The purpose of this research is to help the future researchers about their

topics regarding the Level of engagement, enhancing socials skills, Advantage

and Disadvantage in participating in Extra-curricular activities. The research is

conducted to get the parental knowledge features he following problems: 1.

What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of: age, sex,

sports/organization 2. What is the respondent’s level of engagement in school

extra-curricular activities? 3. How do respondents perceive the effects of extra-

curricular activities on enhancing their social skills? 4 What are the advantages

and disadvantages of engaging in extra-curricular activities as perceived by the

respondents? Several theories have been using in the chapter 2 that provide

appropriate basis and sufficient guidelines to conduct this research.

In this study, the researchers decided to use descriptive method approach

that was complemented with a close-ended questionnaire provided to the

respondents. The respondents answer served as a foundation for the

effectiveness and success of this study. The researchers found out that

participating in extracurricular activities such as a club, team, or organization

improves your communication and time management abilities ranked 1 st as fairly

agreed by the Mandated and Non-Mandated officers as well as the Varsity

Students and ranked 6th that they agreed with was the indicator weekend

focused on extracurricular activities rather than religious activities. Furthermore,

the indicator ranked 1st was obtained through the highest responses from

Mandated and Non-Mandated officers with the 3.90 mean rating, followed by the

Varsity 3.70 rating. The average weighted mean was 3.80.

Simultaneously, it can be observed that among the indicators, one of the

benefits obtained was confidence (improve by joining extracurricular activities)

ranked 1st as agreed by the Mandated and Non-Mandated officers as well as the

Varsity Students and ranked 5th that they agreed with was the indicator

Comparing social skills before and after participating in extracurricular activities

shows that they improved significantly.

Furthermore, the indicator ranked 1st was obtained through the highest

responses from Varsity with the 3.89 mean rating, followed by the Mandated and

Non-Mandated officers 3.72 mean rating. The average weighted mean was 3.81.

In contrast, the indicator that ranked last to agree upon was Stress

factors. Engaging in extracurricular activities can lead to burnout. This was

obtained from the highest response from the Mandated and Non- Mandated

officers with the mean rating of 2.86 while 2.51 mean rating for Varsity. The

average weighted mean was 2.68.

This research produced all information about effects of extra- curricular

activities in enhancing social skills of students.
