HISTORY OF ECC 1982 On March 24, 1982, the EARIST Board of Trustees approved GASAT's creation and operation as an EARIST branch in G.MA., Cavite by passing Board Resolution No. 007-82. A group of concerned locals petitioned the head of the Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST), a state college with charter in Manila, to establish a branch or extension school to serve the educational needs of General Mariano Alvarez's deserving but economically underprivileged population. The first president of EARIST, Dr. Hilario G. Nudas HISTORY OF ECC 1972 Nicarte A. Swanson, a former member of the Sangguniang Bayan, submitted community resolutions on the basis of their merit, the Project Proposal prepared by the committee, the 1972 educational decree directing schools to "train the nation's manpower in the middle-level skills required for national development, and the institutional mission of EARIST HISTORY OF ECC 1982 Only three days of preparation, enrollment became full swing on June 14, 1982 at the compound of the NHA Field Office in GMA, Cavite. Relevant curricular programs in vocational-technical education were offered with an initial population of 397 students, both for the day and evening programs. 1984 Opening of the school up to Dec. 29, 1984 they entered the GASAT compound, which was then hidden because it was a school without a school building and neither an institute nor an institution. HISTORY OF ECC 1984 November 29, 1984 ,The firts obstacle for GASAT when the legality of its existence was questioned by the auditor which is not in accordancr with PD 1594. The superintendent did not lose hope and never did he visualize the posibility of the threatening fact that the GASAT will be closed for the establishing it illegally. 1985 Exercises on March 28, 1985 with 157 graduates from the trade-technical courses and vocational courses. HISTORY OF ECC 1986 The administrative staff as well as the faculty staff with Miss Aida Castillo, BS Math.; and Mr. Mariano R. Marquez Jr.; joining the force never ceased in their desire to provide techno-science education for the upliftment of the school and economics condition of the General Mariano Alvarez settlers. 1987 The institute continued to serve the mission of providing technical-vocational education. With the scholarship grant of former Congressman Renato P. Dragon of the 2nd District of Cavite , eight students enjoyed free tuitions , with textbook and uniform allowance during the school year 1987-1988. HISTORY OF ECC 1989 The school was also fortunate to have a doctorate degree holder Dr. Corazon P Cabotaje who successfully defended her dissertation in March 1989. 1990 Two additional degree courses were offered in school year 1989-1990- the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education (RSIE), and the Bachelor of Science in Business Education (BSBE) both as ladderized courses. finally after eight years of GASAT existence/operation without a school building of its own, the much aspired and dreamed of school building came into reality HISTORY OF ECC 1991 The school offered a new course in SY 1991-1992 - The General Engineering course, and the Architectural Technician course that replaced technical drafting. To upgrade curriculum context, attuned with the trends in information Technology, The school decided to integrate the Computer subjects (basic) in all courses upon acquisition of Several Computer Units HISTORY OF ECC 1992-1993 The school year was succedded with more remarkable projects, the construction project for phase III school building and together putting up of 112.11 and 143.45 concrete school fence in front. 1994 The School got additional fund of P2,849,350.36 for the construction of its Phase VI Building Project in March 1995 along with the acquisition of a number of brand new equipment facilities in Apparel, Automotive and Food Technology in December 1994 as part of P1.4 million budget requisition. HISTORY OF ECC 1997-1998 In the year 1997–98, GASAT was able to maintain its budget allocation of P2,613,081.98 for the Phase VIII Building Project, which included the construction of a concrete perimeter fence, fog lights, a permanent stage, a flagpole, and multipurpose pavement 1998-1999 The centennial year of Philippine Independence was celebrated during the school year 1998–1999 through the following events: General Educational Field Trip at Expo Filipino, Pansentenaryong Pagtatanghal, and History Quiz with the theme: "Kabataan: Sa Makabagong Pagsulong ng Kalayaan. In addition, the Social Science Area put up the Centennial Exhibits that featured the projects and displays depicting the rich Filipino heritage and struggle for independence. HISTORY OF ECC 2000 The institute gained new glitz at the beginning of the new millennium after taking a great shape in the school year 1999–2000 in terms of infrastructure development, student development, and staffing levels under the new brand of leadership Dr. Maura V. Bautista assumed office as President of EARIST in December 1999, emphasizing the AACCUP Accreditation as her flagship project with her slogan "Unity." Solidarity and Teamwork for Quality Education Towards EARIST Development". HISTORY OF ECC 2002 March 24, 2002 marked the 20th FOUNDATION Anniversary of GASAT now called EARIST Cavite Campus It has offered five degree courses, 8SIT, BSIE, BSBE, BSCS and BSOA Industrial Technology Education courses offers specialization in Electronics, Drafting, Apparel, Foods, Auto Diesel Electricity and Befrieration and Airconditioning HISTORY OF ECC 2003-2004 The school experienced tremendous growth during the 2003–2004 school year, especially with the reengineering and reorganization of its academic programs and the addition of two (2) new academic offerings, the BSHRM and the BSE–HT. The BSOA curriculum has also expanded by adding Office Management as a major. The clinic was installed outfitted with a first aid kit, medications, and a tread mill to better service its expanding clientele. While the Campus Ministry was developed and established in Room A, the Guidance Center underwent a similar revitalization. Goals • Provide professional, scientific, technological, technical, and vocational instruction and training in trades, business, arts, sciences, and technology and for special purposes promote research, advanced studies and progressive leadership. Objectives • Strive for academic excellence in instruction, research, extension and production through accreditation. • Provide appropriate and continuing faculty and staff development programs. • Provide and maintain appropriate technologies, instructional facilities, materials and equipment. • Produce quality graduates who are globally competitive to man the needs of business and industry. • Attain university status through Unity, Solidarity and Teamwork. Philosophy • As a state college, Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) believes that education is not an area of knowledge that can be arrogated unto itself by one profession, nor it is a division separate and distinct from the society and the times in which it flourishes.
