THIRD QUARTER

I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the discussion, 85% of the students will be able to:

1. Describe the quantitative data-collection techniques;


2. Differentiate the types of quantitative data-collection techniques;
3. Construct a research instrument to be used in their research study.

A. Engage

The teacher will call random students to share the things that they
have researched for their assignment that was given to them on the
previous meeting. (Assignment: Research in advance about Data -
Collection Techniques and Research Instrument)

B. Explore

The students will have an activity entitled “Jumbled Words”. They need to
arrange the letters in order to form the correct word.

C. Explain

When the students are finished answering the activity, the teacher will
give the answers to check if their answers are correct or wrong.
Furthermore, the teacher will give some follow up questions to the students.
What can you say about the activity that we have done? Is it hard or easy?
What do you think is the connection of the words you assembled in
today’s lesson? After hearing the answers of the students, the teacher will
give additional information and start discussing the lesson.
D. Elaborate

The teacher will present the lesson through PowerPoint Presentation.


Also, the teacher will continue the discussion and show a diagram which
illustrates the summary of quantitative data-collection techniques.
Furthermore, the teacher will expound the stages of content analysis, as
well as the other data-collection techniques and the measurement scales.
After the discussion, the teacher will ask some questions to the students.
What other fields can we relate the topic about research techniques and
instrument? What is the connection of research techniques and instrument
in our lives? After answering the questions, the teacher will give some
feedback and wrap up the discussion.

E. Evaluate

The students will go to their respective groups and create a survey


questionnaire in relation to their study.
