CE)
XY= ½ (8 + 20)
XY = ½ (28)
XY= 14 inches
Answer: XY= 14 inches

2. Asked: m∠S, m∠M, m∠E

Given: m∠G = 50°
Solution: Based on the isosceles trapezoid theorem, each pair of base angles is
congruent. So we have m∠G ≅ m∠E = 50°

∠S and ∠P are supplementary.

So we have m∠G + m∠S = 180°
50° + m∠S = 180
m∠S=130°

Based on the theorem, each pair of base angles in an isosceles trapezoid must be
congruent
So we have,
m∠S ≅ m∠M = 130°
Answers: ∠S = 130°
∠M = 130°
∠E = 50°
ANSWER KEY IN ACTIVITY 3
1. Asked: m∠O, m∠L
Given: m∠G=132°, m∠A=60°
Solution:
m∠G + m∠O + m∠A + m∠L = 360°
132° + x° + 60° + x° = 360°
2x° + 192° = 360°
2x° = 360° - 192°
2x°= 168°
x = 84°
Answer: m∠O = m∠L= 84°

2. Asked: area of the kite

Given: MR= 22cm and EO=16
Solution: A= ½ (MR · EO)
= ½ (22cm x 16cm)
= ½ (352 cm2)
=352 cm 2
2
A=176 cm2
Answer: A=176 cm2
ANSWER KEY IN ACTIVITY 4

1. Asked/ Find: Find the measure of each of the angles ∠B, ∠C and ∠D.

Given: ∠A = 75°.
Solution:
∠A + ∠B = 180°
⇒ 75° + ∠B = 180°
⇒∠B = (180° - 75°) = 105°
Also, ∠B + ∠C = 180° [Since, ∠B and ∠C are adjacent angles]
⇒ 105° + ∠C = 180°
⇒ ∠C = (180° - 105°) = 75°.
Further, ∠C + ∠D = 180° [Since, ∠C and ∠D are adjacent angles]
⇒ 75° + ∠D = 180°
⇒ ∠D = (180° - 75°) = 105°.
Answer: ∠B = 105°, ∠C = 75° and ∠D = 105°.

2. Asked/ Find: VS
Given: QR = 4 and UT = 216.
1
Solution: VS = (QR+ UT)
2
1
= (4 + 16)
2
1
= (20)
2
= 10
Answer: VS = 17

3. Asked/Find: Area of the kite

Given: Quadrilateral LIKE is a kite with
LI ≅ IK and ¿ ≅ KE ; diagonals is 4 more than the other
and IE + LK =16 in
Solution:
Shorter diagonal, LK = x
Longer diagonal, IE = x + 4
Sum of diagonals = 16 in
(x) + (x+4) = 16
2x + 4 = 16
2x = 16-4
2x/2 = 12/2
X = 6 in
LK = x = 6 in
IE = x + 4
= 6 in + 4 in
= 10 in
Answer: Area = 30∈¿2 ¿
