Title: "EFFECT OF EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES IN
ENHANCING SOCIAL SKILLS OF STUDENTS

The purpose of this research is to help the future researchers about their

topics regarding the Level of engagement, enhancing socials skills, Advantage

and Disadvantage in participating in Extra-curricular activities. The research is

conducted to get the parental knowledge features he following problems: 1.

What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of: age, sex,

sports/organization 2. What is the respondent’s level of engagement in school

extra-curricular activities? 3. How do respondents perceive the effects of extra-

curricular activities on enhancing their social skills? 4 What are the advantages

and disadvantages of engaging in extra-curricular activities as perceived by the

respondents? Several theories have been using in the chapter 2 that provide

appropriate basis and sufficient guidelines to conduct this research.

In this study, the researchers decided to use descriptive method

approach that was complemented with a close-ended questionnaire provided to

the respondents. The respondents answer served as a foundation for the

effectiveness and success of this study. The researchers found out that the

parental knowledge along identified causes, drug abuse obtained the highest

weighted mean rating while mental problems received the lowest weighted mean

rating. The overall mean rating was 2.80 interpreted as knowledgeable.

Along identified signs, the physical abuse on parenting gained the highest

weighted mean, while the under involvement on the child gathered the lowest

weighted mean rating. The overall mean rating was 3.10 which is interpreted as

knowledgeable. Along the identified consequences, the negative attitudes gained

the highest overall mean rating, while to have low moral development gathered

the lowest weighted mean ranking. The overall mean rating was 3.08 and

interpreted as knowledgeable.

This research produced all information about parental knowledge in

causes, signs and consequences of bad parenting.
